Mixed review this time,, course is being tended to by a lot of workers,course is fun,different,a challenge, demanding at times,rewarding most good shots. However, fairways are swamped in some locations,not a big deal but the workers plow thru and muddy up the fairways,,greens are tough,smooth,hold shots,best we have seen them for some time. staff is as always very professional. coke at the snack bar $2.50,a rip-off. price of golf and cart is a good deal for what you get.GPS on the old carts cant be correct, just off a bit, enough to **** ya off. We will be back, great fun and a good test. really, this place is getting better every day,good value.

Played there for the first time in a few years. I always enjoyed the vistas that the course provided, so we thought we'd give it a try before it was modified. It was kind of empty for a Sunday morning, but we ended up with some slow people a few groups ahead, so the round took about 4:45 when it should have probably been closer to 4 hours. There were no marshals on the course, nor was there a starter at the first tee. The first thing that we found out in the Pro Shop was that the housing development fell through (nixed by the Norco City Council), so that there were no plans to close 9 holes at this point. Hopefully, they can take a new direction and put some improvements into the course. As previous posts said, the grass was a bit muddy in spots and the bunkers were hard as a rock. The distances on the GPS on the carts were suspect, so we had a hard time trusting them. We still enjoyed the course, but the course has some work to do to make the experience even more enjoyable.

Course not in very good shape at all. A lot of dead cut grass lying all over the course. Not very good directions to the different tee boxes(blue vs white). All of the tee monuments look as if the are 50 years old. I thought it was a total rip to have to pay an additional $3 per person for such a low quality GPS system. I haven't played this course in about 6 years, and will not be going back any time soon. For about the same price go to Goose Creek, that is a much better track.

Played yesterday in 4 hours basically going at our own pace. Course was rather empty... The course scores high marks in almost all categories except the sand was very poor. Not sure if it was due to a dumping of rain or overwatering but it was hard on every hole that I looked at (or was in...). Other than that, the 9th fairway has some bare spots and it appears they are trying to fix it as it was rather wet. I found myself admiring the quality of the grass in the fairways many times... it's the kind you get a nice fluffy lie off of and you can make a really good connection w/the ball cuz your not hitting off of clay like the low end courses that are out there. Amazingly receptive greens that hold exceptionally. If you can drop your ball on the green on your approach shots it generally won't roll more than 1 - 2 feet. DO NOT let the practice putting green fool you as it was MUCH faster than the greens on the course although the greens do roll very true. Also, due to a tail wind on the last couple of holes the par 3 16th hole played about 4 clubs less than normal and it really shortened up hole #17 and 18. I was quite worried that the heat would be unbearable but it was rather comfortable and the winds help keep you cool.
Still love the views and the course IS scorable if you can keep it in the fairways. Bring a few extra sleeves if you are a hacker as the fairways are ultra narrooooooooow.

Hidden Valley is probably the best Course/Layout!!/Value in Southern Cal. (Besides Rustic Canyon). Awesome LAYOUT. Well designed holes. A hard course overall because of all the O.B. however a very fun day and I am the average player at 95 (23H). Played Sunday 7/17/05 at 9:30A. Our fourth was late so we had to let 2 groups go ahead of us and the 1st group that went ahead of us were perhaps the slowest group I have ever seen in my life. (15 minutes- I kid you not at each tee box!!!) After seeing this while putting at the practice green I called the starter right away at the first hole. They were great..professional...sent the 70-year old marshall out and he promptly took care of it by letting not only the group ahead of us play through but ley us as well play through so we were able to enjoy our day and play a 4-1/4 hr round on a Sunday!!!!!!!! Hats off to the Starter/Marshall....Anyways, I've played at over 50 different public courses since last year and I rate Hidden Valley to be one of the BEST courses period!!!!

The course had rain damage in some areas that were being treated but I did not score this course any less based on those factors. The customer service was ok considering out tee time was set at 6AM, first one out and the office employees got their late because we were unable to use the driving range for long. This is course is beautiful first of all. Located in the hills of Corona this course is definately a precision course. Narrow fairways, up hill shots, down hill drops, this course had it all. It give it a four star for the worth green fees option because you are paying for a beautiful and challenging course.
