Played this course for the first time on Sunday the 22nd and am on the fence on whether I like it or not. The 100+ temperature did not add to the enjoyment of playing this course as I was more concerned about staying hydrated and surviving the heat. What I do know is course knowledge goes a long way in club selection. I'll probably try playing the course again in cooler weather before making a decision on whether to add it to my list of regulars. I do though want to commend ALL the course staff for being very friendly, informative and accommodating......great job!

I have played this course three times since it opened and have never gotten in a round under 5 hours. I guess the fact that the starter just doesn't seem to pace each group properly with adequate times before each foursome, combined with so many people playing it for the first time and you have extremely slow play.

Maybe I'll get out there when it's 100+ and get in a quicker round since it's bound to not be too busy.

Played on Sunday June 22 with an 8:27 tee time. Went to the first tee and was shocked to see five groups waiting, which resulted in my group not teeing off until after 9:00, while we were waiting I talked with members of the other groups and found that Summerly books a group every four minutes. After three holes of hit, wait, hit, wait, hit and wait my group was approached by the marshall who said that the group behind us was complaining about "our slow play", so I pointed out the group on the next tee, the group in the next fairway, etc, etc, and asked just exactly where we were supposed to be and was told that we needed to play quicker ??? So we played quicker and waited longer. After two more holes while the marshall followed us from shot to shot I had enough and asked the marshall to leave or refund my groups money then called the pro shop to tell them the same thing, at this point we were left alone to finish enjoying ?? the rest of our almost six hour round. As for the course itself, too much play with too little maintenance, so if you are into slow play tore up fairways and brown, ugly, slow greens, then this is the place for you. As for me I will stick with Trilogy, great course, great staff a little more expensive, but worth it. If you want to try a new course go on over to Dos Lagos it is much nicer than Summerly for the same money, just no clubhouse yet.

Interesting course to say the least. Nice clubhouse, - couldn't find anyone to help with my clubs - so questionable service. The guy behind the counter thought he was funny and tried to make jokes but was not very funny at all. Course looked great from the clubhouse nice and green the only problem was that, what you see is what you get. While the course was challenging it really isnt a true links course at all like over in scottland and Ireland where you can hit low running shots. If you hit them here they don't go anywhere - fairways to much grass and in front of every hole this burn (or something). It is just a regular course with not hills or valleys - very flat. We played during the heat and while it might be alot different during cool days, - it was miserable out there with no shade and a very slow pace of play. We teed off around 9:00 AM and didn't finish until almost 2:30. The only thing that was good was that the wind wasn't that bad, which I can only imagine will be the exception, due to the lake and nothing to block the wind.

DONT THINK I WILL BE BACK, even though it is very close to home.

Teed off today @9:40am, everthing I had heard about what a great and challenging course this was true! I never have been to Scotland but this seems to be the closest to a true links course that I have ever played. We bought a yardage book which really saved the day more than once by showing that hazards(the burms, the pot buckers and water hazards) which run thru out the course and being pretty flat you can't see them. The course tends to play alot like a desert course(ball runs on the fairways and club selection into the greens is crucial to keep it on the green!) The greens are firm, smooth but not too fast. The ball rolled true and had very little if any divot marks. Great customer service from all of the staff and plenty of restrooms and waterstands thru out the course. Saw the cart girl numerous times. The weather was a little warm(105 Degrees!)but with the proper attire and plenty of water it was a very enjoyable round of golf! Definitely would recomend this course as a must play and for $35 w/cart was well worth the greens fees! Finished in 4 1/2 hrs. I look forward to playing here again!!

This was my first time playing at Summerly and I was impressed. The links style course will challenge you if you can't keep it in the fairway. There are some holes that have an incredibly thick fescue that will add a stroke or two to your score. Also those burns are not visible all the time so I'd recommend buying the course guide in the pro shop. The greens are also very hard still and wont hold many shots. Many putts were left short because the greens are slooow. All in all, the course looks good and will give you an enjoyable round.

The greens were interesting in that they are smooth, but rather slow. I would say that some of the holes are pretty far apart so walking it made for a long day. I would play this couse again.
