Great Conditions! Played last week and the conditions were some of the finest I've played on. Whatever they did this year on the overseed worked because it looks good, and plays good, with very consistent surfaces through out. By far the best overall conditions of all the publics in the SVC and SIMI valleys.

I wanted to check out TPC Valencia, so I went and played as a single at 5pm on a late Sunday afternoon. With daylight savings I finished with no problem. The problem was the green fee was $100 at 5pm on Sunday night! I don't care what track you play, if you're charging $100 for super twilight on an early Sunday evening, it's too much. I know, I know, they're trying to keep the 'riff-raff' out. Well trust me, I'm no slouch and $100 at that time is borderline absurd. Trust me TPC Valencia is not going that good. Anyway, the track isn't that bad, but it's not that good either. I would never pay the buck sixty they want for primetime...no way! And I would never, and I mean never, buy a membership. Not with Robinson, Angeles National, or some other better, more reasonably priced tracks around. They do have a sweet clubhouse and awesome practice facility. But they have priced this "riff raff' out. Good job TPC!!

Played today. I read some negative comments here, but wanted to see for myself. This course is excellent. It was in awesome shape, the holes are interesting and the greens are top notch.

Played today. I read some negative comments here, but wanted to see for myself. This course is excellent. It was in awesome shape, the holes are interesting and the greens are top notch.

It is a very difficult course to play for the first time. Even with the yardage book, we probably gave away 3 or 4 strokes each just for not knowing where to hit. As far as the $113 green fee, I think it's worth every penny, when you factor in the practice facilities, which are second to none, the lack of crowds, the pace of play and the overall experience. It is definitely worth the $18 difference over playing Lost Canyons...

I would hate to have to walk this course.

The only negatives were that there were maintenance crews on almost every hole, although they were very courteous and let you play. It was also hot, but we never saw the drink cart on the front nine, and only saw her at the turn and on 17, so it was a thirsty round.

Overall, it was a great day and we'll gladly be back.

Played the morning of Jul 3. This was the second time for me, and I'll have to stick with my original assessment: a solid and good, but not great, golf experience. I don't have any complaints at all about the staff and customer service - top notch. Also, the range and practice facilities are terrific as well. But for the money, numerous courses have equally solid facilities and frankly, the courses at PGA Oak Valley and La Purisima, just to name two, are superior in their condition, layout and feel. I'd also choose Rustic Cyn just on the architecture alone, and based on what I've seen of Angeles National, I'd go there first as well. This course simply isn't memorable enough to rate a six figure greens fee.

The course is really nice and in great condition. I got a deal on the green fees and payed $71, that is still too much. There a lot of blind shots, which makes club selection difficult playing there for the first time. I strongly suggest buying a yardage book, or playing with someone who knows the course, otherwise you will be looking for you thought were good shots in the brush. The course could help out by putting hole maps on each tee box so you know where it is safe to hit. The course requires straight tee shots and penalizes the ones that go astray. My foursome played at 11:20 and only saw a few other golfers on the course. Overall a frustrating experience, but I will go back to try it again next time armed with a yardage book.

Nice course, but way too expensive. One can find much better deals at Robinson Ranch. I have played the course 3 times now and luckily only had to pay once (thanks dad)! The course is forgiving from the tees and makes it a place that both good and mediocre golfers can play together and enjoy. This place will never attract a tournament though due to the big rigs flying by less than 70 yards from some of the tee boxes. If they slashed the price in half I would play here often, but at the current weekend rate I would rather play two or three rounds at another course.

The course was in great shape....but way overpriced. I think you are paying for the name (TPC) and the customer service. At times, the staff was overwhelming...the starter acted like it was the first time we had ever been on a golf course..he even said "watch out for rattlesnakes" and then proceeded to show us a picture so we knew what to look for?!? Anyway, lots of blind shots, tight fairways, and difficult landing areas. I'd play it again if it were 1/2 the price (or less).

First time playing this course in my hometown. Luckily my wife gave me a gift certificate as a gift, otherwise the cost would keep me away. Teed off right around 9. Finished a little before 1 as a twosome following a foursome.

I'm not quite sure why people gripe about this course. I found the layout to be fantastic. The conditions were pretty much immaculate. No complaints at all about the conditions.

The course has a good variety of holes. While not an overly difficult course, the greens and pin placements are its main defense. Lots of subtle breaks. I think the biggest break I had all day was maybe 2-1/2 feet, however I didn't have any straight putt within 7 feet all day.

Fairways are fairly wide in most instances, the greens for the most part are fairly large, and very few sand traps to worry about. The rough could be grown out to be a little more penalizing, as its current state is a little over 1 inch, and only once did I have a ball in the rouch that sat somewhat down.

Overall it was a treat. I will be back, however not soon as the cost is a setback.

Let’s start with the course….the back and front 9’s are completely different. I really enjoyed the back nine that rolled thru the oak covered hills with some great views of the SC valley. The front seemed to be laid out to accommodate home & townhouse views ($$$) and seemed like a different course. We bought a yardage book ($8) and it was worth it, several blind tee shots and approach shots along the way make it a must for first time players. Even with the book, we took a drive up several fairways to see where we were hitting. The course is fairly playable, fairways tended to be generous, water comes into play on only 2 holes, and the greens were not overly guarded with traps. The greens are the challenge on this course. They are large, multi-tiered, and fast with some tough reads (a playing partner putted one into the water hazard on #9, TWICE). Overall conditions were very good, what you would expect for a TPC course. Only complaint is that some of the fairways were a little thin in spots. Facilities were exceptional and rival private clubs (which is what this course will be in a short time). I played TPC complimentary of someone’s great gesture. So it was a truly a great experience, one that I would like to enjoy again. However, at $113 for a weekday round, I will NOT be back (>$140 on weekends). If the $$ is not an issue for you, than go play the course now. Our 4-some had the entire course to our selves, never waited for a shot and never held anyone up. Just not worth that price to me, I’ll head up the road to Robinson’s ranch and play, with coupons, at less than half the price.
