This is a great golf course. The only real issue is not having a driving range. They are still working out of a temporary facility, but the service is excellent. They only have some practice nets and a small practice green outside the pro shop. The course itself is beautiful. Greens are still hard, but that is typical for new courses out here in the desert. It usually takes about ten years for the greens to mature. Anything over an 8 iron into the green is going to roll.

according to greenskeeper.org, the playing conditions here are 'immaculate.' i couldn't have said it better myself. played here on a weekday morning for $29, and this course is just spotless. felt like i was the first person playing the course. tee boxes, fairways, greens, perfect condition. could rarely find a divot! greens were fast and hard from the heat, the big cooler of ice on the cart was a HUGE plus. though the layout was nothing to especially write home about, i would definitely play here again. service was excellent, golf shop was friendly and glad to get us out and give us advice. well done!

06/26/07.What a great course.. First off we only paid summer web special rate of $ 35 bucks, our tee time was 8:40 am. We got a Escena hat for $ 10 bucks (normally $22) and a zipper tag for free. Course was in fine shape, various lil thin at spots but really not even worth mentioning.. I loved this course and will be playing it again real soon with a few more buddys..

The brand new club house they are building kinda looks like and auto-dealership. lol. Fine staff and the cart girl was a lil hottie.. They have ice chest on each cart and water stations about every 3 holes..

I have played several low desert courses and this is 1 of my favorite now.. Sam

FANTASTIC course,Troon Golf at it's BEST,tee'd off a 3 and finished in 2.3 hours.if you have not played here this is a MUST play in the desert. One of better Nichlaus courses you will play.

The greens were a bit hard, but rolled true. The fairways were in good shape as were the tee boxes. Well worth the money. the course will be much better once they get their clubhouse finished. without a driving range, you better come ready to play.

Like mapa94, I too played on 6/4 and also paid the $33.75 Escena web site price. I was matched with a twosome who had played the Classic Club who were much more impressed with Escena. The course was in better shape when I played in early April, the only change being the greens were not cut as new grass was coming up to better withstand the heat. So putting was rough but who cares when the rest of the course was a 10. When I finished at 3:00PM, there were only ten cars in the parking lot so this course does not get alot of play but it is definitely worth the drive from the OC to play here.
