Played today. Drying out nicely except for the middle of 18 fairway. Good tees. Playable traps. Fairways cut good lies minimal roll. Still some deep rough outside fairways but being cut. Greens very good but very firm and good speed and playable. Great customer service everywhere. Had lunch and had a great tuna salad sandwich. POP was great at 3.5 H.

Course is still very wet. No carts walking only and will be decided day by day so call ahead. Greens were in great shape but tees traps fairways still wet and soogy. IMO it will take several days of ... Continue »

Played today. Course has dried out very well since last week with only a few bad spots. The middle of 18 fairway is still a problem. All fairways, tees and greens have been cleaned. Tee boxes all good. Fairways all in decent shape with great lies and fair roll out. Traps were all playable. Greens are in the best shape I have ever seen them. Customer service excellent at all levels.

A little late and lazy, I'm pointing at 24hourgolf's 1/14 review as a start and adding a little, based on my 12:00 round of Friday, 1/26. In addition to his observations, the overall quality of the lies both on the tees and in the fairways stood out to me as nicer than I've seen in a while. There are exceptions, like the lead up to the green on the par-5 6th is always sketchy but, overall very nice. The exception to otherwise nice teeing grounds was the whites on the par-3 13th, which was basically a sidehill lie. We teed up out to the box on a flat section. I booked as a single and was paired with a trio of attorneys who were good company as a group. It was also a rare day in that we never had anyone in front of us. Not particularly quick as a group, the group behind was even slower so we were never pressed and usually had empty space behind us too — although heaven help the backlog behind them. A shorter course, I usually play the blues, but given the threesome was playing white, I went along with it and enjoyed the slight difference as a change of pace. Nice conditions and always friendly service. Recommended.

Greens are just great. Firm but hold and release shots. And have good speed. Excellent customer service from Dillon and Julia in the shop.

Played yesterday afternoon. A little to cold to play early AM. IMO course is not in good shape at the moment since the recent rains. It appears maintenance has not been able to get after the course. They said it would happen today hopefully. The fairways are still a little rough with high grass, some wet areas that have not completely dried out. You get some good lies, some muddy lies and some unplayable lies as of yesterday. And you get no roll out. Tee boxes were good but need moving as they are getting chewed up. Traps were so so but need work. Greens were the highlight. Hold high shots, release shots and but are firm and will send errant shots off the green. But they have good speed and especially from above the hole. Great customer service from Stu in the shop. And be advised that rates have gone up since Jan 1st. I won't rate today as it would be unfair to do so. But if they can mow and trim today/tomorrow I think the course should be in good playing condition with the winds drying it out and sunny skies predicted this week.

Played this AM. Course is still soggy from the rains. Funny I did not feel it rained that much here in the area. While the fairways are still damp little to no roll out. You might even get a plugged one occasionally. They also have not been mowed lately and the rough is not manageable. Tee boxes are all playable. And surprisingly the traps are also. Greens are fine and chip and putt with good speed of about 8/9. Excellent customer service from Dillon and Julia as usual and from Rich who runs the cart area. And Troon is raising prices beginning Jan 1. But not for Seniors. Merry Christmas / Happy New Year and wishing great golf for 24 to all GK and new GK members.
