Great course for the value, $49.00 special. But this course is not worth much more. Fairways very wet, not the greatest conditions. Sand traps still terriable, never made an attempt to improve them. Tee boxs are great they have done a huge amount of work on them. Still good course but diffacult layout tends to a little slower rounds.

This was my first time playing this course and I really enjoyed it! The service was great, the guy at the first hole educated us on the conditions, what to look out for and what not. The scenery was amazing, we played in some fog but the course was in tremendous shape. I have no complaints about this course. It is a bit pricey but once you play courses of this caliber, then anything less is just not worth it anymore.

Played 11-6-07 @ 9am. Length of round: 4-3/4 hours. There's always lots of waiting on the front nine and the usual delays on holes 16 - 18. Not too bad though.

Played 11-6-07 @ 9am. Length of round: 4-3/4 hours. There's always lots of waiting on the front nine and the usual delays on holes 16 - 18. Not too bad though.

Fairways: Lush - The over-seeding has taken well.
Rough: Virtually non-existent due to the Bermuda grass going dormant. EG is putting a lot of work into patching the bare spots with sod, but there still is some bare mounding in the rough area(s).
Greens: Excellent and fast.
Tee boxes: Just like fairways.
Bunkers: Firm, but mostly playable.
Overall course condition: 8

Staff: Friendly and helpful.

Note: Driving range balls used to be complimentary w/ payed round, but now they charge $5 for a small 30ct. bucket.

I used to play Eagle Glen all the time, but for whatever reason it had fallen out of our rotation. Decided to give it another shot today before they shut down for overseeding. First off, the started told me they were closing Sept. 24 to the 30th, not on the 17th as posted on the site. That said, course is in fairly decent condition. The fairways are brown, but they are cut tight and have lots of roll. Grass is fluffy, just brown. Greens were in very good shape. Some ball marks, but they were pretty quick and rolled true. Tee boxes a little beat up, but they aren't that big so there aren't a lot of areas where they can work from to let them recover. For 45 bucks with a cart, it's well worth the money. Only complaint...the "pager" system they use. You pay, they give you a buzzer, much like at a restaurant. When it's time for you to tee off, they buzz you. Well, ours never buzzed. Starter said he buzzed us three or four times, so he let a couple other groups out in front of us. It was obvious we were waiting in our carts by the practice green. All he had to do was walk fifty feet down the hill to see if we were a certain group. then again, i suppose we could have walked up to him, too. Still, it's a lame system. Kind of on par with APPLEBEES.

I played EG on 9/3 with the temp hitting 112 degrees! After calling around they had the green fee lowered to $35 so we braved the heat and hit the course at 2PM.

Eagle Glen is a great escape from City golf with a definite wilderness feel. As one would expect with the severe heat we pretty much had the course to ourselves.

One of the nicer holes is the 4th (?) with its elevated tee’s. This hole starts well above the fairway but inexplicitly requires you to lay up due to the ravine that breaks up the fairway. It would have made more sense to allow you to wind up and smash a drive into the air for some big yardage. Despite this it is a fun hole that keeps me coming back.

While in the fairway on 4, the heat was broken up by a quick thunderstorm that had us concerned about the lightening around us. After about 45 minutes of rain and passing lightening strikes we resumed play with a nice 15-20 degree drop in temperature.

For the most part the course is in great shape, although with the recent heat there were some dry spots and the bunkers were in really poor shape.

The beauty of the course lays in the layout and the way the front 9 winds into the hills leaving you with some dramatic elevation changes and great views.

The back nine swings back towards the clubhouse in more of a traditional layout leading up to a great finishing hole, a par 5 that requires a straight drive, a second over a picturesque lake that if your tee shot was long and true should get you on the green.

My biggest complaint with Eagle Glen is the lack of fairway mapping. Distance markers except for the 150 yd poles are very spotty and this course would play better with the assistance of course knowledge or an in cart GPS system like the nearby Trilogy and Hidden Valley courses.

The other complaint is that the beverage cart only made one appearance, at the second green. Good thing we bought a few bottles of water otherwise we would have been quite dehydrated by the end of our round.

The greens were in pretty good shape considering the heat and had quite a few ball marks which is more of an etiquette issue with fellow golfers than the course management, although if management gave complementary divot tools at check in like some upscale courses golfers would be more inclined to fix their damage.

All in all at $35.00 Eagle Glen is a great deal, at the “normal” rates of $50 or so for weekend twilight I like the nearby Trilogy, Hidden Valley and Goose Creek a bit more due to the amenities. If Eagle Glen would splurge on some basic upgrades the choice for inland golf would be that much tougher.
