Played Alhambra as a walk up single on 7/4/2010. Course was in very good shape with smooth greens. Customer service was great. Please note that the new scorecard has a yardage for a new set of back "black" tees. The old back tees, the blues, were listed at 5212 yards on this short par 70 course. The new scorecard has yardage of 5266 for the blues and 5461 for the blacks with no USGA/Slope ratings yet for the latter. In most cases, there are not new tee boxes on each hole, rather new black tee markers have been placed at the tips of the existing back tee boxes. Usually 5 to 10 yards behind the blues. One exception is #3 where the tee box has actually been built back some 40 yards. It is now 293 from the tips and more difficult to drive the green. #4 is another short par 4, 256 from the blues, but with a new black tee marker of 276 yards up on the tee used for the par 3 #15 which goes the opposite direction. I think putting the tees at the tips could help the pace of play at this course. Some of the par 4's were so short that a long hitter may have to wait for the green to clear in order to tee off. This could happen several times a round. Now, there are more par 4's in the 300 yard range that had been 260 yards, so the green should be just out of reach for all but the longest hitters. A drive and a pitch will make for less backups.

Nice short course, when it's not windy. There are many short par 4 holes that are driveable, that is if your driver goes straight. Not a tough course when the wind is down and pretty easy to walk most of it. A couple areas of water to lose a ball or 2, but you should be fine with just a sleeve. Conditions are pretty good, not spectacular like a private tournament course, but no major areas of concern that I saw. Practice putting green is much faster than the actual course greens, so don't practice too much on them before your round. Had a good time playing with 2 other GKers TonyBarrett and BobDaNinja.

Played 5/23/10 with Paisano and tonybarrett. Wind was blowing crazy amounts. Course was a lot of fun and in good condition. It's in much better shape than the courses I normally have been playing (Brookside), and the price is comparable. $30 to walk, $43 to ride. Greens were not too fast. Never tested out any of the bunkers, so an't comment on those. Seemed like it should have been easier than what I ended up shooting. Of course, everything will probably look easy compared to PGA West for a while.

Took about a 7 month layoff from Golf and decided to pick the sticks back up and swing away. Friends all decided to play at Alhambra Golf Course and I've been usually scoring in the 100's before my layoff.
I was very impressed on how this course was well kept when we played on 4/25/10 and the greens (from all muni course, they stink and there slow) were surprisingly fast.
I ended up shooting the best round in my life which was an 86 and thanks to this course, I'm hooked on golf again and my confidence has grown.

Played early morning Jul 18. I hadn't played a full 18 on this course in over 15 yrs, so I was looking forward to playing it again. The course is in above average condition, and for the $28 prime time weekend walking rate, I'd say it was a bargain. The greens were medium fast and smooth; they were relatively free of ballmarks and were much better than I remembered. There were some brown patches in some of the fairways, but it wasn't a major annoyance at all. The front 9 is flat and uninspiring, but the back 9 plays like a different course. The back has significant elevation changes and is a bear to walk on a hot day. While it is a short course, it plays longer and the slope rating should be much higher than it is. There is a lot more trouble out there than the course rating suggests. The grill is small, but the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Played Alhambra at 5:55 am on Sat. 6/27. Course was in good condition all around. It looks like they are working on the green edges - maybe making some smaller, I'm not sure. It looks like a transition from green to fringe is taking place. This has little impact on the way the greens and fringes play, except the holes were tucked close to the edges, probably for a Men's club tournament later that afternoon. It is certainly not a reason to avoid the course. Customer service was fantastic. I made a hole-in-one on #15 and the pro shop staff gave me a free trophy and paid for it to be engraved. I was not expecting that at all for a round that costs only $28 - very nice of them.

Arrgh. Took the time to write a full review and accidentally deleted it. Too much to rewrite -- here's the recap. Played yesterday. Some good tee boxes, a lot unlevel and/or chewed up. Otherwise, everything is in good shape and green. No thin lies in fairways, well defined rough, medium fast greens contoured enough and in good shape except for a lot of pitch marks. Hit a couple of bunkers and the sand was good. Flat front nine, hilly back, short course overall, leave the driver at home and work on everything else. Nice staff, weekday rate $23 to walk. Twilight would be a real bargain here this time of year. No serious challenge, but a nice little course with some subtle challenges for practice or spur-of-the-moment casual round. It's been a while since the last time I was here (my first time here), I'll come back a bit sooner for the next one.

love playing this course. it might be small in comparison to eagle glen but its a very well kept golf course. the service is also very good. and the 19th hole is great.
