Considering the price of this course and the 6.6 rating, I was expecting an overpriced course in modest condition. I was more than pleased with the course, both the layout and condition. The course conditions were excellent and the greens were in good shape, minus a few unrepaired ball marks. The tee boxes, fairways and rough were all in good condition; so was the only bunker I landed in. The front nine layout was great. No hole was alike. As far as customer service, we saw the cart girl about four times. This was probably more than my last three rounds combined. I played for their summer rate of $69, which is a great deal for this course. Their regular rates of $125 are a bit steep, but if you can get on at twilight or before their summer rates end, I highly recommend it. Pace of play was 4.5 hours. This course deserves a much higher rating than 6.6.

Played today 7/23, 8:35 tee time. Staff was courteous, but not as friendly as usual, desk or starter. Course was in OK shape. Tees fairly level not too many divots, fairways were green with some brown patches from cutting them too short, the greens were lush not too many ball marks but were rolling slow. Some of the back 9 fairways were punched, not mentioned when we started. PLayed in 4 hrs, two 2somes ahead of us and a 4some ahead of them were playing slow, could have been a bit quicker, had to wait on several tees to hit or wait for 2nd shots. Give it a 5 rating for this outing.

Played on 7/12 and the course was excellent. The fairways for the most part were nice and green with only a couple of brown areas, but nothing that would interfere with your game. The greens were smooth and pretty quick. The bunkers were inconsistent. Some of them had lots of nice fluffy sand and others were bare. Overall this course is great and plays great.

Played w foursome Sunday afternoon (7/1). Friendly staff and very likable starter who kept up with sending groups out on time. Got going and noticed a couple of things right off the bat. Fairways were a bit bare and brown. Not what I was expecting this early into summer. Interesting course that winds in and out of the mountains. Some fun blinds. Some interesting short par 4s that require some well played shots to avoid bunkers. Speaking of sand (in one and watching buddies try to get out of others) we all commented on how unkempt they were. Hardpan with little sand in the traps. The bunker I played out of actually had rocks. Greens were in pretty nice shape (med/fast & true). Good pace of play (finished in just under 5 on a Sunday with no push and no real abnormal waits). If playing an afternoon, make sure you use the cart gal as you don't really get back the clubhouse until after 18. Grab tons of water/gatorade as it's getting hot out there. Wouldn't say the $130 rack rate is worth it. Could play Trilogy for less. Played RedDot ($65) so all-in-all, enjoyable day out with the guys for a very resonable price. They need to work on those bunkers though! (I know, I know...stay out of them then.)

Teed off on time @ 10:15am on Sat. 6/16. Didn't appear to be very crowded but a steady flow of traffic still added up to a 4hr. 45min. round, which is about what I expected. Player assistant asked that we pick up the pace and close the gap with the group in front of us on #12. No problem.

Course was in good condition in spite of a few dry patches in some of the fairways. Still, fairway turf was excellent and the greens, although not very fast, looked good, held well-struck shots, and putted smooth and true. Not many unreparied ball marks on the greens either, a welcome sight compared to some of the other courses I've played lately. There is some poa eradication going on in the rough and around the fringes but it's expected to be completed and the turf back to 100% in about three weeks. Nice to see this maintenance process being performed in order to keep playing conditions up to snuff.

Tee boxes need some attention as many of them are far from being level. In fact, my left foot was in a 2" depression on one tee as I stepped into my address position. Needless to say, it took awhile to find a suitable area to hit from. Re-grading the tees would go a long way towards upgrading the conditioning level of the golf course.

My only major complaint is this: there were very few range spots open which, for a Saturday morning, is unacceptable. I counted only 12 slots available, which created a waiting line on the range. Some of those hitting balls were merely practicing. As a result, a couple of players were unable to hit their warm-up shots prior to heading to the 1st tee. Not good. With a range as large as this one, this shouldn't happen.

Decided to have lunch before returning home and was very satisfied with the quality of the food. Reasonable prices and good portions too. Overall, just a great day all the way around.

I say so is keeping a course no one wants to play, especially at these prices. fair at best. they cut the grass and let it lay leaving clumps of cut grass everywhere. For the $$$ there are better courses

Troon Golf will no longer be managing this facility by the end of the month, or the next month June 31. Can't remember the exact date. If any of you guys have Troon Reward points or vouchers, use them now as they will no longer be valid.

Still enjoy playing here and the the senior rate make sit a good deal.
