Played this AM. Very cool to start. Great check in with staff as always. Tee boxes are playable but still need some filling in from past maintenance. Fairways were damp and gave no roll out. Some fairways are lush while others are not, so lies are spotty at best. Traps were playable. Very little rough but playable. Greens were fine and chipped/putted well but some greens have issues around edges that appear to be a fungus. Course is in typical S CA winter conditions at present.

Played this AM on the first day of early sunrise. Great day for golf (what day isn't). Perfect check in and customer service as always from Jasmine. Tee boxes have all filled in. Fairways are good with only a few bare spots but early morning one has to deal with mud this time of the year on some of the fairways. Always had a good lie and decent roll out. Traps were all clean and playable. Rough outside fairways and around the greens was ok and playable. Greens were all clean and chipped/putted just fine. I did notice that there are about 3/4 greens that have a fungus they are dealing with and all of it on each green is around the edges.

Got out this morning. All tee boxes are now open. Some could use mowing but they were all playable. Most fairways had good coverage but there are some that have bare areas. All of them provided good ... Continue »

Got out this morning. All tee boxes are now open. Some could use mowing but they were all playable. Most fairways had good coverage but there are some that have bare areas. All of them provided good roll. Traps all playable. Greens punched 2 weeks ago but all are almost healed very well and chip and putt just fine. Great customer service as always from Jasmine and others.

Went out yesterday to play twilight. Shop informed me that the tee boxes were still all closed and would be for another 2 weeks. Decided to not play as all the tee markers had been moved up in front of all the red tee boxes. Course plays short as it is and I could already see that things were stacked up on 1, 2, 7 and 8. Greens have all been punched and staff says they are all in good shape and I have no reason to doubt them. Now you know before you go.

My buddy and I joined two singles as we went out late Saturday 9/10 for a 4:30 tee off that netted us 11 holes before quitting in the gloom. Teeing grounds here are above average as to nice coverage and usually level. The newly rebuilt tee on the par-3 7th hole is a big improvement. Fairways were mostly in decent shape with a less rollout than usual due to the moisture laid down earlier that day by the weather. The latter part of the par-5 6th hole consistently tends to be a little sketchy with bare spots, but that is more of an exception. Rough was occasionally heavy enough to be an challenge but more often it is not very punitive here. Missed the bunkers, which looked clean enough. The greens were in nice shape. They typically can be a little quick with some subtle breaks but on the day they were an atypical medium speed — again, due to the moisture and maybe missing a pass with the mower — but no complaints.

We were a bit slower than the group ahead and so couldn't complain about pace, moving along steadily. Service here is always friendly and efficient. Getting out earlier would have been nice, but it was a spontaneous, late decision to play. After the siege of heat, I was just happy to get out on a course in reasonable temperatures for a few holes. Played well, good times.

Wanted something close fast and able to beat the heat. This fit the bill. Course while wet is in good condition, except for some tee boxes. It would appear heat got to some of the tees. But the tee boxes affected are GUR but markers are set in good areas of the tee box. Fairways all lush and playable with good lies. Traps cleaned and playable. Greens are all in really nice shape. Great customer service at check in as usual. Took a cart and POP was 2 H.

Joined a friend this AM for a round before the heat. Was surprised to learn that they were sanding the greens. Was told this by a maintenance worker on the course and not the shop when I checked in. So the front was done yesterday and the back today. And while the greens look good, the sand is a big factor in putting. In addition to the greens being sanded, it appears the heat has done damage to several tee boxes. Some were just fine but others not so good. Was surprised that they had some of the markers in the bad areas? The fairways were damp as usual early in the AM and really did not see any problems with them, other than not getting any roll out but the lies were good. Traps all appeared playable and playing partners did not voice any issues. Fast friendly check in (thanks Justin).

I essentially consider this my home course and play it regularly as it's a fun layout that a mid-handicapper should be able to post some low scores on while offering enough of a challenge to be repeatedly interesting. The main defense here are the trees so if you're straight off the tee you're gonna do great. Front 9 is especially easy with short par 4s and generally flat. Back 9 is my favorite as you'll get a little more elevation. Played here Sunday 7/24, hoping to feel better about my game after a rough round the previous day. Noticed the course right now is still in good shape, especially the greens. They are soft and you won't get much roll out on approaches and you probably have to putt the ball harder than you think to get to the hole but roll pretty true. Fairways have their thin spots but mostly offering good lies right now. Tee boxes can be unlevel or divot-filled but aren't too much of an issue. I always tell people how great this course is and maybe I'm biased but between the facilities being well kept and the service being very good, it really keeps me excited to go back.
