played 'babe' after the kia classic. they were taking down the grandstand on 18 - couldnt believe how close it was to the green! course condition - the best i have ever seen. greens were fast. smooth (except for some that were mini-punched). the multi-tiered greens were a lot of fun. rough area was challenging, 2-3 inches deep. balls sit down so u have to be right over the ball to even see it. tough to get a decent shot out. fluffy white sand in the bunkers. tee times were spaced 10 mins apart. so while there was a 2some behind us (3some) we hardly ever saw them except for holes we had to wait (guys in front was a 4some). pace was decent. was expecting 5 hour round but we finished a little over 4. always a pleasure to play here and with conditions like these, definitely worth coming back.

Played the Babe course today. The course is exceptional condition and most of the greens were running true without flaws.
The course is narrow and requires accuracy off the tee. But it's not an overly long course and it can become target golf if you're hitting fairways. A lot of wedges and nine-irons into greens from the black tees and birdies to be made. However, the greens are tricky and pin positioning is clever on multi-level greens.
It has some nice elevated tees and several dog-leg holes. It's one of those courses where you have to use your 2 iron or hybrid a lot off the tee for accuracy/doglegs but it's certainly worth it once you're on the fairways. The greens are wide and inviting yet still encourage shot-making because of their complexity.
Overall, a n excellent golf course. A nice test and a rewarding course. The amenities of the place look exceptional although I was only there to play golf.
I'll certainly be back.!

Played morning of Feb 12/Sat. The Babe is in top notch shape. I think the front 9 is going to be used for the Kia Classic. The course is immaculate right now; greens are rolling fast and smooth, a lot of the rough has been cut down, tee boxes are looking great, and the fairways are tight. The superintendent is doing a terrific job. If you come out and play in the next couple of weeks, be aware that some tee boxes are closed and you may also notice some other cosmetic changes. Some trees have been removed and the sightlines are improving. This facility isn't sitting on its hands - they're continuing the improvements here all the time.

Played Industry Hills "Babe" Course today (01/29/11) and was not disappointed with course conditions at all. After playing 18-holes at L.A. Royal Vista earlier this AM at a different course, my group decided to take on another 18-holes at a track with superior conditions. What better place than Industry Hills?

For those that have never played the Babe, bring your "straight game." Fairways are much tighter and has more dog legs and blind shots than the Ike. If you are long with your driver (280+) you might be able to drive a few of the Par 4's. There are plenty of well protected greens with false fronts, multi-levels (3) and challenging pin locations. This track will give you and your fairway woods a great workout!

This track is in great condition. Fairways were nicely manicured with very little to no brown spots, rough was a little on the thick side, bunkers were full of sand and the greens were rolling true. However, there was one green (#4) that looked as though it had some sort of treatment on the surface and caused a bumpy roll.

Again, with the amount they charge for green fees you would think that you would get a deluxe golf cart with GPS. The cart we had was horrible. The battery started to die by Hole #6. We called the pro shop and they had a new cart for us by the time we were ready to tee off on the very next hole.

The pace of play was pleasantly fast for a Saturday afternoon. We finished the round in just over 4-hours. We saw the cart attendant just once. The Babe course has no snack bar so, bring your own snacks and/or a small cooler with beverages.

Overall, this course will not let you down. The customer service is fantastic. The snack bar food is better than "good." The practice putting greens are true. The practice chipping area is very nice. You will be surprised at how green this place looks in spite of all the recent rain and cold weather in Socal. Most of the other courses I have played recently are slowly turning brown in the fairways.

Played 1/1/11. Play was very slow due to the deep rough, and I mean US Open type of stuff. We played lift clean and place cuz of the soft, muddy conditions. Greens are in great shape but the course is playing long due to no fairway roll. I hear new golf carts are coming the end of January, about time. Prep for the LPGA event in March is underway, too, so ask before you book a tee time if the course is playing all holes to regulation.

Played 11/24 - pace of play great even though there were a lot of people out just before t-giving. 4.15 hours overall.

Tough, tough course - local knowledge and experience would help, especially off the tee as you need to know the line on the drive to ensure that you can see the green around the doglegs and past the blocking "tree" that seemed to populate one side of the landing area on every fairway. (no gps or graphics on the ancient carts that barely make it up the hills).

When the "easiest" rated hole on the scorecard plays 215 to the back pin position then you know you're not in Kansas any more. (one "par three" is 241 from the blues/300 from the tips - and this on a course measuring a tad over 6500).

Conditions were very good to great throughout, although the course was a bit on the soft side overall. Greens still show the aeration pattern but were running pretty quick and mostly true. You have to be on the right section of the green to have a realistic 2-putt. Tight off the tee and crucial to get on the correct side to take aim at some very wide but shallow greens.

I thought it was a great challenge and certainly never straightforward - if you like a meaty golf experience then this should fit the bill.

Played on Wednesday 11/17. Course in tip top shape. Tee boxes in good shape, fairways are lush with some divots, bunkers had good sand. Greens are were quick speed even though they had been sanded, with a few ball marks. They bring in a lot of out of towners and I guess they don't fix ball marks at home. Held high soft shots, but some ran. One of the crew said they cut them every day, or try to roll them. Played in 3 1/2 hours, 8AM tee time, got out at 7:50, no one in front, 3some caught us on 7th hole but fell back about a 1/2 hole. We did not have them waiting for shots, so all was good. Price was right, guest of a member so got a good deal.

Heard the LPGA will be playing here next year in March sometime. Should be interesting if they do come and watch them play here.

Sure makes you have to think when hitting your approach cuz you cannot be above the hole, period. Fairways open to carts and are lush. Just all around great golf.

Greens are just about as good as it gets. Played in 4:15 today, teed off at 7:30am. A week of dry weather and the Babe will be set for the Fall.
