Played for the first time in a tournament on Saturday 3/23. I immediately got the old-style Southern California course feel (I had to look it up afterwards, and the course architect was the prolific and ubiquitous-to-SoCal William F. Bell). This meant spotting the pine tree as your 150-yd marker, and hoping to come across the 100-, 150-, and 200-yard markers in the fairways. I think I came across only two or three sprinkler heads with yardages printed on them during the round. The older course also meant big, tall older trees, which required more shot-shaping to get around. The course seemed to be a series of short par-4s that looked longer than they were, because you couldn't spot the greens from the tee box. The greens were either over a rise, or hidden past a dogleg. I think it would take playing the course three or four times to get comfortable with where you want to aim off the tee, but as a first-timer I was constantly trying to puzzle it out. The flags in the holes were also shorter than usual, so the approach shots appeared longer than they actually were.

The greens were in nice shape, a tad slower than I'm used to but they rolled smooth and true. One odd thing that popped up: the practice greens were aerated, signaling that the course would be as well, but only the 17th and 18th holes on the course had work done. Usually with aeration I either see one 9-hole side aerated, or the entire course, not just a couple of holes.

Got around the course in 4hrs 35min, which felt quick for a weekend tournament round. Service in the pro shop and in the coffee shop was very friendly and helpful. No beverage cart, just some scattered drinking fountains, so stock up before the round and at the turn.

A buddy of mine invited me to play out here this morning (and pay for half my green fee), so I couldn't resist. I've always had a fondness for Jurupa. Fun course and generally a solid step above lower-end courses in terms of conditioning. We had a 8:00 time through GN ($46, not great, but not bad for a Saturday morning). We played with another twosome and the pace was nice for a weekend at 4:20. Despite very heavy fog early on, the course was running at a nice pace. I commend the guy in the clubhouse, who kept things organized and on time with announcing players to the first tee. This one guy was doing a way better job than most courses do with multiple pro shop workers and starters.

The course was in pretty nice shape. The greens are great right now. Just about perfect, though they are getting ready to punch next weekend. The greens are always the highlight here in terms of design and conditioning. The fairways were mostly green and pretty good overall, but rather shaggy in places and patchy here and there. Sometimes you'd have a nice fluffy lie sitting up and other times it would sink down a bit in a poor area. Rough was nice throughout. Pretty thick in some areas. I wasn't in a bunker, so I can't comment on those. Tee boxes pretty good.

This is a fairly short course, but tight. Plenty of trees come into play and add some challenge. I always have fun out here.

Course is in good shape, greens are awesome, quick and smooth. Looks like majority of players actually fixing pitch marks which is nice to see. Rough is Jurupa Hills normal, thin and stringy with patches of dirt/mud to contend with but Hey ! miss the fairway ? what do you expect ? Fairways were ok, too many divots that people dont take the time to put some sand in after hitting their irons. (you shouldnt have any sand left in your bottles after 18) I have played here for many years and I really commend the maintainence staff for the improved conditions which make this course very enjoyable, no longer is it just a cheap twilight course

The greens are the best part of this old style course. Generally they were in very nice condition and reasonably quick. I wish they would use some of the "fingers" on these greens which could make for some great and interesting shots.. The fairways were hit or miss with a general "scruffyness" to them. Some of the areas around the greens were very thin and made chipping very tough. Nice little old course. Wish we had more of these around.

Greens were in great shape and were rolling pretty quick (and couldn't really be stopped going downhill!) Fairways were very patchy:. They were mostly dormant Bermuda, but had many spots of what looked like winter rye so you never knew what kind of lie you were going to have even from the middle of the fairway. Rough was mostly nonexistant but thick in patches around the greens. Was never in any bunkers, but they looked average. Tee boxes were good for the most part (except 16 which was awful), and the par 3s were a bit beat up but no more than what I expected.

You shouldn't be expecting anything spectacular when you come here and I wouldn't pay more than $40 for a round. The course itself is surprisingly intriguing despite being so short so it's worth it when the conditions are good.

Layout is interesting, short and tight. They’ve done a good job improving the conditions of the course from last year. Good course for the money.

I do not play here very often, but I kinda like this course. A nice departure from the longer, more difficult high end tracks. This course is very playable and has nice feel to it. The staff was great. The overall condition was nice. some of the greens a little bumpy, but generally they were fine. (They recently punched #2)

The shape of the greens on this course is wonderful. I wish they would use some the "more unusual" possibilities, rather than just place the pins in the center.

Jurupa Hills CC has been one of our long time favorite little track. We visited it again 09/15 in the early morning. We were happy to see that the greens for the most part are doing well. Most the time, it rolled nicely "but still difficult to read!" (LOL) Also, although they told me over the phone that they weren't aerating till later next month, we found that 4 of the greens were aerated and sanded recently (2 in front side and I think only one on the back).

The fairways and teeing grounds were fair and the course played us more than we played it. . . worth the $46 (with or without cart)
