tee time fri 2/20 1258, teed off 10 mins later. was expecting to only finish 16 holes at best bc the pace of play here is usually slow... low and behold we finished at 530. greens could be a bit faster id say, but good enough. overall course is in good condition, bev cart and marshall passed by 3x.

Played 2/9/09. Course was pretty empty due to light drizzle. Pace was about 3 hours total, due to people calling it quits when some hail started. Course is in great shape & layout is fun, especially finishing hole. Some greens had puddles in it from the rain, not great greens drainage. They have 5somes around, which can slow things down. Blue tees are at white markers currently.

My friend and I played today and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I went expecting the worst after reading the recent reviews. We tee'd off 10 minutes late or so, so I thought we were in for a 6 hour round. The pace of play actually picked up after about 5 holes. Our round lasted about 4hrs and 45 mins. Not a great pace, but not horrible and certainly nothing to cry about. The course was also in pretty good condition. I play the LA City courses regularly and the course conditions at Westridge are slightly better. The fairways and the sandtraps were above average. I thought the tee boxes and the greens were in even better shape. I didn't find too many unfixed ball marks on the greens. I like the course layout. I thought it was challenging and interesting. I will certainly be back to play during the middle of the week.

ok, I need to trust these reviews more. I played last Sat., tee time 1 58p.m. Arrived at the first hole and was the 5th group waiting. Finally tee'd off after 30 min. walked off in the dark barely finishing NINE. Way too crowded. I don't know what the Chung family is thinking or if it's their new mgt. group being the goofs here.

Overall course is in decent shape, not good, decent. Greens bumpy, but they have lots of potential. Fairways seem to be in some recovery mode.

Go check out discount tee time websites ie click4teetimes, golfnow, etc. They have listed tee times every 7 minutes. I'd call that overbooking.

Played on a Tuesday morning at a comfortable pace. No evidence of overbooking. Course was in excellent shape considering the winter maintainance that was occurring. Some parts of the fairways had topping/manure spread out, but we just played these areas as GUR. An excellent value with use of the Birdie Card. Complementary Course Guide was included.

This golf course was one of my favorites, no more. For about the last month according to my personnel experience and what other golfers have been telling me, it has become a disaster to get on at your reserved tee time and then the time required to play 18 holes. We played on Dec. 31 and teed off 45 minutes behind schedule, as all us golfers who were queued up at the first hole were a very unhappy group---we began to compare our reserved tee times and discovered the golf course was making reservation at a 4 minute interval. This amounts to double booking. Several golfers said they would never play the course again. Then it got worse after finally teeing off, it took almost 3 hours to play the front 9 and two of the golfers in our group quit and went home in disgust, and it required 5 hours and 45 minutes to play the full 18---we never saw a Marshal at anytime to speed up play. The staff you could see was trying hard and were very nice, but their hands were tied with the management policies as management has chosen greed over good customer service. This I always considered an upscale course, but no more as it is being managed worse than a public municipal track.
I still like the layout, the challenges, the greens and the staff. Maybe I will return in June or July.

it turned out again and again quite obvious that this course on regular bases double books tee times. it took 2 friggin hours to just play first 4 holes!!! Marshal told me they had two tournaments, one in the morning and another at 12. My tee time was 12 35 and there were at least 2 groups before mine that weren't part of tournament. They even ran out of carts for god sake. I had to play 14 and 15th hole in the dark before i finally gave in.

Played Westridge on Saturday afternoon. Though we were two days removed from the Christmas rains, the course was still "cart path only," and for good reason. There were some areas that were still soaked and sloppy, and several of the fairway bunkers had small ponds in them. In fact, when crouching on the greens, I could see "moisture footprints" where me and the others in my group had walked, so clearly the course is still saturated. That came into play on a few shots, which was a little frustrating. It's obvious that due to the way the course easily saturates and softens, they haven't been able to do a lot of cutting in the past week, so the fairways were a little more grown-out than you'd like to see. At least the greens were rolling true, albeit a little slower than usual.

Overall, though, I still like the course and its challenging holes. The biggest problem yesterday was pace of play -- absolutely atrocious! I've played the course on holiday weekends before, and it's been fine, but yesterday was a different story. There was a marshal, but clearly he wasn't doing his job. We sat and watched the group ahead of us tee off at every single hole, but the backup was in front of them. (While waiting on the first tee, I saw a couple groups with some golfers whose tee shots were, frankly, better suited to miniature golf.) It took 3 hours just to get through 9 holes... by the time the sun went down, we'd only made it through 13, and were able to squeeze in two more with the remaining twilight.
