the greens were slow slow slow. they left these greens really hairy after punching them some weeks back. (heck maybe even months back) the tee boxes, bunkers, fairways, etc. were in pretty good shape, but the greens were as slower than i see at my local muni courses. again, maybe this has to do with the close proximity time-wise to punching the green, but i doubt it. the greens weren't bumpy at all, just really slow. this course offers some interesting shot choices and offers some interesting risks and rewards. the shot value here is good; bring a solid iron game here.

Well...it's been one whole month since the last feedback was posted about Trilogy (Glen Ivy) on Greenskeeper.org . We figured that perhaps a full month of serious "care and feeding" for the tired old greens at this great track might do it some good... and that just maybe she'd be back to her former glory. So, we got us a 6:17 A.M. time for today (Saturday, May 19th), and headed down I-15.

Good news: Still a great layout. Interesting holes, you need to think your way around this track. The fairways were really nice...lush and green - but - overall - MUCH TOO WET!! Almost soggy in places. Perhaps it was due to the early tee-time, but I don't think so - it was just over-watered! The rough was also lush and not too long - about 1.2 - 2.0 inches average. The bunkers had nice, high quality sand in them, but - again, over-watering made then too muddy and it was like playikng our of wet cement.

The bad news: Yes. You guessed it. The greens are just horrible. SLOW, inconsistent, lumpy, bumpy, jumpy and frumpy. It's just a shame. Spots of poa anna are growing and spreading throughout the original bent grass, making for a different moonscape on every green to be navigated with your putter. I'm not sure if even a good and regular rolling can bring them back. It is sad, because I thing Trilogy could (and should) be one of the finest courses around. I'd love to put this course in my regular rotation....but for $90.00 on the weekend....give me Goose Creek, Hidden Valley, Oak Quarry or Empire Lakes any day.

Be forewarned, fellow GK'ers - the greens are indeed as bad as everybody is saying!!

As stated by many before me, the greens were in poor shape. I can't fure out how some poorly conditioned public courses have better greens than Trilogy. However the farways, rough and tee boxes were in great condition. Traps wre fluffy but some were thin. The layout was great. This course had some interesting holes. The 18th was definietly unique because of the huge drop. We finished in about 4:45. Overall, liked the course and will be back, however it would be a much better course if the greens were in better condition.

My bad...didn't check this website first before making a reservation. Called and asked, "what shape is the golf course in?" and got the standard, "The course is in great shape" Drove out there and played Sat.3/31. and found newly punched greens. Why don't courses realize that lying to the paying public will not turn out well. No discounts on green fee, but since drove over a hour to get there, played anyway.
The super should be replaced. Considering the aeration was 5 days old, the greeens should have been better than they were. The maintenance crew did a very poor job. A few of the greens had machinery scars, like the equipment was dragged over them. Even if given two weeks to heal, these greens will not be puttable, due to the poor job.
OK so the greens were bad, but the bunkers were even worse. For a "high end" course, you'd expect white country club sand, but what you get here at this course was hard, rock filled mud dirt.
Considering what we paid to play, I have some expectations of the level of service, other than the starter, all the staff I encountered were not very service orientated.
Layout was nice, interesting holes, Ted robinson did a great job.
With all the great courses in the area, doubt I'll go back given the conditions and the customer service

I PLAYED THIS COURSE IN 2001 ON THE SECOND WEEK IT OPENED. BEEN BACK ABOUT 11 SINCE THEN. I THOUGHT THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. YES THE GREENS ARE SLOW AND FLUFFY. I PLAYED LIKE CRAP AND SHOT A 77.

I ran a small tournament here on 2-24 and had some mixed feelings on the day. First, the staff was exceptional as always....Scott the GM has done a great job in providing first rate service. Next the course, I found it to be in pretty good shape, although there were some thin spots in some fairways. The greens, only one word can describe them....TERRIBLE!! I understand that we have had some bad weather this year that has affected the conditions of golf courses...but it seems their superintendent has failed in maintaing these greens. Fuzzy, bumpy and very inconsistent rolls on every hole. For a "who cares day of golf"...they would still be bad, but for tournament golf, it was miserable. I wish I would have checked with GK before I booked ours...lesson learned.

The Glen Ivy's Trilogy had the worst greens I have ever played on. I have played on aerated or sanded greens that rolled smoother. Every green the ball bounced and changed directions.
