Still lots of seasonal work going on so $10 discount through golf extra which made it an okay day. Men's tournament in morning made it very slow. Finally sped up on back nine. Greens had recovered nicely from aeration; fairways were still mucky. It'll be in great shape in 2-3 weeks.

Ebbyluke, I used to play San Juan Hills often and have just recently decided to do so again. I played last month, the course was in great shape and I had a great time. I can see you are pissed off about the marshal disrupting you, but to go as far as telling me and all the members never to play to course again is way over the top. I value this website to help me choose where I play. Your comment does nothing for me. I’m considering playing the course in the next couple weeks. I obviously don’t want to play it if it is in the so called terrible shape you say. But how about telling me exactly WHAT is in terrible condition? In all respect, because I would be really pissed off if what happened to you happened to me, remember the rest of us before venting.

thay were seeding the fairways so we wern"t allowed to drive the carts on them wich of course made us play a little slower.On the 6th hole the rude marshell started on to give us a time limit to finish up the frount nine because thay booked a tourn. to close together with the tourn. that I was in. So when you get rushed by a rude marshel it messes with your game. Then when we got to the 9th hole that same rude marshell brought 20 golf carts about 20 feet away from the tee box when we were in the process of hitting , so we hade to wate for them to drive by so we could let the last two people in our 4 some to hit!!!! VERY RUDE. So I'll never play this golf course again and I can't recommend any one playing this golf course.Not only because of the rude marshelll but the golf course was in terrable shape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I normally love playing The Hills, but our experience on 10/15 should be a warning to all of you out there as to what is to come under new management. The pro shop was kind enough to advise us of the extensive aeriation and other work being done on the course, and as Golf Extra members, they gave us a discount for the inconvenience. That was great. We knew what we were in for when it came to conditions. My gripe isn't with the pro shop, but rather the marshalls on the course. There was hardly anyone on the course. We were a foursome which included one woman. The group in front was a threesome. We were, at times, 3/4ths of a hole behind, yet the marshalls ORDERED us to hurry up numerous times. On one hole, we had to wait for a tractor with a large trailer on it to clear the fairway so we could hit our drives. The marshall gave us a hard time for waiting. When I said, "you want me to hit the guy on the tractor in the head with my drive?" the marshall said, "that's his problem." The real rub of all of this is that we completed our round in 3 hours, 45 minutes. And, everyone in our group shot in the low 80's so we weren't hacking or playing slow. I'm all for keeping up the pace of play, but I'm not thrilled about marshalls constantly ordering you to hurry up when you're not slow. Pro shop listened to our complaints; I'll be curious to see if anything will be different next time I play. If not, there's too many other options out there. New owners shouldn't think just cuz they bought the course and are spending money to fix it up, that they can treat their customers like kids.

This is a fun track. Lots of challenges for a fairly short course. Lots of places to drop strokes. The par 3s are pretty challenging from the the back tees. The only downside was the pace of play - 5 hours. Then again, 5 hours on the weekend in Orange County is pretty much the norm.

Probably the best bang for your buck in Orange County. I'm disappointed at all of the watering on the course. The greenskeepers should learn to stay out of the way. On #3 last yesterday some worker was actually squatting down on the ladies tee working on something. A skulled driver and I would be prying my ball out of his head. I dont know if he's just rude or stupid. Another time I had to move a coiled hose between me and the green. Hey! Why do you need to water sand traps?!?! I know the course was bought out and they are making improvements, but there's no reason to leave equipment laying around. Very disconcerting. I've been playing here weekly for a couple years and the staff is the best, bar none. From Andrew in the pro shop to Tom in the clubhouse. You guys are awesome and deserve recognition. Rub this persona off on the greensfolks will ya. Best advice: Stay below the cup. these greens, will hold any shot and will severely test your downhill putting ability. GPS has been added to the carts. I don't need it though. I've logged hundreds of rounds here.

This is pretty much my home course. I don’t play it as often as I used to but that has nothing to do with the facility. Yesterday, I visited my old friend and had a blast. Playing Conditions, Service, everything was splendid. If you’ve never played San Juan Hills I highly recommend it. 15 is a real golf hole that sort of sneaks up on you. Just a fun layout where you can shoot some low scores and enjoy the day.

San Jaun Hills feels like 3 different courses bunched into 1. The majority of the course ( Front 9, holes 12, 16,17 and 18) feels like a very nice public course. Holes 13,14 and 15 are like playing a great High End public, but holes 10 and 11 feel like they sent you out to the cow pasture for some range practice. The customer service was great, but $58 is just too much for this course.
