Played here Wed Jan 2 for the first time in well over a year. Based on all the recent positive feedback, I decided to give it another try. The staff is definitley more friendly than when Troon was running the show. I am a little confused by all the rave reviews of late as the greens were not in great shape. They were VERY sandy and loads of ball marks on EVERY green. We were the first group out and I fixed no less than FIVE ball marks on each green. After each putt, my ball was covered in sand/small pebbles. I will say, however, that most putts still rolled true. The fairways were dry and the rough was dormant. Tee boxes were in good/great shape.
New rates are $49 wkdy, $69 wknd. Range balls are no longer included with your greens fee.

Overall, much better than a year ago. We'll be back.

Plays slow, but a nice course. Play the appropriate tee box and you'll enjoy a challenging course. Play the wrong tee box and you'll have a long day...

I feel for all of the poor people who do not live here in California...you know...the unfortunate folks who live in parts of the country where they actually have to put their clubs in storage in November and have to wait for "golf season" to come around again.

As you all know...OUR "golf season" is 365 days long!

And what a pleasure it was to play golf on the official first day of Winter 2007...and to do it in shorts and a short-sleeved golf shirt! What a spectacular day in So. Cal.!! Barely a breath of wind, a blue sky and not a cloud to be seen. It was one of those days where you just wanna thank God that you are a Californian!

Now...about the course: Eagle Glen is "back in my rotation". Just like the weather on Saturday, the conditions at "The Glen" were fantastic. The greens have never looked better (and I've been playing this course since it opened!) and have never putted as true! That does not mean that the greens are "easy" by any stretch of the imagination! Bring your "A+" putting game to Eagle Glen, or you're in for a LONG day! The greens held all shots well...not exactly "dart-board golf" - but a fair and true test. The GPS system on the carts is first-rate! It even gives you sports scores!!

The fairways, while not "lush" - were as good as Eagle Glen gets in the winter. Not what I would call "thin", either....but - personally I'd like a little more grass under the ball in the fairway.

The bunkers...hmmmm. Well....if there is one thing I could say that was NOT to my liking it was the bunkers. I call them bunkers and not "sand traps" - - because...although they LOOK fine....there is very little actual SAND in them. Right under the surface of what little sand is in them, is a clay-like substance. No...let's call it as it was...it's CLAY! Like the stuff you made pots out of in Jr. High School. Took a while to get used to...but they really need to get to work on proper drainage in the bunkers. Either that, or I've gotta learn to not hit my golf ball into them!!

Play was SLOW. And although there were two marshalls out on the course...they didn't seem to be able to keep things moving. Five hours and fifteen minutes is just too long! When we went in to let the pro-shop know...they verified our time and said "Well...that's been the average today...right at 5-hours and a quarter!"

That's just NOT RIGHT! NO golf course should take over five hours to play. We waited on every shot...and the FIVESOME behind us was having no trouble keeping up with us!! Even the GPS said that we were "23 minutes behind" when we made the turn.

My solution: IF YOU'RE NOT A SCRATCH GOLFER...DO NOT PLAY FROM 'THE TIPS'!! Eagle Glen is all the golf course most of us need from the Gold or Silver tees.

Overall...a MOST pleasant golf experience.

Way better than those OC municipal courses for the same money. Easy drive too. Definitely will play here again. GPS was awesome.

First time playing this course 12/09, found a great deal - just $39 for a 12:30 start. This is a beautiful course, well maintain and managed. The course was still very wet from the previous 2 days of heavy rain, so the marshalls patroled around keeping the carts on the path. The tee boxes were lush and leveled. The fairways were lush and well trimmed. The rough was well... rough but easy to hit out of and you won't lose your ball. The bunkers has good sand but pretty hard packed maybe due to the H2O. The greens were great - even after all the rain was still firm, smooth and rolled fast. This is a pretty open layout but get careless and it'll cost you strokes. If you get through the front nine in good shape, the back nine will be a breeze (except for the 12th, 650yds from the black tee). My friends and I were asking ourselves why we hadn't tried this course sooner and we all agreed that we'd definitely be back.

over all I thought that the course was a great course but the average player didn't take care of theie divots or damage. the grounds keepers were working hard to keep up.
