This course is great. I was really suprised at how good of shape the course was in. I do think that the dept of the rough left for a long rounds unless you keep it in the center. Our group lost a few balls that we saw land just off the fairway and we knew should have been in play. Other wise we would have been in at about 4 and a quater hours instead of near 5 hours. The staff was very polite but seemed distaracted. We asked the starter where the resturaunt was and he told us there wasnt one. We then went into proshop luckly because they told us where to go. Other than that it was a great day. I would have to say still the price is high and would play their only at a discount.

Played in the 6/22/09 GK outing. Very fun times here, yet somewhat challenging. Previous course knowledge is needed, as there are many tee shots where you can't see where the green is. Carts have no GPS, so you will have to go sprinkler hunting, but there is always one by within 20 yards or so. Greens are great. Many have undulations and different tiers, yet they all roll true. Par 3's over water are fun. Rough is good and bad, some good grass, while other parts are not that great, and I was in it a lot. Bunkers were great and sand was perfect. Definately a course to play in LA, and will come again.

greens but that was our undoing. We both needed more course knowledge. We will be
back.

I think the Greenskeeper at IH read my previous post and cut the green down just for me. The speed was perfect over the weekend and they're rolling very true. The rest of the course is beautiful as well ... glad to see the consistent maintenance of a great test of golf. But be prepared when you come here: you MUST be able to keep the ball in the fairway or at least in play ... or bring lots of balls.

Just in great shape although I'd like to see the greens just a bit faster. Be careful of some of the water puddling in the low lying areas ... otherwise, well worth it!

Overall this course was in great shape and a real challenge to play, straight tee shots are rewarded and pars are not unreasonable. Definitely worth the time to play at one of the best courses in the metro area. Mondays they have a special for $50.00 a round!

Played at 0630 on Sunday morning. Played in exactly 4 hours. Course in great shape. Greens rolled very well. Look towards the valley everything rolls off the hill. Don't need to bomb it here. I hit a lot of hybrids and 3W off the tee. Fun day will be back next week for the SCGA Net Am.

Played afternoon 4/10/09. The Babe still is in fantastic shape. The greens are as good as I've ever seen them - receptive, but very, very smooth and fast. Even the green on #2 is in great shape; sometimes this green is a little choppy (I think it's due to a drainage issue...), but not anymore. The rough is pretty lush right now; some areas bordering on 4-5 inches. So keep a hawkeye on your tee ball b/c it can settle down in the rough and be difficult to find. One more thing: both of these courses are serious challenges, particularly from the blue and back tees. So if you're a casual golfer and only play 4-5 times a year and you don't hit it very solidly or consistently, I promise you that you'll have a better time playing from the white or even forward tees. A "casual golfer" group was in front of me today playing from the back...and they didn't seem to be having much fun.
