Rode the Blues (6386/70.7/124) in 2H, 45M mid day using Forelinx. The weather was in the mid 90's and clear with a little breeze. The Bermuda tees were well maintained, lush with few divots. I had no issue finding a level stance with good grass on all tees. The Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from. The Bermuda rough was mostly lush, mowed down and not penal to play from. The sand traps were above average. Well maintained and firm with medium texture brown sand. The Bermuda greens putted medium speed. Firm, so even well struck irons would release. Stopping it relatively close to your ball mark was unlikely. Solid course in above average shape for right before over seeding. Solid layout, fairly wide open with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Minimal on course staff during this time of year. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green. you cross residential streets at least 6 times during your 18 holes here. The carts are equipped with GPS. Recommended if you desire a solid, reasonably priced course in the Palm Springs area that is not too demanding, nor too easy.

Rode the Golds (6794/72.8/128) in 2.5H using Forelinx twilight. The weather was around 110 and clear with a little breeze.

Nice layout with 18 solid holes of golf. Fairly wide open course with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. Huge difference in the par 3's when I move back to the Golds. 233, 205, 126 & 193 compared to 192, 175, 110 & 162 from the Blues. That is an average of 25 yards per par 3, you start adding 2-3 clubs on every one and the whole course perspective changes.

The Bermuda tees were level, well maintained with few divots and mostly lush.

The Bermuda fairways were nice to play from, lush.

The Bermuda rough was mostly lush, mowed down and not overly penal. Good to chip out of.

The sand traps were good. Well maintained, mostly firm with medium texture brown sand.

The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and firm, so even well struck irons would release. Few ball marks because of the firmness.

The customer service was limited, but excellent from everyone encountered. The carts are equipped with GPS. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between three different residential complexes. Could use more water stations on the course. Recommended as a good middle of the road alternative for the Palm Springs area.

Stopping it relatively close to your ball mark was unlikely. Solid course in good shape. Nice layout, but not a destination course. Fairly wide open layout with a good mixture of holes. Played the Blues (6386/70.7/124) in less than 3H on a GN "Hot Deal" for $24.49. The weather was sunny, around 85 and VERY WINDY. Matched up with Dave, on vacation from Minnesota. The over seeded tees were lush and well maintained. All but the par 3's were in very good shape. The over seeded fairways were lush and played well. They are maintained long, which makes the course play longer because of the lack of roll. The Bermuda rough was semi lush. Just long enough to grab your club where it is mixed with other grasses and just short enough to sometimes be hardpan where it is nothing but dormant Bermuda. The rough around the greens is very lush. The sand traps were decently maintained with medium texture brown sand. Several were good, however I also had 1 very thin green side bunker shot. The greens were smooth, firm & putted medium fast. Recent small tyne punch dies not affect putting. No severe slopes or tiers, I usually see the lines well on these greens. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making the rounds. The carts are equipped with nice GPS. This would be a challenging course to walk. Numerous tees are a long way from the last green because the course is split up between multiple residential complexes. Fairly wide open layout with a good mixture of holes. Good course, fun to play. Recommended.

The weather was mid 80's, partly cloudy and windy. The over seeded tees were lush. Well maintained, few divots and I had no issue finding a level stance with good grass on all tees. The over seeded fairways were lush and played well. The emerald green primary rough around the greens & closest to the fairways is over seeded and very lush. The dormant Bermuda secondary rough farther from the fairways was generally good, it played better than it looked. The sand traps were above average. Well maintained and firm with medium texture brown sand. The greens putted nice, smooth and medium fast speed. They are firm, so even well struck irons would release. Stopping it relatively close to your ball mark was unlikely, especially in the wind. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. The starter, Marshall, cart attendants and the drink cart were all visible, helpful & friendly. This would be a challenging course to walk because numerous tees are a hike from the last green because the course is split up between three different residential complexes. The carts are equipped with GPS. Solid course in good shape. Nice layout, but not a destination course. Fairly wide open layout with a good mixture of holes. Few forced carries other than several holes with lakes. The main difference in the Gold/Blues is made up on a few holes. Adding 2-3 clubs on three different par 3's gives the Gold tees a very different feel to the Blues. Recommended if you desire a more modestly priced course in the Palm Springs area that is not too demanding, nor too easy.

The firmness needs to be taken into account on pitches/chips and longer irons. No severe slopes or tiers, I see the lines well on these greens. The sand traps were decent. Sixpez and I played our GK Cup 10 first round match this morning at 7:15. I got $10 off as a la Quinta resident (paid $30) while they reconfigure the back 9 at Silverrock, Pace of play was outstanding at 3:45, and we never really waited (not even Keith!!) to hit any shot. We played the blue tees (6396 yards 126 slope)

This course is set in a housing community (similar to Woodhaven, and Monterrey Country Club), and the design is set up so that all kinds of golfers can play. Wide fairways (I still seemed to miss more than my share), water comes into play on quite a few holes, but only one short par 3 that you have to carry over it.

Customer service was for the most part superb. They bring a cart to your car to pick up your clubs, they accompany you and help you put your clubs and other golf gear back in your car. The pro shop attendant was friendly as was the starter. The parts I am going to pick on were we did not see the cart girl until we played the first 9, and then as you go past the starter for the first tee she was parked waiting for the groups to finish 9 to serve. We also saw her on 16. My guess is with the wacky routing (it seemed we were crossing a street after almost every hole), that she wouldn't be able to service the whole course by driving thru the front 9. There were water jugs placed on several holes, but they do not provide any cups for you to use. Memo to self next time, bring my own water bottle.

For a course that is not considered a top tier course for the area, the conditions were excellent especially for this time of year, and when the courses in the area are transitioning to summer grasses. The tee boxes were level, plenty of grass, and few unrepaired divots. The fairways had great coverage, never had a bad lie. The rough was cut down to just above fairway length, but you could tell it was rough, as it took just enough spin off your approach that it was difficult to hold greens, especially if you were out of position on the hole. The one green side bunker I was in was thin, and had a weird sand mixture, it felt like i was hitting out of a mixture of coastal and desert sand, it made a crunching sound when I walked in it.

The greens were the best I have played on in the last couple of weeks (and that includes the Stadium course. They were firm, (hardly a ballm ark to be found or to be repaired) and shots coming in from the rough or not struck well rolled quite a bit. I also liked the green complexes. Most putts outside of 3 feet had a wrinkle to them, that grabs your attention. Above the hole, the putts were quick. The roll was true. in our group I don't think there was one complaint that a putt was missed because of the green. They do advertise how great there greens are, and even in transition, i must say the greens were as good if not better than most courses I play in prime season.

As keith said, this is a solid layout with a handful of really good holes and a number of forgettable ones. Actually I liked the holes, but the routing can make you dizzy. I also do not like crossing Westward Ho street while cars are making turns off of Jefferson, that is a disaster waiting to happen. I never played this course before, but for the price and the conditions it is definitely a sold option.

They claim they have the best pro shop in the valley, which is quite a stretch to say the least. It is nice, but definitely pales in comparison to PGA west and Indian Wells golf shops for sure.

We got a free drink card as part of the green fee (free if you buy some food), at what could of been mistaken for a Hard Rock Cafe, with signed guitars, statues of Elvis etc. . A duet was playing (I remember the guy who played at LaRue wine bar in Old Town La Quinta. They had talent, but they were too loud then and too loud now, especially for 11AM on a Sunday. The patrons (who smartly took tables at the opposite end of the stage, all enjoyed and applauded in appreciation, but does not make a conducive atmosphere to talk after your round.

For the price, and the conditions I would definitely recommend this course and will be back

mendel and I played our GK Cup 10 first round match this morning at 7:15. Marlin had a deal there, so I think he paid $30 and I paid $40, which was decent for a prime Sunday morning time. Rounds also included a drink coupon for the bar. We played with a nice couple who just recently moved into this community (both left-handers, which is rare and also adorable) and the pace was great at about 3:45. Seemed like mostly regulars out on the course and everyone was playing quickly to beat the heat.

The course was in very nice overall condition. Overall, I would say things were nicer here than either Ironwood or Rancho La Quinta in recent days (other than the rough and maybe the bunkers), so kudos to the maintenance staff at Indian Springs. The tee boxes were great. The fairways were lush and green, providing decent roll-out and nice lies to hit from. The rough was a hodge podge of grasses. However, it was shaved down to next-to-nothing and was never remotely penal. Around the greens, the rough was really nice and lush. I wasn't in any bunkers, but Marlin didn't seem all that impressed by the couple he was in.

Last but not least, the greens were really nice for this time of year. The practice greens were gorgeous with still a nice coat of rye and rolling at medium speeds. On the course, there's a bit more bermuda coming through. Some greens have transitioned more than others and some played firmer. However, the surfaces were very nicely kept. Very few ball marks and putts rolled smooth and true. On their website and even on their scorecard ("Our greens are PERFECT" is permanently printed on the cards), they certainly boast about their greens. That's pretty bold and sets the bar high, but I was pretty darn impressed especially for June in the desert when they are so difficult to maintain during transition.

This is a solid layout with a handful of really good holes and a number of forgettable ones. The most memorable thing might be the crazy routing that has you hopping all over the community, crossing streets multiple times and going through the houses. I know this course and property has been changed up a lot over the years. The range and short game areas are in a very weird spot that is perhaps dangerous with the 9th hole right there. Best part of the course is easily the finishing stretch (13-18), where the holes are all located together and the layout feels most interesting and congruent. With good conditioning and pace of play, it's a fine option at the right price. After our round, we grabbed a bite in the bar that wasn't there on my previous visit. Cool "Hard Rock Cafe" kind of vibe with autographed guitars and rock memorabilia all over the walls and ceilings. They had some live music playing, which was loud and made it hard to relax and chat after our round of golf. Not your typical golf clubhouse/bar area, but it seems to be pretty popular local hangout.
