Played Friday 6/12 with the GK crew teeing off around 12:30. Arrowood is one of my favorite courses in San Diego county and it seems like they are just getting better and better. The course is probably in the best condition I have ever seen it, and that's saying something since they always have pretty high standards when it comes to conditioning.

I'll piggyback a bit on Johnny's review regarding what the team at Arrowood is doing to create a fun, relaxed and engaging atmosphere. Even in these interesting times they've gone ahead and re-did the snack bar into a really cool restaurant/bar area (will be great when it's fully operational again). They have some music playing around the clubhouse and practice areas which I always like and the staff is always super welcoming. After the round they had a farmers market-type thing going on, which I've never seen before and thought was really awesome. They've kind of realized that the whole community around there was lacking a main hub and they've created that at Arrowood. It's really a fun place to hang out.

As for the course itself, you get a really diverse variety of holes at Arrowood. I think the one knock I've always had is that the par 3s tend to be a bit similar to each other, but what they do (or at least did on Friday) is space out the tee markers across the entire tee box, literally giving about 20-30 yards width on some holes, which was kind of fun. You could really change the angles of attack and I think that's beneficial to all golfers, offering them perspective that can fit their eye a bit better.

The sign at the front said the greens were stimping at 10 and that seemed right. Definitely really healthy greens that held great but still rolled smooth. Fairways are tight and firm but no problem at all taking nice divots. Absolutely LOVE fairways like this. I actually don't know what the rough was like as I either hit my drives in the fairway or out of bounds :) But it looked pretty good.

All in all I can't say enough good things about Arrowood. They have some good loyalty programs and it seems every time I go out there they keep getting better and better at what they're doing. Highly recommend anytime! Go play!

This review is 10 years in the making. I’m serious. It’s been that long reading great review after great review on Greenskeeper.org yet somehow never finding the right opportunity to play Arrowood. Well it did not get much better than yesterday Friday 6/12 teeing up with GKers gary00, mpisarski01 and AndrewZ28. Good times was an understatement.

Arrowood Golf Course actually exceeded my expectations from an overall golf experience. I knew the golf course would be in excellent shape and a blast to play. However the atmosphere there is all about FUN. The place does not miss a beat there. From the relaxing Sinatra tunes on the range/putting greens to the live band Friday afternoon community fair on the patio afterwards. Super friendly staff and good vibes from everyone. What is it with Oceanside? First Goat Hill with its cool unique vibe and now this place. Nailing it.

Conditions, outstanding. Greens smooth poa, holding shots and running medium speed. They used the pool noddle for COVID-19 precautions with ample room for the ball to drop. Fairways, practically perfect with only a few blemishes. Little firm (which I like), great lies and green. Rough, after playing Ridge Creek Dinuba Wednesday and then this place I was like “What Rough?” – LOL, but its there, lush, about 3 inches high and can be grabby at times. Tee boxes level lush and interesting as gary00 noted, the markers were set from edge to edge of the tee box providing a wide nice selection of spots to hit from. Really liked that. Bunkers, COVID-19 no rakes but still maintained well. You can see they are in the middle of replenishing sand beginning with the greenside bunkers.

I will be back here to play sooner than later. Loved this place.

6/12 meet up for GK match with Johnny joined by Matt and Andrew for a rollicking good time. Thank you to the GM Tom for the invite. Pretty comfortable 415 POP which for some reason felt slower on the back but nice day nice course and entertaining companions so no complaints.
Friendly welcome from all staff. Course is almost back to pre-covid status with rake-less bunkers and no drinking water on the course as the last reminders.
Fairways are in almost goldylocks condition firm enough for some extra roll while still providing good cushion. Ideal for iron shots but often challenging for fairway metals. Staff has been making the rounds filling divots as carts had been sans bottles until today.
Rough along fairways acts mostly as an impediment to forward progress while being playable for shots. However areas further away especially on the hillsides and behind and off to the sides of the greens can often be longer more wirery and challenging.
Did not myself find any bunkers but by observation most have soft thick deep sand that retains footprints. We played smooth and place but still the condition often kept the ball in some awkward areas of the traps.
Tees lush and level with the markers often covering the full width of the tee box.
Greens mostly receptive to well struck shots while being firm enough to allow the chips to roll out nicely. Rolling consistently at medium fast speed, mostly smooth with a few un-repaired ball marks Greens are on the larger side with slope contour and topography to consider. Really enjoy the 6 zones for pin placement which increases the entertainment value.
Good layout and even with houses nearby there is a remote feel to the course as there is an abundance of natural habitat.

Ventured out to Arrowood today with AndrewZ28, Johnny Gk, and Gary00. After reading Gary and Dave's reviews I was excited to head back out to this course. The course is in fantastic shape right now. The fairways and greens being the highlights of the day. The greens were semi soft and held most shots even allowing some spin. Fairways had great coverage and offered more than plenty roll out. This also lead to some trouble if you were not piped down the center. Rough was also in good shape maybe 1-3 inches max and not too hard to get out of. Strange thing with the tee boxes were that the markers on the Par 3's had a width of around 50' talk about pick your angle :), The sand traps I found were a mess without rakes. Also they could use some tilling to make them softer. I overheard Johnny say that they are currently fixing the traps so mabye that wont be an issue for long. Carts are nice and new and include a very nice GPS unfortunately mine was having major issues and they were out of carts so I had to use my laser. #firstworldproblems

Met GKer gary00 at one of my favorite SoCal venues for a Cup 15 match, joined by GKer rat-patrol also playing Gary. Other reviews spot on with good course conditions coming out of the lockdown. Good lies in fairways, greens receptive and rolling well, but wish we could do something about the traps. Often wet, or ungroomed, or devastated by footprints. We played ‘smooth and place’ in the traps (course also suggested GUR), so no problem, but golf is hazards and hopefully this will be addressed soon. Fun round in great weather with great company; $40 at noon weekday incl. cart is a great deal for this course.

Fairways firming up but still with cushion. On the tight side for metals and even hybrids--keeps your attention for sure. Rough more of a factor on the side hills and slopes around the greens. Tees good for the most part.
Greens can present a challenge with the slope and contours making it especially difficult if short sided. Firm but holding well struck approaches with a high trajectory.
Good golfer friendly customer service.

Played at noon GK Cup match with Gary00 and DCon. Range still closed chipping and putting greens open but no holes cut. Overall conditions were very good. Tees: level with good grass coverage Fairways: mostly good roll out, some wet spots, good coverage with just a few spots that had replaced turf creases. Rough: made you think how it would come out, but very playable, penal but not stifling Bunkers: no rakes so we played smooth the spot out and place it, I never had to always had good lies the 3 or 4 times I was in there Greens: running rather well, some ball marks, some slow spots, some fast spots, tricky around the hole Customer service: was excellent, we had to wait for carts as we all had our own, but they were cleaned and ready to go quickly, cheers to the cart staff! *Note: I would have liked to seen the rating a bit higher, at least in the 7.2 to 7.5 range or higher!

Played on Saturday, 5/16 at 10:40. Played with my son and a friend, and joined by a single. Finished in about 4:15, very little waiting. Pre-paid online, so easy check in outside the pro shop. Masks required in common areas. One person at a time in pro shop, food service, etc. Carts available when we teed off, one per cart unless family, so my son and I shared a cart.
This was my second time ever playing here, and conditions are fantastic. Clean tee boxes, great coverage in the fairway, and rough is thick in places but playable. Greens were soft, medium speed, sign said running 10 on stimp. Traps, of course, are a mixed bag. Seems a lot of people can't be bothered to smooth out their divots and footprints.
First round since January, so a little apprehensive about the the covid precautions and protocols. Wasn't as awkward as I expected. Didn't mind leaving the flag in except for the few times the wind was really up, but given the alternative I was just happy to be out playing.
Staff was very friendly, marshall around a few times. Saw the beverage cart twice.
All in all a great day. Happy to get my son out after 2 years of not playing, traffic from south OC to course was light, pace of play was great, and the course is in fantastic shape and a lot of fun. I'll be back soon - think I'll buy the Palm card to get better rates next time.

Finally got to play here 5/14 (since the reopening) and I was not disappointed.
Some social distancing items:
-arrive no more than 30 minutes before your T time, must wear a face mask, carts available if over 55, one rider per cart, snack bar is open (great breakfast burrito), no driving range, no trap rakes, no holes on the practice putting green.

The course is in the best shape that I have experienced over the past few years!
Greens; smooth holding and medium to fast speed.
Fairways: firm but more body (grass) then normal.
Traps: GUR
Rough: 1-3" high, very playable.
POP:at 4 hours.

As usual, great customer service. RECOMMEND!
