Mennifee Lakes Course is Back in a big way! We not too long ago slammed this course for being in such crumby condition, BUT, it is back, in great shape. Greens are smooth, not too fast and tricky. Fairways and everything else is geeen and in very nice shape. Some bunkers are new with soft lumpy sand, but play OK. We will once again be using Menifee on our rotation. $35 senior rate weekdays is big time worth it! Fun day. Oh Yeah, the course isnt toooo hard but will bite if ya arent careful. One more note, with the improved freeway stuff almost done in Riverside getting there is MUCH easier from Inland Epire.

The greens are hard and fast. With winter grass a bit

Fine 20 minutes is okay, told to come back at 9:30 to check in. Came back and the same guy tried to tell us our time was 10:52. After some discussion he let us out at 9:52. !!! behind a 4 some with a kid that soon became a 5 some. No marshal. Like I said the course is in great shape. Get some decent personnel to match.

Yeah, the course is in rough shape. And, there's a foul odor on certain holes. Appears they are trying to cut costs. Too many good places around here to have to put up with the conditions there.

While always trying to see the good side of things.,cant do it this time.As stated back in June,the PALMS was not to be played untill someone posted a good review.So far that has not happened. Today we played the Lakes, what a tragedy. Very sad.Used to be a tough,in great shape,fun way to spend the day. Dont go there unless someone says its better, but,,, it will take a couple of months to get better. Fairways are dirt, bunkers are cement,mud,pools of water,we played all bunkers as GUR today. Greens have the Palms fungus,and,, its getting worse. tee boxes were a joke, round, uneven and grass was spotty.To make this even worse,we saw NO Workers on the course today. Dont be fooled by the driving range and the practice green, it aint nothing like that on the course. There were mud swamps in some of the fairways. Just a shame. We like the Menifee facility, we like the staff,If I was a new member and was looking at $10,000 + for the first year I would be beside myself. We will return when someone we trust says it OK.

played on 7/3. first time back in over a year. the greens were very SLOW for some reason, but in good shape. some of the best tee boxs in the buisness. i wish all courses would level out there tee boxs. how hard could it be? there kinda overwatering the course, so there's some mini lakes on the fairways. over all very nice course and can be forgiving at times.

Strike any previous comments or praise I may have given this place. Played 6/17, on the palms course...PATHETIC! Course is in extremely poor condition.

Bunkers = F- (that's a minus if you were wondering)

As my buddy noted in his review, the tee boxes were absurd. They didn't appear to be too tore up, but maybe that was because I was so busy trying to find a level spot to tee up my ball.

Greens were bumpy and slow. No consistency from one hole to the next. Huge patches of brown. I'm not a greenskeeper, but it looked like some greens had some sort of fungus.

Fairways were the most disappointing part. Last time we played the lakes, the fairways were excellent with very minor patches that were properly designated as ground under repair. This time was just the opposite. Almost every single fairway was completely thrashed. I am not saying just brown patches either. There were complete sections of fairway missing on nearly every hole. A section gone here, a section gone there...WTF? The worst fairways I have ever seen at a course that charges this much.

The bunkers looked like they were eroding. Totally inconsistent from bunker to bunker. Actually, one thing was consistent amongst all the bunkers, they were all TERRIBLE!

Oh and to the staff...Thanks for your complete disregard for the truth when I called you before booking my time and you told me the Palms was in great shape. What a fricking joke these guys are? The course was in terrible shape and when a prospective client or patron asks you a very direct question, you should just answer honestly and say that it's in crappy shape. You should let people know that every single fairway has been tomahawked to death by your maintenance crew for whatever reason, that the greens are terribly slow, that the tee boxes are severely unlevel, and that the bunkers seems to be working their way back to China via erosion. Thanks for absolutely nothing but a waste of time, greensfees, and gas.

If you ever consider playing this course:
1. DON'T DO IT!!! Just go over to SCGA or Cross Creek
2. If you must, at least sign up for their email club for discounts
3. Or, book through GolfNow.com; and most importantly
4. Expect the staff to lie to you over the phone

First, see comments of Spaul100 on March 4th re: the Lakes. Played the palms today w/Spaul and it was a totally different experience. The course was in less than ideal condition. The tee boxes were lopsided and sloped. It was very difficult teeing up on a flat surface. Additionally, the greens varied from hole, namely, many were dry, splotchy, and uncut, while others were cut, true and quick. There were some dead spots in the fairway and it just so happened to be 100 degrees out. The starter was unaccomodating and insisted we sprint to the tee box to avoid losing our starting spot (ungrateful considering we drove about 75 mi. to play their course). Not a terrible experience, but if you're in the area, pay the extra $5 and play Redhawk (just bring plenty of balls if you play the latter).
