Gotta love the Babe. Course is in decent shape with greens rolling fairly smooth. Fairways were lush and I noticed they were getting a bit thicker for rough. Grass is growing nicely and you can see their antics on Ike as they get it ready for later this year or was it next? At any rate weekday play was fairly brisk. Grass is in great shape. Greens rolling nicely but noticeably slower compared to what I have seen this course do in the past. Started at 8:30 and was done by 12:00 so I was a happy camper.

Played this morning @ 7am. The course was in excellent shape, especially the greens, which were fast and undulating. I wondered to myself if the humps in the greens were made more severe when they closed the course a while back. Some of the greens and pin placements were treacherous. I love it when it's super tough. My putting wasn't exactly up to the challenge, but it was fun nevertheless. So, the greens were great (though a little soft in parts), the fairways were lush, but the tee boxes were another matter altogether. Close to half of them were tilted and many were in disrepair. This is odd considering that I played from the tips, which do not get as much play as the whites or the blues. That being said, maybe the groundscrew neglects the black tees because they are not used very often. Who knows the reason. Either way, too many tee boxes were bare and the grass was not mown closely. Other than that, it was a great experience. This is one of my all-time favorite tracks.

I'm play several time this course. But every time I got a challenge because each time I went this place just make me crazy!!!!!!!!

Anyway I love this place with eisenhower course too.

Played Babe for the first time in around 5 years. Course is in great shape. Although for the money why haven't they added a distance meter. Sure all the sprinklers are marked. But Having a better idea of the layout would have been nice. My hardest problem was the greens though. Extra large, hard greens but fortunately rolling true. I have NEVER seen a green so smooth as that of Babe. It was an experience, only wish my short game was there to assist. Appearently it took a back seat and was inclinded to mock my play. No matter. It is a premium course. Nice features and very challenging. Great shape is the best way to describe this course and if you don't bring your A game, or at least a suitable B-game it will leave you in the dust.

Played on December 14th. First time playing here. Course conditions were great. This is a tough course! Some of the fairways were a little muddy in spots. Also some of the holes were a little bit narrow for me. Lost a few balls on this course. Some of the pin placements were tough especially on the eighth hole. This course is very challenging. Pace of play was a little slow on the back nine. Wouldn't mind coming back here again.

Might be time for an update Mr. Greenskeeper. A course survey rating at around 7 for either of these courses is a joke - get in the game and update these courses more often - they are two of the toughest tests of golf in SoCal.

I played with a friend today. Got out first thing and played back nine Eisenhower and back nine Zaharias - just to mix it up a bit. Eisenhower is very dry, greens are dry and very fast - not holding shots very well a la the standard PGA tour set up. But excellent regardless.

The Babe is also running fast, but the greens are holding, and other than a slight bit of sketchy lies for overseeding on the sides of the fairways, it is a 10. And the rough is up and will punish a bit since it is getting wet from the water turned up on the course to help the seeded spots and dry weather. The leaves are changing colors and the views are terrific.

Industry had alot going on today, between a 9 AM shotgun and a very large crew shooting some scenes for the series Las Vegas, but the IH staff could not have been more helpful.

It would certainly be great if you GK dudes rolled out and played these two courses from the tips and then rated these courses more than once every two months. I log on this site to see the latest on the best public courses in SoCal, but to have these two amazing courses not reviewed since September is a complete joke.

Played 9/18 and course was overall in good condition. Some unrepaired ball marks on the greens, but otherwise it was rolling good. Fairways and tee boxes were also in good condition.

No complaints other than the course ate me alive! Very tough! No way the rating is just a 132 from the blues! Very difficult. Sand in bunkers was a little thin but that's just searchin' for an excuse! Get out and play it; they're shutting it down for 6 months in late October. Surveying crews are already on the course. Lots of surveyors stakes, but they didn't affect play.
