The guys in the pro shop are the worst. Never in a good mood. Simply went to practice, and the few minutes i was in the pro shop were even unpleasant. They seem like they don't want customers. It's like you're bothering them. I say we boycott this course until they restaff the pro shop with some decent guys. Anyone agree??

Played yesterday. Course is in horrible condition and it cost me at least 6 strokes. Hit 4 tee shots right down the middle that ended up rolling 40 yards right or left and into nasty mud and coot sh$t and behind trees. The rough had stones in it that messed up my clubs. Greens were decent. I will never ever ever play here again. Unacceptable

Distinctly average, "muni" style conditions throughout. Course is kikuya through the green and most of it is dormant so the course looks kind of yellowish and distressed.

Distinctly average, "muni" style conditions throughout. Course is kikuya through the green and most of it is dormant so the course looks kind of yellowish and distressed.

Tees - pretty good with decent grass coverage. Fairways thin, bare in places and uneven clumps of grass here and there. No rough to speak of and it is also thin and bare in spots too. Sand was very good - thick and fluffy throughout. Greens were very like LA county munis - spongy, nappy and unevenly paced with typical bumpiness. Ball does not track well on these things. (interesting side note - 1st green appears to be sodded with a different grass variety than the other 17. It was also the best on the course.....)

Pace of play slowish early on a sunday morning at just under 5 hours.

Not worth the rack rates for the kind of conditions you'll encounter.

After suffering from cabin fever for almost a week, we headed out to Los Serranos Country Club located in Chino Hills, CA. We booked the tee time over the phone which was the same price as what Golfnow.com was offering. $50.00 including GPS cart was not bad considering I really needed to get out onto the course!

Upon arrival, I was surprised to see how many other people also suffered from cabin fever and headed out at the first sign of daylight. We hit a small bucket of range balls, putted for about 15-minutes and headed to the starter. They were actually running a little behind schedule and was about 15-20 minutes behind.

Heading to the 1st tee on the South course, I wasn't surprised that it was cart path only. The amount of rain we had recently was really evident at this course. They even told us the North course had plenty of water still on the surface with drainage problems as well. I don't think the South was any better.

After blocking my drive to the right, my second shot was sitting in a puddle of water and we all agreed ahead of time to "pick, clean and place" the ball if needed. My second shot left me covered in mud and my white shorts were almost ruined. This was definitely a sign for a long day - and I was right. We waited at almost every hole and finished the front nine in a little over three hours. Did I mention the entire course was cart path only?

At the turn, I was debating on calling it the day but I decided to muscle it out because the sun was out and the back nine looked a little dryer. Long story short, the greens were real slow and bumpy. There were plenty of areas on the greens covered in duck poop. The rough was growing out of control. The sand traps were flooded and certain ones were practically hard pan. I started to feel I picked the wrong day to come out to the course.

I decided to give up at the 14th hole and made my way back to the clubhouse. Shoes were muddy, socks were wet, shorts covered in mud splatter and, my new sticks needed a bath. For those desperate to get out onto the course, do yourself a favor and call in ahead of time to see if it's cart path only and to see if there are drainage issues on the course.

I honestly feel this course will be in much better condition by next week. Heck, I just shot a 2-over on the front nine just last week. My ratings for this course this time were indicative of todays conditions.

Overall, I like this place. However, I imagine any and all courses this wet would change anyone's opinion in a heart beat. Enjoy!

Played the South course this morning with a buddy of mine and tee'd off at about 8:00AM. The starter was great in reminding us that there was a large group teeing off after us, so we quickly warmed up and were on our way.

The South course starts off with back to back Par 5's so, scoring is definitely possible if you can just keep your shots straight. Even though the fairways seem wide, you can quickly lose your ball if it starts drifting. Second shots are just as important if you are long and can go for the green. The redo of the green on Hole #1 is great. Pin locations today were good, offering plenty of challenges for those with a steady iron game.

The pace was great. Asides from the large group teeing off behind us, there must have been 2-3 groups ahead of us that went out about an hour prior. We never waited once at any hole.

I had the best front 9 score to date (+2) with a bogey on Hole #1 and #9. The back 9 was a different story - LOL. Nonetheless, the greens rolled really nice with very minimal bumps. There were a few un-repaired ball marks but nothing to really upset you. The bunkers had nice sand that wasn't too hard or too soft. Fairways are in good condition with a nice and tight cut. The ball rolled pretty far after a nice tee shot - I had a few 300+ yards right down the middle.

Even though we didn't see the cart person once, the snack bar was open at the end of Hole #6 with no line. Carts worked well along with their GPS system.

Overall, I had a great time and for $50.00 really can't beat the challenge this course can offer. I plan to keep Los Serranos in my regular rotation of local courses to play out in the Inland Empire area.

Course had work done since I last played much improved with more trees planted and the lakes cleared out the cat tails. If they could just get "some people" to fix their ball marks on the green. I guess its below some people to do this. Was really wet do to watering in fairways, ball had lots of mud on them. Some Sand traps had fresh sand and very fluffy others were almost like raked dirt. All in all much better than the last time I played here.

played today 11/11/10..teed off about 15 minutes early! i guess the winds scared off some people...blowing like crazy out there! easily 40 mph all day! seems like the greenskeeper forgot to go to work today as the tee boxes were more like the rough!! shaggy on all the tee boxes! played jacks black so i guess they were trying to grow the grass out...greens were in good shape..pretty fast but it might have been the winds blowing them dry...fairways and rough were kinda thin! usually at los serranos its kinda lush but i guess they might have finished overseeding a few weeks ago? nice price at only 33 on golf now..good pace finished in about less then 4 hours..will play again

NOT MANY PEOPLE ON THE COURSE TODAY, SO FINISH IN LESS THAN 4 HOURS(2 GROUPS LET US PASS).
