Had to post a review here. Grew up on this course and havnt played it in years and I can honestly say I cant recall it ever being in such nice shape. Great work on the overseeding of the fairways and t boxes- Several were lenghtened in areas I cannot recall to add to the distance of this short course. Pleasantly surprised on the green quality. When you check in, there is a box of free ball mark tools with the sign saying take one as long as you repair your own ball mark and 2 others- Great idea- why isnt anyone else doing this? Im sure it has already paid for itself. Nice work greenskeeper!

It's been many years since I last played this course. I had the late morning off...had no desire to play Brookside, and didn't have the time to run out along the 15 to play Goose or the Quarry.

Decided, after reading the GK reviews, that I'd give Alhambra GC (didn't it used to be called "Almansor"?) a try.

And I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, the conditions/rating for this track is about right. It's good. Just "good". The greens were very good...a few scars, but - I've certainly played on much worse. The fairways were also "good" - maybe a little thin in spots, but overall good coverage, A mixture of grasses might make it all a little uneven, but very playable and gavepretty good roll.

Tee boxes are a little off-level...and lots of divots. One tee box was all dug up and a new French drain was being put in. This is not a "driver on every par-four" kind of course. It's short, and good shotmaking is what is needed.

Overall a very nice way to spend the morning. 4.0 hours...and there were some serious back-ups on the par-threes. No marshalls. This should change. They have back-to-back par-threes on the front side (#7 and #8?) and it's a natural bottleneck. There were four groups waiting at one point.

I will be back. Alhambra GC is the closest track to my home and playing this course regularly could be very good for my game.

This is a short, but decent course. On the day I played (10-24-08) they had overwatered and some areas, especially the tee boxes were really muddy. Overall it was an ok experience.

For the price it is a good deal and good course. You don't need to call in early to get a good time. Pace is usually good when I go.

About 31 bucks on the weekends with a cart for a round. Many different types of holes, from long ponds to shoot over to rolling hills. Lots of places to get you pleasantly frustrated. Good place to use all of your clubs. Nice hazards to make it interesting with long lakes and rolling hills.

That being said, once they get the greens to come back all the way this is a good course for groups of varying skill levels. It's short enough for beginners to learn on yet has enough challenging holes that a more skilled player will enjoy as well. There are a number of holes where you will be weighing risk and reward while deciding club selection. OB tends to come into play on a number of holes.

Easy to get on as a single even on weekends. Plus the green fees are only $24 walking on weekends as well.

Recommended for 13+ handicappers. Once the greens are repaired you really can't beat the value.

pace is so slow...this short course took us over 5 hours to finish...too many beginners playing i'm guessing...

the course it self is so packed....if your shot is just a little off from the tee, you better yell fore...cuz it will probably end up at another tee box

I haven't played here in over 6yrs and I found it the condition of the course very disappointing. Dry, patchy tee boxes covered in divots. Most of the fairways had brown patches and hardpan areas throughout. There may have been a problem with their sprinkler system because there was a huge ditch dug up behind the green at Hole#3. Greens were very soft leaving ball marks all over them. Why don't people repair their ball marks? Again, brown patches on almost every green and putts don't roll true from the bumpy conditions.

Its a very short track and what makes it fun is deciding on whether to use driver to drive the greens or 7 iron, wedge on all the short Par 4s. Best hole for me is the dogleg left at #18. An uphill teeshot with a huge tree on the corner protected by the driving range directly to the left of it. If you don't have the heart to cut that corner you can always stay on the right of that tree but be careful using driver cuz you may overshoot the fairway.

We got out at 11:30 on 7/13 and it was humid out there. The $24 wknd green fees adds value to a course where you can get creative with club selection off the tees.
