Played Fri Feb 27th Course is in real good shape, Tee boxes, fairways and greens were nice. I was in many bunkers LOL and all had good sand. I did not putt great 33 putts because I was reading more break in every putt. but they rolled well. POP was great, just under 4 hours. I even parred hole 18 and never used 18 fairway lol. This is the 3rd time I have played here all from the blue tees and I am getting more comfortable. I will be back.

Played 2/13/15 @ 7:15 am (dew sweeper) as a single, hooked up with another twosome. POP was just 4 hours, that's always nice. First time I ever played this course with no wind, I'm talking zero wind, lets just say the holes that usually play into the wind were way easier. Overall condition of the course was really good. Fairways full, lush and tight (except for the four newer holes), greens pure, smooth and pretty quick, above the hole really quick. Once the course dried out, the fairways had some good roll on your drives. My only complaint were the tee boxes, seemed like everyone of them needed to be mowed. Plus it was hard to find a level lie. The only two good ones had 20-30 mud hens on them, they were nice and tight. Hey, 88 degrees on a So Cal winter day, I'll take that any day of the week.

Played the Classic course this morning and was surprised by the overall good condition of the course. The greems here are almost always very good but the fairways. rough, tees and especially the sand traps were all in very good condition. The sand in the traps was fluffy and dry and some of the best I've seen at many courses. The pace of play was also very nice at 4 1/2 hours with not waiting on any shots. Overall a great expereince today.

Chilly and breezy this Sat. morning on the Classic, $52 to walk in 4.5 hrs. Greens were firm and rolling true, very few, if any, ball marks. Fairways in good winter condition, dry from the sun and wind so there was ample roll out. Bunkers a bit thin with light sand. Rough not too deep. Trees are the main source of protection here on this flat OC plateau, and a few H2O hazzards. Course fun, no frills, I play here regularly because a couple buds are locals. If not for that, it'd be a once or twice a year course.

Played Friday Dec 19th, 7 am tee time, it was cold. The course was in really good shape and the greens were really good, rolled true and they were very smooth. Bunkers need a little more sand. POP was 4 hours 5 minutes. There was a 3 some in front of us and a 4some in back and never waited or was pushed. Really a nice day.

The Classic was in pretty decent post-storm shape this Sat. morning, 8am. Greens cut, in good shape, and fairways had mostly good lies albeit some wet/muddy patches. Dried out a bit on the backside. Got around in 4:30 walking rate of $52, pricey, I know. Some puddles still exist and most are marked off to keep the electric carts away. Some bunkers are a bit muddy and some had standing water, but a few were well conditioned and not difficult to play from. Overall, a nice comeback after all that rain yesterday but after the next storm it may reach it's saturation point. Oh yeah, the H2O hazard left of the 4th hole is now actually a water hazard, with standing water, ducks and everything ... and coots: you know how much I hate them suckers.

Sorry to read the previous post, ouch, but I can't say we had any issues other than Mile Sq. being a bit pricey for what it is ($52 weekend walking rate). Hey, it's Orange County ... everybody is rich, right?

Course conditions were actually very good from tee to green, with a few bare areas that come into play. Greens rolling medium speed, oh so true, and hardly a ball mark to be found. Bunkers were raked and in playable condition, some a bit firmer than others. Overall, the challenging back nine make this a fun round of golf. Recommended.

Played in a Saturday 10am tournament, on a hot and humid day. I've only played the Classic course once before, probably six or seven years ago, but I remember enjoying it more than the Players course when I did. The course's website highlights the greens as the best in Orange County, and they should be rightfully proud of them. They roll beautifully, and are very receptive to wedge shots in. Even my five- and six-irons were just taking one short hop forward and stopping. The greens are fairly large, but there's not much in terms of shelves on the greens. Just lovely gentle slopes where the ball moves wonderfully.

I was not as much in love with the tee boxes. They seemed to be the thick-bladed kikuya grass, just mowed down. I had a hard time finding comfortable footing, and the thick blades of grass made me tee my ball higher than I normally would, especially with irons into the par-3s. The fairways had a few brown patches near the rough, understandable in the heat of the dog days of summer. I managed to avoid the bunkers in my round, but many had some intimidatingly tilted up faces. Watching my playing partners, the bunkers appeared to have a good amount of sand. The trees are mature, but aren't really thick trees that will stop everything. They do have a good amount of height, which you can see contrasting the shorter, younger trees on the adjacent Players course.

We saw the beverage cart a couple of times on the course, and a pit stop was necessary at the snack shop on such a hot day. I was amazed at the number of people who were jogging around the course during the hottest part of the day. There was even saw a couple jogging together pushing a stroller. I for one was glad we had a cart, although our cart did die a couple of times on the front nine, and would restart only after waiting a couple of minutes (battery too hot?). We went and changed it out at the turn. On a cooler day, the course looks flat enough to be very walk-able. As it was, we got around in 4 hours 50 minutes, with some manageable waiting, especially on the par-3s. Folks in the pro shop and the snack shop / bar were friendly, and I enjoyed my time there. Definitely would go back.

POP was 4 hours walking, nice, but it was hot and it wore me out. Did not bring enough energy bars for the back nine.
