Played here Memorial Day right after my complimentary birthday round at Monarch Beach Golf Links as a continuation of "the wife said I could play as much as I can" golf fix. My brother had set up a quick 18-hole, twilight round at his local track located in the city of Alhambra just north of the 10-freeway.

After finishing a round at a 5-star course located next to the Pacific Ocean, I was wondering how this track would stack up. To my surprise, it is not too bad. Although not nearly as challenging, this track will keep your short game in tune. We tee'd off at 3:00 PM and it wasn't crowded at all.

Most of the Par 4's are driveable and there is at least one or two Par 5's that are reachable in two. Fairways were in good condition and the greens were medium to fast which, was rather surprising. Tee boxes could use some work. There were a few tee boxes where the ground was so hard, I had trouble getting a tee into the ground.

This track has a fair share of beginners so, errant shots are common. They do have a 3-level driving range, chipping and putting area. They have a snack bar but, no cart attendant.

We finished the round (walking) in just under 4-1/2 hours. The front nine was relatively flat compared to the back. All in all, I had a great time and would definitely play here again during the twilight hours.

greens were perfect. smoooooth.. just the way i like it. i;ve compared the greens here to some of the high end courses. front 9 is flat, easy walk...back 9 is always a tougher walk with all the hills - ouch! overall - a fun course to bring the weeknd to a close.

Great course for a casual round. A short course, at not much over 5000, and a par 70. Most par 4's are right around the 300 mark, meaning you can drive it close or play 2 easy irons to the greens. Greens and fairways are in great condition and nothing to complain about. Course is easy to walk on the front 9, but you will get a little tired the last few holes.

great value. course is short and does not require driver on some of the par4s. you have to play it a few times to realize sometimes the best option is using your hybrid or even an iron off the tee. green quality have dropped a bit. it is still pretty good but not as smooth as it used to be. putts roll true but surface is a bit furry lately. it used to be silky smooth and easily compare it to the high end courses. overall a nice track to play.

This was my second time at this course. It has been a couple of years and I can say that conditions seem much better than before. Greens were in good condition, and I did not see too many ball marks on any of them. I thought they rolled true and were not bumpy. A sign at the first tee stated: greens 9.5 Stimp, fairway and tees cut to 0.5", rough cut to 1.5". Fairways and rough were lush and divots were mostly replaced or filled with divot mix; in fact, every tee box had divot mix. I kept my old Gatorade bottle filled with mix as I was walking. I was in a couple of sand traps. Other than the many footprints, sand was plentiful and soft. Pace of play was a really slow as there were multiple groups playing competitively for money or bragging rights. I think we were right at 5.5 hours.

They have a million signs telling everyone to repair them but no one bothers to read them. Overall the course was in good condition. The red dot book is the only thing that keeps this place on my radar, not a place I keep on my rotation since Dad Miller is closer to me.

I had not played here since 2004. I always enjoyed this little course, because aside from being an "ego builder" there are actually a number of good holes on this course. The greens were fantastic, as good as anywhere else I've played recently. The rest of the course...... not so great. Fun place to play. Lots of birdie opportunities, which always makes for a good time.

Played last week. Staff was great. Many tee boxes were under repair and used alternate tee boxes . Greens are nearly fully recovered from recent aeration. Fairways in very good shape. Enjoyed the round. Walked in a foursome and finished slightly over 4 hours. If you don't hit it straight you will find yourself in bailout mode. Many trees and hazards for those that do not hit straight. Do not be deceived by the short yardage of the course. One of my playing partners played this for the first time. Called the course a sissy course. He shot a 125.
