WOW, I spent the summer traveling and playing golf. I haven't been here since June or so. I met up with some old friends for an afternoon game yesterday....... WTH happened to this place?????????????? Worst condition I have ever seen! I guess you could play if you brought along your own mat to hit off of. Almost no grass in the fairways and if you were lucky enough to find a patch it was full of rocks. I damaged a nice wedge from a fairway. The course should pay me back for it! I hear Trilogy bought the course? Good to know that there will be 2 courses that have lousy fairways to play on out in the IE! Don’t know how to put it any other way but the IE is going the wrong direction!

We scratched together a small game on Friday. Not sure what phobowl or sammy3 are talking about, but aside from the fairways being decent the greens had some issues. I have played this course on and off since I was a kid. I have seen these greens way better than they are now. Looks like some kind of yellow fungus with bumpy circles all over them. The fairways were in great shape though and lots of new sand in the bunkers. Not a busy day so we blew through in about 4 hrs. Anyway, the routing of the course is fun but the greens need some help!

Nice day for golf yesterday. Course was in decent shape but many greens were still in bad shape. #1 was really in bad shape and#2 was sanded and still showing large punches. The back 9 had better greens but still only a 6 out of 10 at best. Pace was great with only 4 hours. I was in the sand quite a bit and (aside from the footprints) the bunkers were excellent. Most tee boxes were in good shape too. I would say it was worth playing but if they keep it up it should be even better in another month. The biggest issue was the tee time I booked with golf now for the rest of our group. They have screwed us so many times its ridiculous! When we arrived none of the times were in the system and they guys were told they needed to pay full rack rate. It took forever to figure out the mistake that golfnow made. Even with the golfnow confirmation, it was still an hour and a half of hassle....... not the first time by the way either!!!

Goose Creek,

Played Yesterday. Been a while but thought we would try it based on some good reviews. Personally, I have never thought too much of the track. Not the most challenging course. They have no rough to speak of so you have to be very wild to find trouble on most holes....... all in all I think that’s why lots of people like it. The course conditions however were good but the greens were not good. Pace was decent at around 4 hrs. Tee boxes were all decent and the only bunker I was in was trampled by the “people” in front of us...... the new normal! Great grass driving range and service. Greens were awful, bumpy and hard.

We managed to get out yesterday, Sunday the 24th. Pretty busy but we had some slow pokes in our groups so the pace was stable, I guess. The course is looking better than our last time around a couple weeks back. They finally managed to get some grass grown around the lay up and chipping areas around the greens. They also didn’t have anymore green painted fairways! With this being said, its still a far cry from the old days of Summerly. I will give the guys props on the efforts though! The greens were as good as I have seen them in some time, with a fast, smooth roll. They are still firm and even with a good shot, with spin, they don’t have the “insta- checki” that most courses have....... but that’s the nature of the course! The only draw back are the usual suspects that haven't figured out the uses of the rake. I was in a greenside bunker on #16 and got up and down from a clean lye...... thankfully, the no rake dip sh$t s didn’t find that one..... but I saw some unbelievably trampled bunkers that looked like some idiot was digging for clams in...... or maybe for china!

Anyway, it was a decent day on the links...... too bad they had to punch the greens today, and just when they were getting good...... oh well, part of the deal! We are hoping they recover well and quickly and come back even better!

We played this afternoon as a twosome. Weather was cool in the AM but ended up very comfortable. Haven't played here in a while but the last time around, last year, the course was in decent shape, so we thought we would give it a try. Pretty smooth sailing during check in. Warmed up with a small bucket and some putts. Range was full of nice grass and putting green was just ok.
Lots of patches on the green and still recovering from being punched.

Were paired w/ a couple real WINNERS! These guys might have been better off playing soccer at the park. We let several groups go through, including a foursome of slow ladies and they left us in the dust. One of the bone heads picked up the ladies ball off the fairway and put it in his pocket.

The course is in overall decent shape coming off winter but the clumpy fairway grasses made for some strange lye's. Still, most of the fairways were firm grass with great roll. Greens still in need of some time from the aeration though. The greens were a little slow and the small holes left you at the mercy of the right bump. The bunkers were really good aside from the IDIOTS that just refuse to rake them. What is really sad is they were having a Billy tournament and those poor kids were going to have to hit from some A-HOLES foot print. What a shame as I told the tournament directors, marshal kid and the pro shop but they never said a thing to the dumb asses in front of us.

Hey golf course management, wake up and take charge! No need to feel like your offending some JERK by kicking him off the course for not abiding by the rules...... and you morons know who you are!!

Played yesterday PM with 2 buddies. Nice warm day with small crowds? Looks like they may be getting ready to do some work on the course soon. They were working on the practice range so it was only mats to hit from but no big deal. Fairways were so so in that they were still dormant but with good roll. Some fairways full of patchy grass. Tee boxes were very thick and lush, maybe they were growing in from recent seeding, who knows? The greens were the highlight of the course. They were really smooth, very little ball mark damage and just a deep shade of green. The speeds were medium fast so putting was easy. The down side was a group of certain people who just refuse to use the rake in the bunkers. I cant believe how bad and disturbing this is!!! My partner said I shouldn’t accuse them of not raking until we see it happen, so we made a wager on it...... needless to say I won! Anyway, 27 holes of good fun golf!

We had a match Saturday AM with a few other local pros. One in our group couldn't make it so we were told that they had a guy set join us who was working on making it to the PGA tour. I went to the range to warm up a bit then down to the practice chipping green. I was stopped buy a guy hitting range balls next to the green who said that this area was for special people only. I thought he was just joking because this practice area is open to the public and I have used this area for years. Anyway, the green was all sanded and not really worth dealing with but I was laughing inside at the arrogant asian that basically told me to beat it, yet he was practicing there. Got to the 1st tee and who should appear but the special guy himself.
Tee boxes and fairways seem to be decent. The special guy hit his tee shot OB to the right. Greens were decent but a little patchy and bumpy. Fairways were ok with good run out but some patchy uneven rough. Pace was fair, if you think 5 hrs. is fair. Still a decent day of golf with one in our group beating all of us with a 65. The special guy shot mid 80’s or so, but he hit his second shot in the lake on 18 he just kept driving away and off the course I guess......... he was special!

Played on Monday Feb 11 at Industry Hills (Eisenhower). Course set up well but a really cold morning for golf. Greens fast and smooth with perfect fairways and tee boxes. Wish I had a later tee time but that’s the luck of the draw. Good course with great staff. Shot 72 but not good enough to qualify!

Played the Northern Trust qualifier on the 7th on the South course. I grew up playing this place and it used to be an awesome track that was always in great shape but not a lot of good things to say about the course these days. I would have figured they would have gone the extra mile for us but..... Mushy and clumpy rough, some bunkers were hard pan and some soft dirt. Greens were decent but the rest of the course was nasty! Managed to make it to Monday qualify at Industry Hills.

Not a bad day on the links. Showed up as a single at 11:00. Very quiet for this place!! Walked into the pro shop and only 1 guy checking in. Told the guys I would hit a small bucket and wait to join a group. A couple well dressed Billy’s (kids) showed up to play the South so I was paired with them thinking they had game. Don’t let the nice PGA look fool you. Anyway, hit balls and went to the tee without seeing anyone in front of us. Billie's thought they would play the back black tees at 7500 yards but I had to set the Billie's straight on that deal!
Great day with overcast and a little humid for this time of year. Another single joined us so away we went as a 4some. Pace of our group was a little slow because the Billie's had to go through the PGA TOUR mannerisms that did nothing for their game aside from look good. BOY, inside I was just rolling!! One kid has every fancy club and high tec shaft known to man but would be hard pressed to break 100. Oh well, public golf at it’s finest. Course was decent and predictable winter golf here with it’s clumpy weed fairways and rough. Greens were acceptable and rolled pretty fast with some bumps. I never got into a bunker but the Billie's did and sand looked pretty good. Managed to shoot 6 over with 2 doubles from inside 80 yards.......... that’s right!

Here we go again! Gave this place another try after the last bad experience with KJ. Got a deal for 23 bucks at 11:30 so couldn’t turn it down. This time I dealt with a guy named Chris in the shop who was a nice kid and helpful...... none of this korean bad attitude business like we always get from the other guy. So the place was a zoo with no carts available to even drive to the range. Again they had no groups to join so I waited an extra hour to be paired up with a twosome. I saw these two on the range and don’t believe they ever played golf on a course before. Anyway, I had already paid so I knew I was doomed! I got to the tee where I play from the back. They were starting us on # 10. These guys told me up front that they were really slow and really bad. I told them that it didn’t matter how bad you are as long as you can keep up with the pace of play. They elected to play the blues where I knew was too much. Just before I was ready to tee off another guy came down and asked to join us. He was the marshal and getting off work. After doing our intro he asked why I was playing the tips and made the “oh a hero” remark. I thought to myself this might just be an interesting day. I proceeded to rope one down the center and down the hill. Mr. marshal played the white. After hitting I rode up to the guy and said “ I play from the back tee’s because that’s where my handicap alloys me to play” he ask me and I told him it was 3.2 at the moment and that doesn’t matter and his comment was pretty stupid.
Anyway, the other two guys were so horrible and took at least 20 shots per hole and lost countless balls until we finally joined another twosome of real winners! So the course was in pretty good shape with fast greens. Most of the fairways were fine and a little dormant but not a problem. I was in 2 bunkers and they were ok with a little hard pan under a thin layer of san. Now, the pace of play was sooooo bad at over 5 hours finishing in the dark. Managed to shot 2 over with a couple bogies on the last to holes............ but I blame it on darkness. I don’t know if I will be back anytime soon. Between the guy KJ in the shop, lack of a marshal, the idiots on the course and just plain unorganized management I feel that place is going to go down the tubes if it keeps up!
