Played Wednesday 11:50 tee time. Range was on the mats instead of grass this day. Rest of practice facilities were open - great short game/chipping area. Pace of play was a little over 4 hours. Took us a few holes to catch the group in front, then short waits on each tee box after that.
Course is coming into the normal excellent conditions for the Goose. Greens are almost fully healed for the most part - probably another 2 weeks and will be perfect.
Tee boxes had good coverage and level. Fairways are near perfect. Sand traps are a bit of a mixed bag, not the super fine soft sand at other courses but certainly playable. Green surrounds are like carpet.
Staff friendly and helpful. Drink cart around twice on each nine.
Anohter great day at one of my favorite courses. Always recommend a round here.

Played 12/7 at 10AM. Check in was fast. Everyone in the pro shop was very nice. Went to the range to warm up before my round started. Beautiful practice facility at Goose Creek. I could spend hours a day practicing out there and enjoy every minute.

Course was in fantastic shape. Tee boxes were all level. Fairways were cut perfectly and had some roll out. Bunkers were good shape. Greens were holding shots very well and rolling very nice.

Goose Creek is a course that is made for everyone. You can walk it very easily and it makes you feel like your at a high end course without the high end price tag.

An epic day at Goose Creek was had by GK Cup 20 final foursome on Saturday 12-7-2024. Always a pleasure to tee it up with mpisarski01, roarksown1 and Dconnally. The match was close all the way down to the final hole. Check out the recap in the forums. I’ll also be posting some videos on the Greenskeeperorg YouTube Channel.

We could not have picked a better local course, or better weather in December, to play our championship this Saturday. The conditions were “dialed in” – Everything was lush, the sand white/beautiful, and greens running medium/fast/smooth. Pace of play starting on a packed Saturday 9:55am was still sub 4 ½ hours.

After the round we had a casual GK Cup ceremony on the patio, enjoyed a cold one and hung out a while. Hard not to at The Goose.

Saturday looked like a golf playground of kids embracing, learning and enjoying the game. Their massive practice/golf learning facilities and exceptional teaching staff had their hands full.

In the 20+ years’ operating Greenskeeper.org, I can’t think of a golf course that has done more to grow the game and provide consistently great golf experiences than Goose Creek Golf Club. Thank You – from all of us that love the game.

The GK Cup final was played this past Saturday at Goose Creek and no one could have picked a better spot that was in better shape. The Goose is always very consistently top notch, but on this particular day it was even better in just about every facet. Truly spectacular.

It helped of course to be playing on a picture perfect early winter day with temperatures in the high 70s, minimal wind if any, and absolutely clear skies. It simply doesn't get any better than this. And on top of that, the course itself was in prime shape.

Let's start with the fast-rolling greens - unbelievably consistent and inviting. The greens themselves are super challenging with many subtle breaks and levels but a good putt here is absolutely rewarded, but the speed must be dialed in, especially on the tricky downhill ones. They also held shots very well and were simply a joy to be play upon.

The fairways? Fantastic. Not a bad lie all day. Even the areas around the greens, while challenging, were super fair and consistent. Middle of fairways were absolutely carpet and it was so much fun to hit from good spots. The rough was definitely a challenge in some areas but it was never so deep as to make it impossible. Bunkers were in very good shape as well with fluffy, white sand and just the right depth to make necessary shots. Tee boxes were also just great (we played from the 'blue' IV tees).

POP was amazing as well at this properly-run facility. We finished in around four hours and fifteen minutes and never spent any crazy amounts of time waiting. We also had cart service come around at least 4-5 times during the day, so that was outstanding. And what about practice facilities? Top notch ... great putting and chipping areas and the range is great although they do have large mats but no one seemed to mind moving forward a bit to use the grass for driver swings.

What else can be said? Goose Creek is absolutely at the TOP of its game right now so if you want a quality golf experience at a tremendous value, this is the place to be. What a treat.

The rest of the course is in very good condition.

I hadn't seen any recent reviews so I thought I'd provide an update. Near perfect conditions in almost every way. I don't know how it could be any better. The tees are level with good coverage, the fairways are like a carpet and the greens are really nice, rolling medium speed and few if any ball marks. For all the play this course gets it's always in really good condition. The recent rains have just made everything more lush. Enjoy!

I missed the GK Plays outing at GCGC on November 17th and after reading the reviews about the great course conditions I wanted to get out there. Posted a Meet-Play on the GK site a week ahead of time for a 1:00 tee time, but I didn’t get any takers. GCGC doesn’t book for singles, so when I called to reduce the group to 1 they told me to just show up and they’d get me in as a single. They had a large group finish going off around 12:30 so the first tee was pretty deserted. I was paired with single who was pretty new to golf and we went off around 1:00 on Thursday, 11/30/23. The group in front of us was occasionally playing the Goose tees (not even on the normal scorecard, so no Roman numeral!). I didn’t know there was a tee next to the cart path on #2 – it’s the Goose tee for #3 and you need to wait for it to clear before hitting on #2.

GCGC recently came out of their annual maintenance and looks great. Lots of lush green surrounds and the white bunker sand really pops the eye. Greens are the first thing you think of after aeration and maintenance and they were in good shape. The course had them cut down pretty tight and they still showed the holes from punching, but rolled just fine at medium+ speed. There was some inconsistency in the firmness, as some greens were very firm and released shots, while others were softer and you got pretty big ballmarks.

Fairways were cut pretty close but with good coverage, and the ball sat just fine. Overall the turf is still damp from recent maintenance/weather and the ball doesn’t run out like it does when the course is drier. I had a few mudballs in the fairway today. The first cut of rough was pretty short and easily playable. Tees were level and just fine; the course had the III (White) tees pushed well forward on some of the par-3s. I was in a few traps and sand quality and quantity was fine – too bad so many people don’t use the rakes, including my playing partner.

We played through a group of women golfers on #11 and then occasionally bumped up on that earlier foursome playing the Goose tees. Overall great pace and we finished before 4:30 with plenty of daylight left. Saw the cart girl a few times but no marshal today.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience at the Goose in all the years I’ve been coming here. Always recommended.
