Played 3/5/06 in a tournament on a sunny warm day with only light breezes. It had rained in the area two days previous and the course was in excellent condition. Fairways, greens, and tees were all lush and well-kept. No bare spots, no ragged areas. Not much in the way of rough – if you get too far off line, many holes with lateral hazards and other bad stuff. It wasn’t “manicured” like some high-end courses, but everything looked great and fairways and greens rolled well and true. Bunkers were also in good shape. Watch out on those greens, as many subtle undulations can swing the ball away from the hole. Traps and trees are used to good effect to frame hole routings and narrow the landing areas and play lines - in some cases it’s an illusion, in some there’s just not a lot of room for error. Cart girl came by a couple of times. Pace was about normal for weekend players in a tournament format. No GPS, but yardage books available and most sprinkler heads marked – finding distances was never a problem. Overall, better conditions for play than at many more expensive courses. Minor complaint – ball washers often so far forward that blue tee players had a road trip to get their ball cleaned – in some cases no washer at all. Solution – ball washers and club cleaners on the carts! Overall, highly recommended.
