Customer service here is always great. I'm in Men's club here and play it all the time. Monday the pins were wicked! Every pin was no more than 2-3 paces off the edge of each green. Loved the challenge. Greenskeeper of the course...if you're reading these pages take note that many who play the course are unhappy with state of the fairways. They're either muddy or hardpan with NUMEROUS dirt bare spots. Most of the landing areas on #3, #4, especially #8, #10 are atrocious, and all the patchwork sod "laid down" on #17 is uneven and even sticks up higher than the "turf" around it. For as great as the greens are, the fairways are the complete opposite and just horrible. I imagine the choice was $ for clubhouse and range or $ for overseeding. Management chose the prior. We'd really like to hear and maybe you could speak to it through this forum (or on the course's Facebook page) why the fairways are so shoddy. And I can't imagine it's a time of year thing as most of the spots I'm referencing have absolutely NO GRASS at all on them. You guys are competing with Tijeras/Arroyo Trabuco. Right now the conditions at Tijeras are perfect; they overseeded. I much prefer San Juan, but conditions don't support the choice sometimes. Don't focus so much on amenities in that competition with TC and Arroyo; focus on the course! We really care about conditions and our course. Not looking for perfection, but at least some turf in the landing areas would be nice. Thanks!

Played the course on 12/23. The greens are perfect. With winter here the fairways are in good shape and have seen an improvement in the sandtraps since I last played. Overall my experience was excellent from the get-go. The staff in the Pro Shop were very professional yet friendly and the personnel in the restaurant were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They advertise "The Best Value In The OC". In my opinion, I agree 100% with them. Looking forward to another great experience at their course.

Played Sunday morning. As usual, a great track for an OC muni course! Always fun to play as you must think before your shots. Were slowed up by the group in front of us, and pushed by the group behind us, but it was a beautiful day. Course overall was in very good shape. Sand traps need a little help though. Greens were in excellent shape and as the frost and dew left the greens, they became very fast, making those subtle breaks even more challanging. I would reccommend this course to anyone, and with all different player levels. Fun for all.

Played 12/16/09 with the 2 for 1 red dot coupon ($35 pp). Overall this is a nice course. There was a lot of ground under repair on the 17th fairway. It almost seemed like a maze! It is a little querky that you end with a par 3 here. Greens on the front 9 were in great shape, but the back 9 started to get really bumpy. Nice hilly course, but not too hilly like Westridge in La Habra. Course is on the birdie savings card from Roger Dunn, will definitely be back...

This IS the best course for the value tucked away in the hills of San Juan Capistrano always green and clean. Hills create interesting play and the first hole has a nice lake to clear. the 2nd hole has a elevated green and a big sand lot in the front for a nice challange par 4
Always plays at a good pace and all carts are GPS. equipped. This is a must course to play and big greens and can be a test on the back nine when the wind comes up but as I said this is one of the well keep courses for the money it is the best

Reseeding most of the tee boxes and tee markers poorly laid out on many holes. Some of the fairways had too many bare spots and none were marked as "under repair". You should not have to hit from the dirt on the fairway. I usually like this course and find it in great condition. That said, still had a great time and found the pace of play excellent. Only saw the cart girl once and the clubhouse is still under remodel. I paid full fare on a Sunday. They should have a lower price for these conditions. Bunkers were wet and thick.

This is one of the best values in town! Love this Course! Although I do have to say that the customer service I recieved was terrible! I have voiced my complaints to management regarding one individual that works the counter a few times and it doesn't seem they listen. Ray, John and Bill are Great ! , but if you get the guy with the beard you might as well plan on going somewhere else! He is not accomidating what so ever! He acted like I was bothering him! Make sure you print the email coupon because he will not accomidate you if you don't have it! I still love this course and will continue to play there, but I wish the great changes they are making continues onto their staff selections.

Played last Saturday and Sunday in the Men's Club Oktoberfest tourney. First off, staff does a great job of making sure everything runs without a glitch. John and Ray are always friendly and professional. The new pro shop is open. Very nice. Hopefully they'll overseed this year but imagine all that money went to the pro shop!...

Course conditions...fairways are spotty at best. Many dead areas. And, some silly areas where new squares of sod have been laid, but they're 3 inches think so they're basically raised pads of grass that aren't consistent with the rest of the fairway. You can hit a nice drive and be penalized with dead hardpan in middle of some fairways.

As bad as the fairways are, the greens are just the opposite. Sunday they were running extremely fast! The greens are always the best part of this course.

Bunkers, well, they've never been consistent here and imagine they never will be. I've been playing here for almost 10 years and they've always been hit or miss. Either hard dark "dirt" or overly soft beach sand. Avoid them at all costs.

Tee boxes were recently shaved super low and punched. I'd assume that means they're overseeding them, but there was no sign of overseeding them yet. Careful, you can slip on some of them as some are just dirt/sand.

All said, it's a friendly, for the majority, well maintained course.
