Played here on Tuesday 1/26/16, with a 9:00 tee time, $39 course special...cart plus breakfast, two drinks and lunch. so that was good. I was a single and was paired up with two other singles. POP was good. We finished in 4hrs 30 mins and that was playing behind two pretty slow groups.
I haven't been here in over a year even though it is one of my favorite courses.
On this day the course was in typical winter dormant condition. The middle of the fairways are a mixture of brown and green grass but the edges and rough were a mixture of hardpan, tufts of green grass and dormant brown grass. It is really disapointing to hit a nice drive to the right or left side of the fairway and find your ball lying on hardpan between two tufts of grass!
Tee boxes were in great shape.
Bunker sand was good and plentiful.
Greens were excellent! Well maintained with very few ballmarks, medium to fast speed. The surrounding mountains along with the subtle undulations make it fun trying to read putts.
Water is in play on a few holes also, which I always enjoy.
Still one of my favorite tracks.

Played Friday Aug 7, Pop was ok considering we had a 5 some. Course was very green. It was difficult to find level spots on many tee boxes. Fairways were good. I was not in any bunkers so no comment there. Greens were in real good shape. Saw many deer, including some very small ones. Over all a good day.

I was surprised how dead the course was. We played as a twosome and the nearest group bhind us was almost 3 holes back. In fact it was so dead out there that we were just taking practice shot after practice shot. The course is in fair shape. The fairways are just starting to brown in spots all due to the drought, but still in decent shape. The greens are really in good shape. They hold just about any shot in to them and they roll smooth. Not as fast as you would think they are, but the ball rolls with no bumping around. The course is not long and all the par 5's are reachable in 2.

Played Wednesday afternoon. Starter gal was very accommodating and got right out. Only $20 after 2:30. Easily finished. Met a really great guy named Kim. He was a fairly new golfer with a great swing. We had a nice experience out there. Slight breeze all afternoon. Course is in pretty nice condition, although it is getting brown in a few areas. Not surprised at that. Some thin lies but very playable. The worst thing about the course is the tee boxes. Severe divot damage and not level on several of them. Sand traps were nice. Greens were verticut a while back and rolled pretty well. The fivesome in front of us played at a good pace, but did not take a second to fix their ball marks or rake any sand. Very disrespectful in my opinion. I had some blow up holes but also had plenty of birdie opportunities. This is a good track. Need to play a few times to get the green breaks here and there. Pace of play here can be an issue at times, but it is a fun course to play. I found the GPS on the cart to be off an the yardage a little, but it is sure helpful. There are good tips on the GPS . I will return.

San Dimas is in good shape . The greens are a medium - fast speed , Sand traps good , Fairways & rough were also nice and green . Some of the tee boxes need work , not very level . We played a round in 4 1/2 hours . The parking lot is full of cars for a Wednesday . There Breakfast & Lunch special is attracting a lot of players . One other thing , don't trust their GPS .

Played here yesterday (June 14, 2015) with great weather. Conditions here right now are very good and very firm. Greens were lightning quick on a lot of putts and you're going to have a hard time getting your ball to stay on the greens on your second shots. I was in one bunker yesterday and they were nice and fluffy. My only problem with the conditions were the tee boxes. Lots of them were not leveled at all as I had to tee it up in downhill and sidehill lies. Not comfortable at all.

Pace of play was atrocious. We teed off 20 minutes late and it took 3 hours to play the front 9. I can't blame it entirely on the golf course because the group in front of us was almost two holes behind. But the cafeteria was behind on all orders and it caused a 20 minute delay on the 10th tee. Terrible service. I'm almost certain that this causes a lot of delays because of their inability to get out orders more efficiently and in a timely manner. Another thing that irked me yesterday, a marshall came out to my group while on the 11th tee box waiting for group in front to hit their second shots on the fairway. I'm not a super long hitter, but I'm long enough (270-280 yards average drive). Group on the fairway was about 250 yards out. The marshall approached me to hurry me up and my drive because they were far enough. I argued with him that I can hit them, but he insisted that I go ahead and hit it. After a lengthy argument about pace of play, I went ahead and blasted my drive past the group in front (I yelled fore, of course). I turn to him to show him that he should talk to the group in front as they were two holes behind by then. All he said was, "just keep up with the group in front". No apology, and not even an attempt to talk to the group that was way behind. One of my worst experience on a golf course. I left the course after 16 holes. Pace of play would have been over 6 hours. Horrible.

I don't want to discourage other players from coming here as it's a wonderful track. But this course is badly managed. End rant.

Played this morning at 8:52. Pace of play was 4:30 hrs....incredible! Greens running smooth and medium quick at 9.5 to 10.5.

Fairways are lush and well mowed and rough was 1.5 inches thick. We avoided the mid morning and afternoon log jam. Customer service was pleasant and cart girl was well stocked with booze.

Long par 3s and short par 5s. Carts have nice gps, but annoying POP warning. Will be back.

Love San Dimas Canyon GC!! Played here on Wednesday 4/29 great deal at $36 with cart, meal and 2 drinks! teed off on time 9:20 paired with another single and a Father and son twosome. The course was in excellent condition as usual! Tee boxes were flat and not beaten up. The fairways were lush green and the greens were excellent. probably an 8 or 9 on the stimp. I'd say 90% back from the recent aerification. This course allows you to score on some holes and on some holes you have to respect the course or you can walk off with a big number. You won't be dissapointed when you play this course!

Just discovered this course after living in Claremont over a year. Was surprised to receive a great special from 12-2 pm for a tee time, cart, 2 beers, chips, and hot dog for $25 (call and ask what specials they have). Par 3's all played short today but still challenging enough. Par 4's are alright, nothing special. The best part of this course is the par 5's... All very short but only one real easy par 5 and you have to hit 2 straight shots. A few great views and moments throughout the round. The 16th is awesome: Take 1.5-2 clubs less downhill with the wind. They aerated half the greens today, so pin positions are on the half that isn't punched and sanded. The greens are huge however, a few have 2 or 3 tiers. The break off the hills on the putts is fun, putts either break less, opposite, or more than what you thought, lol.
