I played here today, and the course is in pretty good shape. The tee boxes had just been reseeded or thatched and aerated, so the tee boxes were set to either up front or way back. The fairways had some dry spots and the rough was down to dirt in places, but that's typical this time of year. The greens seemed to be in very good condition. Pace of play picked up after the first few holes, and we didn't have to wait much after that. All in all, a good value.

Great overall conditions and reasonable price. We got through 18 in 4 1/2 hours. Very good for a Sunday.

I play here a lot, but first time since June. They've made lots of improvements. Resodded blue tee box on #6. Lowered the bunker on #10. Whole new practice putting complex and huge outdoor patio. It's a great place with a nice locals vibe. Greens are in very good shape for this time of year. Fairways had some bare spots but that's to be expected. Great course to walk, but not for the weary. Lots of hills. Very enjoyable. Ray in the pro shop got me right out as a single walk on. I'd played with the superintendent here about a year ago; our paths crossed yesterday and he took the time to chat with me about the course and even remembered my name and game. Keep up the good work.

It's difficult to get a tee time in OC let alone get one for a fivesome, but this course allows them off the record. Just be nice to the pro shop and starter and be sure to keep up with the pace of play or else the Marshall will be breathing down your necks the whole round!

Plenty of hilly terrain, trees, lots of water, strategically placed bunkers, many holes that play uphill, and small elevated greens with some mean bunkers guarding them. The majority of bunkers carry lumpy, hard dirt but there are a few holes that have crushed marble in them, although I never got to play out of them.

The greens are soft and in very good condition, and your balls bite and spin quite a bit with your approach shots. Some greens are faster than others so watch out for the mountain break. Overall a decent golf experience for $73 in the OC and you can't beat the cooler weather.

Played here on a Tue morning, overcast skies, 68*, no wind, perfect. Course is in great condition. Minor construction near clubhouse and practice putting green. Other than that, greens and fairways are plush. Course is short, so keep your driver in the bag. Nice staff and starter let me out by myself ahead of 2-some and 4-some already on the 1st tee. I zipped around in less than 3 hrs. Best bang for the buck in the OC, $55. Will definitely be back.

Our standard rate for all players is $73 on Saturday and Sunday with the following two exceptions: San Juan Hills Men’s Club play for $68 and OC Trail Card Members play for $52 (there were two trail card players on Sunday. You can buy a Trail Card on www.greenskeeper.org). Your tournament was charged $73 and that included a bucket of balls and scoring.

We are very sorry you felt the conditions were poor. Poa Annua greens are inevitable on all coastal golf courses….Pebble Beach, The Olympic Club and even Cypress Point are 100% Poa Annua greens. As you can read in the 2 ½ years of customer feedback on this website the vast majority of golfers feel the course in good or excellent condition. We are sorry that we fell short of your expectations.

This course is such a rip-off...we had a tournament here on July 13th 2008. The course charges $50 on the weekend and they charged us $73 dollars for a course that should actually be rated at 4.50 instead of the 7+ rating that is reflected! Way too overated and NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!

The tee boxes were all unleveled and shaggy with rough growing out of the tee box approximately one inch in length. The fairways were also shaggy and at times it appeared I was in the rough instead of the fairway. If you do find the rough, the grass will grab your club and make you pull, so HIT THE BALL FIRST!

The greens were bermuda greens with Poa Annua growing all over the place...very bumpy and inconsistent. I would never return back to the this course, even if I had a complimentary green fee....horrible conditioned course for the price.
