Played Lakes on Sat. March 4. Fairly pleasant surprise. Course was in relatively good shape. Fairways are in very good shape for the most part. There are spots that should be marked as ground under repair and were not, but very nice fairways aside from limited spots. Greens rolled about an 8 or 9 and fairly true. Not too many ball marks on the greens. Pace of play was not bad either. Played in just over four hours and were stuck behind a very slow foursome (including a 60 year old lady playing a flourescent orange ball). Staff here is pretty good. The pro shop guy let us play some extra holes on the Palms when we finished our round on the Lakes. Marshalls are useless as usual. Some of the best cart girls around. Saw her at least three times on the front and four on the back.

My wife and I played this course on January 22nd and had a blast. The course was in generally good condition, although there were a few wet spots in the fairways. The greens were fast and true and the tee boxes were level and in good condition. The fairways are generous, but the rough is penal. Stay in the fairways, and you'll have a good round. Stray, and you will likely lose your ball in one of the many water hazards that guard the course. The staff was friendly and cooperative. This is definitely a course I look forward to playing again.

Gotta say we have stayed away due to repairs,large repairs, that were underway for a few months,, The cart paths are done,the new bridges are done,the big stuff seems to be finished and it looks great. They were cutting the rough today, thats good, the fairways are almost in good shape, and the greens are almost back to excellent shape. Another two weeks and the lakes will be as good as it was before the heavy rains and housing projects. We made a tee time for next week and expect it to be in even better shape. Good work by the staff. Not a hard course, but a fun track, let it fly with the tee shot and then it gets difficult , worth the $$$$. Staff is always friendly. Happy they got back to normal.

While they should be commended on their efforts to save water, it's way to brown. And, the sand is packed hard. Too many choices around here to be in such disrepair and expect much business.

We play here once a month, sad to say the Lakes is in disrepair,we think they will fix all the problems,they are in the process of replacing bridges and several large projects that HAVE to be done, but,, the Lakes front nine greens are slow and slower,the fairways on both sides are bare in toooo many places,the rough is OK, the bunkers are fine, the back nine greens are spotty and birds are tearing them up digging for worms. Fun track when in better shape. Should be back to good condition soon. The members wont let this go on too long, they have a lot of power and theres a lot of them. We will return when all is the way it should be. Staff is the best.

Played sunday 6/26/05 free replay e-mail promotion. Worth the drive from my home about 1hour 10minutes to play 36holes all day.Overall good conditions especially well receptive & medium-fast greens.Only problem was a group ahead of us (2 adults & 2 kids) from the start slow play ,they even wave us at hole #3 par 3.We decided to skip hole #4 and play#5. What a pleasure! There was nobody ahead,wide open. We'll be back.

Played this 18 after playing the Palms as part of the free replay/lunch package. This was a dissapointment after playing the Palms. Besides the greens being sandy/shaggy from being punched earlier in the week, there were a few other issues. Several sand traps were in horrible condition. They aren't set up to handle water correctly. Some still had water in them at 2 pm! Others looked like dry river beds and were hard as concrete. This course is longer and has more holes into the wind than the Palms. The long par 3 (#8) is difficult--how it is handicap #11 I'll never know. The problems on this course seemed to be centered on the newer 9 holes that were added when the course went from 27 to 36. They need to go back and correct their mistakes to get the course on par with the Palms.

This is not a bad course. They send me several email a week to play the course, but the service staff is not all that friendly. Based on the course condition, the time it takes to get there and the surliness of the staff, it will be a long time before we venture out there again.
