Played early morning 6/24 - fast and efficient service and easy to get out. Hard to argue with anything given the price, but greens are still recovering - slow and bumpy and difficult to make any putts on.

Also, a lot of aeration going on in the fairways and a lot of either brown spots on the back nine fairways and/or tons of casual water (especially on 18) making it almost impossible to find a spot to drop on. In short, maintenance issues exist and i'd give them another few weeks to get this place back in top shape.

Also, weather conditions seem consistently windier in this part of the desert than over on the courses that flank the Santa Rosa mountains, so it can make many of the holes trickier to judge.

A Semi-Private course with great services and customer attention.

The greens are perfectly smooth and played to about 10/11 on speed, hard but could hold shots in very well. The fairways ran pretty good to almost immaculate conditions. The roughs are lush and green. Bunkers... lots of bunkers here and are all in good playing conditions (the one's I was in, anyway). I'd say it's in its typical playing conditions.

This course is made to be fun and playable for many golfer caliber. Wide fairways but many-many bunkers in play. Wide easy greens to hit, but it may not be so easy to putt from the wrong side of the hole. Water comes in to play in a few holes. A driveable par 4 that could run up a score quicker than the 478 par 4, into the wind. The par 3's are amazingly mixed and could play from 148 to 231... that includes play for water, waste land, and some deep bunkerings.

I think it's a great course.

It was on the New Year's Weekend; This course is very popular to be played for it's great conditions and it's fantastic lay out. Although it is trailed around the homes of Sun City, it is a very wide open course with great huge whale tailed bunkering placed strategically on the course. It has the length for long hitters and definitely a must posses short game around the greens. However, no matter what skill level a golfer has, this course is very enjoyable and very much pleasing to many golfers' eye. This is a well kept golf course and fun to play. I've never brought anyone who does not like this course.

As popular as this course is, we played it Friday, Saturday & Sunday and it was packed all three days causing the round of play to run close to 5 hours. I've never played this course more than 4 hours in the past year and a half that I've been coming, but I guess, this is what people do around here on New Year's weekend... They play golf and have a great time.

Here's a tip that might help you plan if you are coming out on a Sunday... The first and third Sunday of the month, during this season, the Men's and Ladies club has the course blocked off for play in the morning. They may let a few groups out up to 7:00AM but that's it. The following time available after that will be at 12:07PM.

A great deal! a decent course. A couple of long par 3's. The pace of play was great! The greens were still a little rough from recent aerification, but did I mention it was a good deal! For the price I paid, I couldn't believe it included a cart and range balls...cheaper than spending 3 hours at the driving range hitting a couple of buckets of balls.

It didn't affect it much on a tall peg, but on par three holes, it might affect irons shots as some guys in my group were saying... But other than that the bunkers and fairways A-OK.

The range must have received new balls again as they were all pretty shiny and new.

The playing condition of the course at Shadow Hills Golf Club remains to be as good as it has been in the past. I play this course a lot and it's hard for me to keep repeating what I've noted before. I mean, the course always keeps a great high standard of maintaining its playing conditions, the staff always serves at their best.

The specials begin as early as 10:00AM... Rates now are as low as $29. I'm sure that's after 10:AM or with a coupon if it's earlier, but in any case this course is a great VALUE!

Though I don't care much for proshops, they are one of the most reasonably priced proshop with lots of specials at all times, including a great inventory. Another one I could care less for are the beverage carts, but they have'em depending on how many groups have gone out, I imagine.

Our foursome played for $29 each early Sunday morning...what a great deal. The cart guy set us up with complementary water and the range balls are included in the price.

Our foursome played for $29 each early Sunday morning...what a great deal. The cart guy set us up with complementary water and the range balls are included in the price.

For this time of year, the course is in very good shape tee to green. We played from the blues is about 6400 yards. Most of the fairways have generous landing areas but the greens are well protected by bunkers and there is a lot of water on this course. If you don't land the fairway chances are you will have an awkward lie.

The green complexes can be tricky with many tiers and breaks. They ran true, however, and the speed was medium/fast.

The layout of this course is very good and challenging. Even though you have open fairways, most of the par 3's are very long and a few of the par 4's are well over 400 yds from the blues (one measured 455 yards). There are no easy holes but Shadow Hills plays very fair.

My only complaints are a jerk of a Marshall who kept harassing all the of the groups during the front 9 even though pace of play was good (under 4 hours on a Sunday morning) and no one was complaining. We were all grateful when he disappeared at the turn. I would have liked to see a cart girl instead, but unfortunately, she never showed.

Overall, Shadow Hills is in excellent course and a great value. I'm looking forward to playing here again soon. I just hope it is the day the cart girl is working and the Marshall has the day off.

We played Shadow Hills from Friday through Sunday. Fairways aeration were in activity up untill the 4th of July with multiple modern equipments and an army of crew working like a symphony with the players... it was impressive to watch how coordinated it was rather than panic that we all could be waiting.

The coarse type bermudas on the greens are prominent, but they are cut low to a medium fast speed. Smooth but could encounter some bumpy parts "against the grain" which is normal and typical of the bermuda grass.

New sand are in. Some bunkers may have more pluff than others, some may be wet or dry. This is due to the attention towards the fairways aeration as a priority. In a week or two, it will be fine.

Outside tournament began from early morning through 7:50am on the 4th of July. The round took 4:45min to finish with a starting time of 8:06.

July 3rd & 5th (Fri/Sun) each round took 3:45 without rushing any shots/putts/bunker raking... it was it's normal traffic moving along.

The marshals and the beverage cart made its rounds more than a few times to pass out cold towels and cold bottled of water.

All in all, the course remains to be in good shape and in good playing condition.
