Not much change from last week. Tee boxes still undergoing reseeding and all closed. By the looks of them (some not getting much sun) they won't be available possibly by week of Dec 5 (just my guess and opinion). The rest of the course is in very nice shape. But with the tee boxes all moved up, it really does not make the course very enjoyable IMO. They are though charging lower rates during the process.

Out early this AM on a beautiful morning for golf (I hope I see many many more like today). Found today that they started over seeding all tee boxes on Nov 8. So ALL markers were moved WAY up making the course play really short. The fairways, traps, greens were all in great shape. I would expect at least another 2 weeks (after looking at the tees) before the course will be back to its normal length. And no they are not offering any discounts due to the work in progress. But the restaurant serves great food. And check in was great (thanks Justin).

Nice to have DST for early golf. Nice to play early and behind the greens mower. Course is in nice shape at the moment. Tee boxes all clean/level playable. Fairways have good coverage, good lies and good roll. Bunkers were all clean/playable and all have rakes. Very little rough but early AM it is damp and plays more difficult than dry. Greens are in great shape. They hold shots, release shots and chip/putt with good speed (9/10) and following the mower was great. Restaurant opens at 6 and serves full menu (and good food priced right). Customer service at check in was great as usual. May not be overly long but it gives one a good round of golf.

Played this AM. They had the black tees out today for a men's club tournament (which we played in front of). It was a nice change playing from these tees which are never out. Course is in really nice shape at present. Tee boxes clean/level. Fairways have good coverage, lies and roll out. Bunkers are all playable and rakes available. Greens are running about 8/9 in speed and hold, release shots and chip/putt very well. Excellent customer service at all levels. Restaurant open at 6 AM on Sundays with a full menu.

Played this AM prior to men's club tournament. Course is in nice shape at the moment. Tee boxes were all playable from the areas the markers were set at. Fairways (though damp to start) had good coverage with roll out building as they dried out. Traps were all playable and had rakes. Low rough and it was sticky and wet on the front nine but playable. Greens have healed very nice from aeration 2 weeks ago. We were behind the mowers so we got fresh cut greens all round. They had no divots/marks and chipped/putted with medium speed. When they can cut them shorter no doubt they will be nice and fast? Great customer service from the ladies at check in. No time for restaurant today but it was open at 6 AM and serving a full menu.

Out again this AM. Greens are healing nicely and should be great end of week. Fairways were clean/mowed and had good lies/roll all round. Rough has been cut down and not a factor. Traps have been worked and were playable and had rakes. Tee boxes all had good coverage. Restaurant is open at 6 AM with great food/prices to prepare for sunrise golf. Great customer service from everyone. $28 Sr to walk. Troon's takeover has tremendously improved this course IMO at all levels.

Joined a friend for a late afternoon round after his work. Sunny skies but a nice cool breeze and plenty of water kept things under control. They just aerated M/T so I was hesitant to play but the greens were done very nicely and the sand had all been removed. So they were not as bad as I had expected. Tee boxes all playable. Fairways had good coverage and decent roll out. Not in any bunkers but those who were had no complaints. Very little rough to deal with. Fast easy check in and got done in 3.5 surprising hours. If you want healed greens, I would wait another week to 10 days (IMO) for that to be the case. Restaurant open and nice outside patio for food/drinks after the round.

Played a Friday twilight round at Alhambra with Mattias and found the course to be in pre-maintenance form with a few areas of disrepair ahead of this week's fix. They always generally take excellent care of this little short-course gem, but it looks like they left it a little frayed around the edges the final weekend before all the work being done starting today.

The check-in was very generous by giving us a discounted rate for some reason but that's always appreciated. We both walked and played from the blue tees. As previously mentioned, this is a very short course with a number of reachable par 4s so low scores are definitely in your wheelhouse.

As for the conditions, a few areas of neglect in terms of GUR sections and some rough edges around the greens, but mainly it was quite poor tee boxes that stood out. Again, with major course maintenance coming up this week, it's understandable. The greens still putted at medium speed and were in decent to goo shape, while the fairways were 65-75% green and lush, but some thin areas also. Bunkers were in need of some more sand but not awful.

POP was pretty good throughout the afternoon so no complaints there. Of course I would wait now a few weeks after the aeration dates of 9/27-28 before stopping by again, but after those few weeks I'm sure that Alhambra will go right back to doing the great job they always do looking after their fun little facility.

Played this AM on a wet/soggy course. Lots of water due to current heat. Early AM it is wet, damp and soggy. In the low lying areas of the course you will find standing water as well. The dampness left the traps not very playable. No roll in the fairways though the fairways have good coverage and decent lies for the most part. Tee boxes were OK as they have moved them around letting the beat up areas grow in so we had no issues. Rough was 1/2 to 1 inch and sticky outside of the fairways and around the greens. Greens were all in good shape and chipped/putted with medium speed. I liked seeing the marshal out using his divot repair device while we were playing and it showed when you were on the greens (nice touch). Restaurant is now open and today it opened at 6 AM with a full menu. Each day has different hours and either full or slimmed down menu (more info on the updated website). Customer service excellent at all levels. Sad to see one of the employees (Mathew) leave but the ladies in the shop have taken over with gusto.
