This course just came out of winter maintenance, It is ready to play.
The greens are as good as I have ever seen them.
Fairways are near perfect, always a good lie.
Rough is deep and punishing.
My only gripe, Tees were a little torn up, but it had just rained.
My advice, Go out and play.

Played on 11/24/12 and teed off at 10:44am. Pace of play was very slow due to a foursome 2 groups ahead of us who was just spraying their ball all over the place. They were about a hole and half behind the group in front of them which was very frustrating. Complained to the marshall about speeding up their play but it didn't help any as it took almost 6 hours to complete the round. Thankfully we were able to finish a little after 4:30pm before the sun went down.

The course is recovering very well from their recent overseeding and aeration. Tee boxes and fairways were lush. Greens rolled fast and true. Two of the members in my group who found their fair share of shots in the bunker said that they were a bit thin and hard packed. I was in a bunker twice (can't recall which holes) but they were nice and fluffy.

Layout of the course is magnificent. I highly recommend this place as it definitely will test your game, no matter your skill level. If it wasn't for my bad putting, I would have scored in the mid to high 70's but who am I to complain? I was just glad to be able to play this beautiful course. Will definitely come back.

Played last Wednesday 10-24-12.

Fifth time playing OQ this year and it never disappoints.

Quick note: Don't put a course down for its fairways just because it is getting ready to over-seed or has just done so. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT by the golf course (this time of year) to get it into lush conditions for the winter and early spring months!

Fairways: Still green in most parts and very playable, but see my note above. They are over-seeding now and should be back to prime conditions within five to six weeks.

Greens: Lush and playing medium speed and rolled very true.

Bunkers: Not the fluffiest sand, but very playable. Fairway traps are slightly firmer than green side. (A good thing.)

Rough: Thinning out because of the time of year. Some very tall stuff around some of the fairway bunkers.

Tee boxes were all level, but a little on the thin side.

Customer service: Very good and accommodating. Saw cart girl three times and she was very friendly.

Overall: Whenever you get a chance to play here, don't pass it up! The views and green settings are some of the best anywhere!

One of my favorite courses that I play at least 5 times a year, usually closer to 10.

The course is VERY dry right now. A lot of brown and balding ares on the fairways and many areas were very hard to hit off of. Maybe they're letting the grass die in preparation for the overseeding? The greens were lush with no dry patches. Speed was medium to slow with quite a few unrepaired ball marks. It was an afternoon round so pace was pretty bad. Took us 5 1/2 hours to finish. We saw the marshal a few times, but it didn't improve speed at all. There weren't a lot of sand in the bunkers, even the greenside ones.

Customer service was just on par with most public courses, definitely subpar for Oak Quarry standards. They usually offer you a ride from the parking, load your bag onto the cart, and clean your clubs after the round. This time around, there was no one giving ppl rides from the lot, and when we walked up to the cart area, no one offered to take our bags and load them, even though there were like 5 young men standing around. Again, I didn't feel like I was being mistreated, but just not what I'm used to at Oak Quarry.

Over all, I would give it a poor rating in terms of condition, but the views are still magnificent and the track very enjoyable. I look forward to coming back in late November after the course recovers from overseeding.

Played this course for the first time last week and know now why we hear so many good things about it. Very pleasant staff and top notch facility all around. The course was nearly immaculate from tee box to green. Beautiful surroundings with a testing layout. Definitely a shot makers course with more sand traps that most courses I play. For sure to be back before long and will remember the camera this time to record the scenery.

One of my very favorite courses! Played this morning. Staff as usual was outstanding, from the guy that picked up our clubs on the parking lot, to the guy at the desk. Course was in very good shape, tee boxes were in decent shape with minimal divots, fairways were green carpets, on occasional unsanded divots, the bunkers varied from good sand to mix sand/dirt couple were firm. The rough was punishing but not overly brutal. Greens were med fast with a few ball marks (tournament went out about 1/2 hour after we did and we caught up the last group so things slowed up the last 4-5 holes. Managed to finish in just over 4 hrs.

I see there is an alert for aeration coming up at end of month, best to go play it now. Good discount with Birdie Card.

Always one of my very favorite courses! The staff was great as usual, and the overall condition of the course was good, not great, but good! Greenside bunkers were a bit "crusty", otherwise no complaints. Difficult not to enjoy yourself playing this course, and making a 2 on #14 just made it all the sweeter.

Played on 10/1 (hot as hell) AM. Started out as a twosome but got backed up and ended up picking up another twosome. Still finished in 4.5hrs.
The course was in pretty good condition considering the heat. They will be overseeding at the end of this month.
Tee boxes: Felt as if the blues were moved back further than when I played it previously. All were leveled
Fairways: As lush as can be in 100 degree weather. Hardly any brown spots. Very nice. A tad muddy on a couple of the fairways, but otherwise, really nice.
Rough: Not terribly thick and in good condition.
Sand: PRobably the worst part of the course. Hard in the ones that I was in.
Green: They had mowed it pretty low from the last time I played it. Rolling faster than avg. Showing signs of wear and tear from a previous tournament that was played.

Overall, the course was in really good condition.
