8/27/25 10:12 tee time. Facility's here get a high rating, Pro shop staff and merchandise top shelf. Decent driving range (matts), 3 different putting greens. First class club house and bar, country club type restrooms look like 5* hotel rooms. Good vibe here at Los. $70 for green fees and a medium bucket. Carts nice with new modern GPS. Greens seem smaller here but are soft yet roll consistent and fastish. Traps are forgiving but large and protecting those small targets. Fairways reward with nice lies. Rough, 2-3 inches sometimes difficult lies, especially in tree lines. 4hr.10 min. total play time! Love this place wish it was closer to O.C. A member told me Pro golfer Sahith Theegala sharpened his game here in his youth.

Played South today with a 12:14 tee time using a free round included in my JC Golf Anytime Players Card membership. Even though it's a "free" round, Los Serranos' website charges you $2 when booking, which the pro shop said is non-refundable. Not a huge deal, but it also speaks to the crossed wires of Los Serranos being part of JC Golf but also having their own Players' Club membership. The starter asked if I was ok playing alone and offered to have me start early, but a minute later he added a twosome to play with me. We started at 11:52 with no one in front of us and played the first six holes in about an hour and 10 minutes. Then we caught up to groups ahead and pace for the rest of the day was quite slow, finishing in a little over four and a half hours. My two playing partners bailed at the turn. We all rode and played the white tees. Conditions are good! The greens are somewhat unusual in that they are in very nice condition but deceivingly slow. They are smooth, extremely soft, and slow to medium-slow in speed. Long putts were very difficult to hit hard enough to get to the hole. It's rare to see greens in as nice of condition as these but rolling so slow. Some spots were so soft that it felt like I was sinking into the turf. I suspect they're overwatering in anticipation of higher temps expected later this week -- and summer on the horizon. There were quite a few unfixed ball marks that I repaired, but that's not the course's fault. Also, the fifth green had some bare spots around the front edges. Fairways had good coverage and provided nice lies all day. Rough wasn't too penal, just a bit longer than the fairway. I think I was only in one bunker that was filled with nice, thick, heavy sand. White tee boxes were all good. I've always loved this course and it didn't disappoint today. I'm not sure I'd ever played the white tees, which changed the course pretty significantly in spots. I'll go back to the blues next time, but the other two guys were playing white and I haven't played much lately, so I was fine with white. Definitely recommended, but eat your Wheaties to get those putts to the hole.

Played yesterday. It did get hot towards the end of the round. It is one of the longest courses in California. Greens were nice and rolled true. Shots held if landed on the green. Due to the heat some of the fairways did have some bare spots. They will start aerating/sanding the greens next week as they aerated/sanded the North Side this week.

FYI they are also repaving and painting the parking lot, so half the lot was closed.

Made the decent trek out to Chino Hills to play Los Serranos (south) with a buddy this past weekend and was not disappointed with the decision. We had a relatively early 9:20am tee time and opted to play from the white tees since at 6600 yards it's still all you can handle and with a par 74 and six par 5s you need all the help you can get.

It was a gloomy start to the day but by the back nine the sun came out and it turned into a glorious afternoon. The course is really in pretty darn good shape right now with no major complaints about any aspects of its condition. Greens are in a really nice way right now, holding shots and lines well and being a very consistent medium-fast speed. Nothing gimmicky about these green complexes - get the ball there, make a good putt and you'll be rewarded.

The fairways are green and have very nice coverage, while the rough fluctuates from very playable to quite penal. Bunkers were in nice condition and very playable, while the tee boxes were mostly good but some of the par 3s were in rough shape - most notably the 9th hole which was pretty much just dirt so that was the worst part of any of the course on this day.

The course is hilly and difficult to walk so we opted for carts, but if you're feeling very adventurous then you can hoof it. The snack shop at the highest point of the property is very well set up and will provide everything you need but it comes well before the turn so plan accordingly.

Overall it was a very nice day at Los Serranos and I would highly recommend grabbing a time there right now if you can snag one.

After playing here numerous times this winter I have found the course to be in poor condition due to excessive rain. The fairways are muddy and most likely will not be dry for weeks. Many days have been cart path only and the pace of play even during the week is over 5 hours every round. Marshalls seem either non existent or just drive around. The course needs improvement for the green fee. My suggestion is to play elsewhere until the management gets the message to improve course conditions.

Played here today with 1:41 "Special" tee time for $55 including cart, booked directly on their website a day earlier. Checked in and they said they could move me up one group, so technically I played with a threesome at 1:33 but we didn't tee off until 1:40. Course was busy and we waited all day; total POP almost exactly 5 hours. Hot day but didn't see any beverage cart. Only saw one water jug on the course (14 tee) and it was empty. Ugh. Snack shop between 6 & 7 was open, though. Hole 11 was CPO.

Conditions are pretty good. Greens are probably the highlight: smooth, medium-fast, and quite soft. Full shots stopped very quickly and even well-struck chips could grab. Fairways had mostly good coverage and provided decent lies. Rough seems a little sketchier with clumpier grass and/or weeds, etc. Blue tee boxes were the lowlight - they have good coverage (no bare spots) but most are a mix of inconsistent grasses and many are lumpy and/or uneven. I was in one bunker and it was great.

I've always loved this course but I hadn't been here for almost 3 years. Nice to see they have those "special" deal times on their site. Totally fair price but I wouldn't be happy to pay the full $95 rack rate.

This was a mid week round played a couple of weeks ago. Not much in the way of value at $95.

This was a mid week round played a couple of weeks ago. Not much in the way of value at $95.
TEE BOXES: Generally good condition. I've seen worse but nothing outstanding about them either.
FAIRWAYS: A little on the thin side and wet. Far too many bare spots. I never used to cheat, but I've decided to start moving my ball to grass areas and bumping my lies. Why should I let poor course maintenance ruin my round of golf?
ROUGH: There really isn't any. You are either in the fairway or you have a bad/bare lie in the trees.
CHIPPING/PITCHING AREAS: Like the fairways, far too many bare spots.
GREENS: They've always had nice greens. They were in good shape with the exception of a few blemishes here and there.
BUNKERS: Although it appeared that there had been no maintenance done in several days, it was a pleasant surprise to see that the bunkers actually contained sand. A rare occurance these days in Southern California.
PACE OF PLAY: The reservation receipt said the expected pace of play was 4 hours and 40 minutes. We did a lot of waiting around and were over 5 hours. Anyone that teed off 20 minutes later than us probably played a few holes in the dark. Never once saw a marshall.
SNACK BAR: I had some of that government issued currency in my wallet that says "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private". Los Serranos doesn't really care because they are like the airlines and don't accept cash which leads to another issue. I paid $12.50 for a hotdog and a soda. That seemed a little steep and after thinking about it for a while, I realized that she never showed me the touchscreen used for the credit card transaction or gave me the receipt. This made me wonder if she also added her own unauthorized tip. I guess I'll never know. If I ever decide to return to this golf course, I think that I'll just skip the snack bar.

Played yesterday with a POP of 4.5 hours. Front nine was slow due to a group playing from the wrong tees. Finally started moving after the Player Assistant spoke to them. Greens have healed nicely since being aerated. Greens were med/fast. Players need to fix their divots, as I had to repair at least 3 divots on each green. The rest of the course conditions are typical of summer conditions. Still can't figure out why #11 is still cart path only. Traps still compacted dirt.

Played at Los Serranos this past weekend with my monthly golf group, which also coincided with my first round in a few weeks after dealing with some medical issues, so I'm not sure that a near 7000 yard course from the whites was the best idea, but still managed to get around, albeit a bit exhausted after 18.

A massive amount of people had apparently canceled due to the threat of inclement weather this past Saturday, but we actually found it humid and pleasant throughout the day, with only the shortest bursts of drizzle that never turned into any significant precipitation. The mass exodus meant our three groups pretty much had a straight shot from start to finish and what could have been a disastrous POP turned out to be pretty great, although even with that and the good conditions, the $90 greens fee is definitely on the pointy end for this course.

Speaking of conditions, yes, they were quite good all things considered. I found the greens to be really fun and in good shape, running medium fast and holding shots quite well, especially after the previous night's rain, but they dried up well. Some of the bunkers had some standing water still, but the ones I found myself in weren't too bad at all. Tee boxes (white tees) were in pretty good shape but shaggy in some places.

Fairways had pretty good coverage throughout the course so not too much to complain about there, but of course a few areas near the greens were quite thin (and still muddy) making for some very difficult chips onto the greens. Rough was of varied length but usually quite playable.

Was happy the snack shop at the top of the hill (6th hole tee box for the south course) was open for business, but no cart service anywhere else all day. Carts are pretty basic but do have a rudimentary GPS system.

It was very fun though to get out again and I always enjoy this layout with its unique par 74 setup and so many par 5s. I've mostly played this course in tournament/shotgun/best ball settings, so playing it as a regular round is always fun and entertaining.
