AN excellent course in great early spring conditions. Fairways were green and lush. Greens were smooth and fast. Starter advise to play less break than you see was spot on. Played on March 27.

Played Friday morning 7/29/16 at 9:00 am. I had driven to all 3 city courses and all were busy, but I took the chance at Arroyo because it looked the least busy. I paid my greens fee of $25 and the starter said, "head on down to the tees." Paired up with another single and off we went. The course was in good condition with well maintained fairways and greens and the usual hard packed bunkers. We got slowed down on the fourth hole and ended up letting the twosome behind us join up for the rest of the round on the sixth hole, where we found out the reason for the delay. A local high school had 4-6 groups playing as part of their 40th reunion. Once I knew the reason, it was just a take your time, relaxing round. I ended up playing well and attribute some of it to the good condition of the course.

Played Los Altos on a Saturday morning. Greens had been punched about two weeks ago, but have been slow recovering. They were still bumpy and sand covered. The course is growing in and they are obviously trying to improve it with several areas under repair.

Played Sunday August 21st. The course is in great shape. From the tee to green, the course is playing about as good as any I have played in Albuquerque this year. There were a normal amount of divots on the tee boxes and fairways, but the greens were excellent. There were very few un-repaired ball marks and the greens rolled true. The speed was on the fast side. The rough was thick and lush and provided appropriate penalty for missing the fairway. Pace of play was average, it took a little more than 4 1/2 hours, but I rarely felt like I was waiting on anyone else to take my next shot. The staff was friendly and accommodating to a single walk-on. I didn't partake of the snack bar or driving range, but the practice putting green was a good representation of the greens on the course and had plenty of targets to aim for. Price was reasonable, $55 to ride at 8:00 on a Sunday.

Golf course has made significant improvements since the last time I played. There are still some areas on certain greens that are coming back, but for the most part, the greens have healed, are green and appear healthy. The fairways are in good shape, grass has grown in nicely. The areas of rough right next to the fairway are lush and long in several places (2-4" +). Overall, the courses is back in good condition and I will probably start coming back out here in the afternoon. At $12 twilight, even if I only finish 9 holes, it's well worth the green fee. Now if I could just keep my ball in play....

Played the front nine in league play on Tuesday. Course is in good shape for this time of year. The fairways are green with a only a few un-repaired divots, the greens run a little quick and mostly true, and the tee boxes are getting moved around enough to keep them in good shape. Pace of play was a little slow for the league, but not terrible. Bunker sand was consistent and the rough just off the fairways is lush. If you get much further out, it opens up to typical desert scrub and sand. There were a few greens with numerous ball marks that hadn't been repaired.

Played 4/20/11 after work. I had heard that the course was not in good shape, but decided to try it out anyway ($12 green fees will do that to you). I was really disappointed in the greens. More than half of the greens were spotty at best. They must either have some kind of fungus/insect problem or the staff has given up. The greens had numerous areas of dead grass on them. Mixed in with the growing grass, this made putting a serious challenge. I decided on the first green I played that I would play it like a course that had just punched, 2 putts at most. The fairways also seem to have the same problems, just not as noticeable as the greens. This was a course I played often last year because it is cheap, but I will have a hard time going back soon, even for $12.

Course was in good shape. They did aerate on 3-14/15 as advertised here. Greens seem to be recovering well, but they were still very bumpy from the aeration. Fairways in good to great shape. Rough really hasn't started to grow yet, so it was no challenge to be off the fairway by a little. Took advantage of the winter afternoon special, green fee and 1/2 cart for $25 after 12:30. Did not use the driving range or snack bar on this visit. Overall course is in good shape and getting better.

Played 12/30. Course was in fantastic shape. Tees, fairways and greens were all in great shape, the rough was thick, green, and healthy (but not very forgiving!) Pace of play on the front 9 was not very good at 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The back 9 played significantly faster and we finished the round in just over 4 1/2 hours (just as it was getting dark). Although I didn't play very well, I can't blame the course. It rewarded good shots and penalized bad ones (just like it is supposed to). Staff was courteous and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our round.

Played 12/28 just after 7 am. Course was in good shape and played at a decent pace. Tee boxes were in good shape, fairways were also in good shape, but a little wet from the rain the week before. Greens were soft and medium speed, but rolled true. Once the water dries up, the course will be very good.

Played early afternoon on December 27th, course was very busy and played slow. From the first tee all the way through the round, we waited before just about every shot. We finished 9 holes in just under 3 hours and called it a day. The course was still wet from the rain the previous week and there were a few areas under maintenance.

Played at 7 am in late December and other than cold temperatures and a little fog, conditions were good. The tee boxes were in great shape, fairways well maintained and green, and the greens a little soft on the approach, but held good speed and lines. We were one of the first groups out and played in about 4 1/2 hours (our fault, not the course's). We were not pushed because it wasn't that busy until late morning.
