This had been one of my favorite courses and I couldn't believe it now had a 5.03 rating. I played it this week and I still cannot believe the rating - only now I think it is rated too high. In one word the course is AWFUL. Fairways are a mixture of many types of grass with bald spots mixed in. The 'grass' is cut so short that you get 60 yards of roll on the tee shot. Greens are passable but very bumpy. Almost every group was a fivesome and I finally picked up afte a 3 hour front nine. I guess that after spending the big money for a new clubhouse, there's nothing left to keep the course maintained. Didn't see one person working on the course during my Monday morning round.

Played the Destroyer on a Friday afternoon and the pacec was very slow. The greens were in very good condition. The fairways were getting over the winter blues and filing in very nicely. The rough and sand traps need a little work. Overall a good game of golf.

The greens are in very good shape & rolling nicely. There are some scruffy/patchy areas in the fairways throughout the course.
Pace of play was very good.

Played on 4/14, three of us walked on and waited almost 2 hours. Which makes sense i guess since there were three of us. The course is in great shape. The fairways were a little thin, but the tee boxes were just fine, with a few exceptions. The greens are always nice. Some are harder than others, but overall there were rolling smooth and relatively fast. Always fun to play here. The yardage, water hazards, and the greens make this course a nice challenge. I will come back after i get bored with all the other courses around here.

Played Saturday late morning. The course was understandably crowded, but the pace of play was reasonable. The greens have just about healed from the recent aeration. They rolled pretty well, although they were not as fast as they can be. The overall condition of the course was good. My only gripe is that they punched holes in the fairways and rough so those little round clumps of dirt are all over the place getting stuck in everyone's soft-spikes.

p.s...It was very windy, so my buddy and I turned our baseball caps around backwards (like catchers). Moments later a marshal appeared out of nowhere to tell us that there is a course policy against backward hats. It's so good to know they're looking out for all the decent folks.

Played w/stickboy today. Had a great time (would have been a little better had I won). The fairways were a little rough and tee boxes were ok. The greens were in good condition but they are going to be aeriating them on 3/19. Overall, a nice layout with both left to right and right to left holes and with all the undulating greens you almost have to leave everything below the hole. Would like to play again

Greens rolled quite nicely. A fair amount of bare patches in the rough & fairways. But, it's a public course that gets a lot of play & it's winter - that's how it's going to be.
