Teed off at 6:30 a.m. this morning. I have not played here in a while and they have made some changes, chiefly by making some of the greens smaller and shaving the rough around the greens. This has also means that some of the greenside bunkers are farther from the green, making for tougher bunker shots. The fairways were generally good with some bare spots and some less lush areas. The greens were excellent although not as quick as they have been in the past. The tee boxes were a little shaggy. The rough was okay - they are still keeping it down enough to find your ball although it took some considerable searching a couple of times. They are adding sand to the bunkers so some of them had mounds of sand at one end. Surprisingly, those bunkers were still in play. The sand traps that did not have new sand were thin and hard. The sand they are using is beach sand and very, very fluffy in those bunkers where they have finished adding it. I was in one of the fairway bunkers on the left on 10 and my ball stuck in the face. My foot sank a foot deep. Not what you want to see on a fairway bunker on a par five. I would give the course conditions a "B". Our round was five hours. We hoped for more considering the time we teed off but it was not surprising.

We played on Sat morning and were sent out at a 5 some after a 3 some so the pace of play wasn't too bad. The fairways were lush but poorly defined. The greens were fast but inconsistent on the firmness. Some greens bit and held while others slid and skidded. For a public course on a weekend it was worth the green fee.

$25 before Twilight is not a bad price if the pace of play is fast and you can get out around 1:30PM. We managed both and it was well worth the price. Greens in good shape. A little bouncy but I think that is due to folks not fixing their divots or debris on the green. Balls roll true and speed is little on the slow side. Greens are receptive but folks really now FIX YOUR DIVOTS!! Some of the greens on the back have what looks like damage from birds -- a little chewed up in spots. Thankfully the hole placement was well away from that mischief. Tee boxes are flat and lush. Fairways are a little on the thin side but by no means unplayable. In fact they are very playable. It's typical for this time of the year so don't expect lush fairways just yet. Rough is thick a little inconsistent but very tough and sticky. My biggest gripe are some of the fairway bunkers. No sand. Hard pan and I experienced this in not one, not two but four bunkers.

Pace of play was blistering. We finished 18 just as the sun descended. Finished around 4 hours for 18 holes. Not bad considering we were expecting to only play 14/15 holes.

Saw cart gal twice. Great service. Pretty good conditions just stay out of the bunkers. For a Thursday I would play it again if the pace of play continues to be fast.

Played this track for the first time by booking my tee time on GolfZing.com. This internet tee time provider is not bad at all. It doesn’t offer all of the courses, but still offers some great deals including the rate for El Dorado. Firstly, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the practice putting greens rolled. I could only hope that the rest of the greens rolled as true. Next, the driving range was allowing players to hit off of grass. I haven’t been to many tracks that allow for players to hit off of grass, so this was a nice treat.

This is by no means a long course. I would comment on the difficulty (or lack of), but we all end up making the track more difficult by ourselves. The pace of play is a concern out here. More than the dormant grass turning brown on some of the fairways. Fivesomes are common, as we as groups tee’ing off of inappropriate markers.

I did manage to see the beverage cart on more than a few occasions. The snack bar is well stocked, and the food is not that bad. The pro shop was nicer than most of the other muni’s I have played. Overall, I wasn’t in a hurry to get done, and present company made it for a fun day.

This track is conveniently located, and I would recommend it to anyone not looking for a 4-hour round.

I concur with sgernz. Teed off this morning at 7:00 and it was about 38 degrees. The coldest I have been while golfing in 2011. We had to knock ice off our spikes for the first 6 holes. The 1st and 4th greens were pretty much frozen. By the end of the day, it was almost 70 degrees. Played in 4:45. The worst part of the round was the koot manure. It was all over the holes with water. Otherwise, the lies were fairly thin but the greens were good.

Frost delay at the Navy course this AM so I jogged up to Eldo and they were letting 'em play ... go figure. One of the coldest mornings I can remember for some time, like 45* when we teed off. The winds from Thursday knocked leaves all over, but the crew were cleaning up best they could on a crowed Friday. Super slow 5.5 hour round. Everything a bit crusty until the sun warmed it up. Like many courses this time of year, fairways a bit thing, greens bumpy, gotta really spot your ball if it heads into the rough. Just a difficult morning for golf ... I don't recommend early tee times during the holiday season unless things warm up.

Played 11/30/11 for $39 through Golfzing. The course was playing really nice, I suggest you get out sooner than later. Fairway with some soggy spots not drying due to the recent cold weather. Greens were rolling well with some bumps, fairways o.k. except for some soggy areas and only a couple of the tee boxes uneven enough to complain about. Played in a little under 4.5 hours, it was a good day...

Played 09/20/2011 on a Tuesday around noon. I live in West LA and was home a little after 5. Pace of play was superb. Greens were in great shape quick but too not fast. Tee boxes fair to good fairways a bit better. Rough... doesn't matter. If your in the rough chances are you close to or in the trees. Don't hit it there and if you do deal with it. Service was great. Ordered lunch. Not ready for the tee time. They drove out and delivered it to the first tee.
