a bit of a drive from Torrance (60 miles, 55 minute drive with no traffic) played on Sunday at 11:48 AM, was extremely empty at that tee time, didnt see a group behind or in front until the 15th hole. I think because football season's started. Great conditions on the greens right now, a few dry spots on the fairways with some muddy conditions in various areas. Course itself is very smartly designed with good use of elevation changes to carefully pick out club choices. Similar to Black Gold in yorba linda though not quite as long. One problem i see is that the black tee boxes play at about 6900 yards while the gold tee boxes play at about 6300. While 6300 yards still make it a tough golf course, it would be nice to have a set of tees in the 6500-6700 yard range for some. great practice facility with a nice grass driving range, esp. since green fees include free range balls. will definitely be back

It'd been a while since I'd been to Eagle Glen. Last time there the service was horrible and the conditions not so great. I'd agree now the conditions are very good. Greens were pretty quick; looks like they'd been sanded a few weeks ago. They were in good shape. Fairways in good shape, too. Tee boxes (blacks) were many times very uneven. Pace of play was way too slow for a monday (almost five hours, 9:30 tee time). Only complaint..."cashier" in pro shop was at first professional, then...I made a comment about the constant 9/11 coverage on the tv that day (they had it playing in the pro shop)..."hard to get away from that today," I said. Cashier said, "that's the problem. People getting away from it. We should go over there today and kill a million of those f...ers." Direct quote. I'm sorry, but last thing I, or Troon Golf should want, is their employees ranting about murdering people. Sure, we're all entitled to our opinion, but I don't feel as though an employee handling my transaction should go off on a rant like that. It was offensive and rude. In the bar after work with the guys, fine, but not while you're running my credit card.

Play this from the black tees and you will know why you need to hit it straight. The front nine is mountainous and tee shots need to carry and be on target. The back nine is a beautiful view from the front 9 and flatter and wider but still a challenge. I loved playing it and I got a discount with the the Roger Dunn card. Hole 18 is a great hole with the water right and the risk/reward choices. Watch for the animal life, road runners all over the place and I even got up close and personal (20 feet) with a bobcat and her cub near the bridge on 18.

Havent been here for a couple of years,too much $$, but with $50 senior rate and high gas prices it is now a good deal if ya live close. . What a great golf course, first off, its beautiful ,the course is in great shape,except the bunkers. Dont get in the bunkers,some strange sand or dirt or ?? and lots of rocks, big freaking rocks. But,, thats the only bad thing. Everything else is terrific. Greens are fast, they hold shots and if ya dont know what to look for the breaks are not what you see. We loved the place, gonna be back next week. Pace of play was slow for a 7:30 AM tee time. no marshals that we saw. Bring stuff to drink in the early AM as the food shack doesnt open till 10. The cart girl is a doll and ya see here a lot after 9. As I said, we think this is a top 10.track.

Fairways were fantastic; even though recent repair is evident. Some traps were a little damp, which would fine if our tee time was not at 1230pm. Overall, Eagle Glen was a challenging, dynamic course and well worth the greens fee.

Played on 8/09 and golf course was in very good condition. Greens were excellent, fairways were lush, some bunkers were very hard packed, others were great. Some tee boxes, maybe four were hard to find a level spot on, but since they are large it can be found. With Red Dot special ($40.00/each) this is a course that has to played and played often. Summer senior rate is $45.00 and includes range balls and a hot dog and drink. Great layout, great location (no housing to deal with), very conditioning, and free range balls, what is not to like. A must play while it is in such great shape.

The pin placement was given to us by the start was not accurate so beware it can mean club difference if you can't see you hole. Sand traps were very firm from watering. This is course could easily play an solid 8.0 but beacause of the heat it is not as lush as it should be. But nonetheless a good course to enjoy.
