3Oct11 - Be prepared for surprises when you are "close" to the green. The grass is the type that makes you wonder if you're hitting a velcro ball into the loops. Then, when you miss the chip, it chunks. Not a complaint - a compliment about how challenging the course can be if you don't make the right club choices. The greens sometimes offer an optical illusion. Better look both directions to determine a break. Ever see a ball roll fast "uphill?" I did. The trees on both sides of the fairway offer a great target down the middle, unless a hill affects the roll of the ball. Stay out of the tree line, or you're destined for decisive play: "Hit it to the fairway, or try to make it through an opening." The growth in the rough will deceive you. Overall, this course is a total treat to visit and play. The staff is top-notch, the amenities are great, the layout seems less challenging than it really is. Great value.

Played 8-24-11. This course is always maintained well. It is a classic tree lined layout that plays easy if you keep it in the fairway off the tee. The rough is short-but penal as the cucuya grass will grab the clubhead. Greens are soft, but not slow. Very smooth putting surfaces. Do not play run up shots to these greens as the local grass will grab at the ball and either stop it or deflect it in a different direction. Your 60 degree is your friend at this golf course.

OK for the money. Tee boxes were mostly level, fairways green but not always with grass-lots of weeds, some bare spots, greens held but were slow to medium. Staff was great, from clubhouse to cart girl who we saw 4 times. The biggest problem I saw was 5somes. While we finished in about 4 3/4 hours, we were held up on the back nine by a 5some who told us another 5some was in front of them, I also saw 2 other 5somes else where on the course. Overall good but not great.

Just played there today on 4-15-11. I usually only play out in the La Quinta area golf courses. I am used to dessert golf. I was suprised on how well the course looked. Allot better than most inland empire golf courses. Tee boxes were level, greens were in great shape. Fairways were great. Very green. I would have no problem coming back. This course is a very old school course. It will make you a better golfer the greens were tough and the mature trees makes it a shot makers course.

The only thing consistent about the greens were there inconsistency. Some fast, some slow, just guessing all day. Played 2 weeks ago and course was in way better shape. It just has gotten bad.

Decent course. The greens to me were nice, rolled smooth and quick and not patchy. Fairways were pretty weak. Lots of hard areas and way too many divots, almost penalizing to hit the fairway, as the rough at times was better to hit out of. Bunkers were a bit too hard packed for my taste and tee boxes were divot marked a lot, had to back my tee up a bit so I wasn't stepping in a divot already there. Course itself plays well for me, as there are plenty of trees to knock down my sliced drives or other fairways to hit from. Not a place I'd drive that far for if I didn't have to though. Maybe if I was a local resident.

It wouldn't be completly fair rating this course badly just based on how I played, which was terrible. However I was not to fond of the layout of the course. I didn't hit very many fairways, close to none, but they were decent quite a few thin areas. The rough is where I spent most of my time and wasn't the best. There were some good areas but most were patchy. The sand wasn't too bad, a little firm but definitley playable. The greens however were in great shape but were hard for me to read mainly because they were straight putts and I'm used to more break and the speed I could not get right for the life of me. Thanks to great fellow GK'ers I played with I still had a great time but I will not be returning to Jurupa Hills Country Club anytime soon if ever.

Played first light - heavy frost, but they allowed me to go. Wow! It was cold! high 30's. While I question the wisdom of allowing play in the frost, it works for me. I must admit the greens were excellent and have not been affected at all by their decision to allow early play. The course is in about it's usual condition... a bit scuffy, but playable. Fun little track to get around quickly.

played the course for the first time this morning-10/16. was expecting a so-so course for $46/rd. , but was pleasantly surprised with the layout and condition. Definitely worth the green fee, the only negative I can say is that a freight train came nearby during the round, and was a bit annoying, but definitely Great value, will certainly return to play in the near future.
