Played on a crystal clear morning and started on-time at 7:00 a.m. The starter was friendly and helped us out by rearranging our courses for us -- starting on the River and finishing on the Pine. We'd never played here before and were pleasantly surprised. The tee boxes were in good shape, the vast majority were level and relatively divot-free. The fairways were in good shape too. I don't remember any bare spots but there were a few muddy areas where drainage looks to be an issue. The rough was just short enough to keep you from losing an errant drive. The greens were firm and pretty fast. Approaches and chips had a tendency to run more often than check, which can create challenges because some of the greens are small. We were a walking foursome and finished the front in about 2 hours, with virtually no waiting. But on the back, we caught up with the groups ahead of us -- a walking twosome immediately ahead and two fivesomes in carts ahead of them. We waited on each of the final 4 holes due to very slow play by the 2 riding fives, even though a Marshal was alongside them. It took 3 hours to finish the back (and we didn't take a break at the turn). Despite the slow play on the back, we enjoyed the round, and with weekend rate of only $33 fee to walk...I know we'll be back again.

Tee'd off at 7:15am on 1/30/11, pretty busy morning but the starter was pretty good about keeping things moving. Played pine/mountain. The fairways were in good shape and the greens were rolling ok. Pretty satisfied with the conditions overall, but I still can't get over the layout of the mountain course - its just awkward! I'd definitely play there again, but I'd go with the river/pine combo instead.

Played yesterday on 1/8 as part of a tournament. We teed off about 1/2 hour later due to a frost delay. Play was slow. Our foursome took almost six hours to play 18. We played River/Pine courses. I did like playing the Pine course. No wonder the Pine course is so popular to play of the three 9 hole tracks here. I didn't think it was worth the green fees they were asking.

Tee boxes were in decent shape. The fairways were thin and muddy in a lot of spots. There was average coverage of grass on the fairways but the grass is more like you see on most municipal courses. It's been a couple of weeks after the rain deluge we had. The 13th fairway was so muddy. Riding carts were no allowed on the 13th fairway. On most of the holes you had to deal with mud on your ball. The rough was mostly crab grass, which was so hard to hit off. The bunkers were in decent shape. The greens were in average condition. It was a little bumpy in spots. Greens were a little fast today.

We had to wait on every hole to tee off. There is no water on this course. The fairways are wide enough to use your driver to tee off. You definitely need to bring your waiting game if you want to play here. Course is flat enough if you want to walk 18. The only hills on the course are when you cross over the river channel.

Not worth it. Price is fair, but the brand new tee boxes were closed, each tee area was in front of the tee box on a downhill slope. Muddy fairways, cement in the bunkers and bumpy greens.

I'll play there again next year in March when conditions may be better.

Walked on with my brother and teed off at around 5:50 on the Pine/River and finished at 9:30.This course is in great condition the greens and fairways look like good green carpet and its prolly in the best shape I ever seen it(been playing it since march) it is well worth the 25$ walking fee and the staff was very friendly so my golf day was great today.

Whitter Narrows is far from Narrow. If you lose a ball here, you should be going back to the range.

Always decent greens for the amount of play and tons of slow play...so bring your 12 pack.

Only set back today was the credit card machine on the course. It did not work. Starter was professional and still got us out.

Play on Sunday, April 18th. Greens are in pretty good conditions...people fix..your ball marks!!!! Pace of play was not bad..we were behind a 5some as 3some...about 4.5 hours. Great local course...... Continue »

Fairways and rough was in fair condition, but great value course. Beer and food was decently priced. This course is wide open...if u don't hit the fairways...there is still a chance to make par. The wind made the course even longer than that 6600 yards from the whites. We saw a beast of chick..playing from the blues...her husband was probably 130 lbs..she was at least tipping the scales at 250 lbs. Must suck when your wife can outbench, and outdrive you. Unless you are this chick and are below a 15 handicap..play from the whites...people...nothing fun about hitting from the blues...and shanking it 175 yards.
