Interesting that they start everyone "shotgun" at 7:30, but it moved quickly (surprisingly for a weekend). Not a bad track and not horrible conditions. I enjoyed the track.

Played this course on 5/6. I was amazed at how bad of shape it was in. It started with a 8am shotgun start. 1st tee was on the other side of the golf course(11th) and was not offered a shuttle ride from the staff, so I walked. Then they were starting with two groups on each tee. Very slow play. The group ahead of us was two holes behind for 10 holes until the marshall talked to them for the third time. Arrived at the at the 9th hole and there were three groups on the tee box and one on the green, that is atrocious and should never happen. The greens were in terrible shape. Extremely bumpy and slow, but they were not consistent at all. Played three holes and each green was different. The fairways, I didn't know where the fairway ended and the rough began. The pace of play, terrible greens and bad fairways amazed me because this golf course was not like this a year ago. I doubt I will be returning anytime soon, not until I know they have addressed these issues.

Areating Greens. Wish I had consulted GK before I played. $29 to ride right before twilight was a bargain but then we hit the greens. They punched and sanded greens but winds have pushed out the sand and you have spots that have just holes or loads of sand. Should be a while before greens return to normal. Course design is actually quite challenging with several back to back holes that require good course management. Somtimes narrow landing spots are best to lay up for larger landing areas and a club or more to add to hit the greens. In other words I like the layout. Fairways a little brownish but still well maintained. Just a few tee boxes were unlevel but dealable. Rough was thick. I have been told the greens here are typically fast with a lot of roll. Shots held b/c of areation. Will return and have added this little gem to my rotation. Should be fun to play when greens have returned. BTW Little secret of the LBC area. Was the Navy course but now open to public with new club house. Old one is off to the side. I was impressed only wish I found out about the areation beforehand. That I blame myself.

Greens have small fertilizer pieces resulting in very slow & bumpy putts. I'm sure in 2 days it will all be gone though. Rumor has it, the greens will be punched next week.

Teed off on Saturday, February 23 at 8:15AM. With the recent rains the course had numerous wet spots and where the fairways were overseeded it was soggy. Overall, the fairways were blotchy and the rough very spotty. The greens for the most part did roll true, but played hard for the amount of rain received. This is a pretty long and open course so bring your big stick and grip and rip it. Water is present on most holes, but with the exception of a couple don't come into play. Although the course seemed crowded we only had to wait on the 3 par 9th hole. Got through the round in a little over four hours. Overall, with the on-line discount this course played to the price.

Fairways have been overseeded. Conditions vary fairway to fairway. Greens rolling nicely with an occasional bump or two. Some bunkers getting new sand & quite a few trees have been cut down.

Nice track and from the tips with wind and tough pin positions, makes this " all you can handle"

The course is in acceptable condition from tee to green, but the greens are getting really good. They didn't cut them too close, but even at moderate speed these greens offer a great challenge. Forty bucks to walk on a weekday (for civilians) is a little higher than other comparable nearby courses, but the greens are a treat.
