First off twilight (12:30) finished just before 5. Course is in fine condition and POP was good.
Tees: small like always, a little beat up in spots but plenty playable
Fairways: very nice, a bit of roll out, great surface to hit from
Rough: a bit scarce, but I wasn't too far off the fairways today
Bunkers: very nice, manicured and full of good to play from sand
Greens: very nice, took shots well, rolled well, a bit slow IMHO, but the last three courses I played were all fast Golf Club of CA, Torrey South, Torrey North . . . so maybe about medium speed, but smooth and true
POP: was good at 4:20
Customer service: fine
Walkability: I walked with my push cart, some hills, but in this weather it was an easy walk

Played Saturday, walked on as a single and got paired up with 3 great guys from my alma mater, UCSD. POP was about 5hrs, half hour wait on number 6, whatta joke, there's like 3 groups on that tee everytime now. Something needs to be done about that.

Course was in pretty good shape overall. Teeboxes were nice and level with good coverage, never had an issue finding a good spot. Fairways were pretty good in proper landing areas, but apart from the landing areas, they were somewhat bare with some brown spots, they've been in better condition, but I generally had good lies. They had som good roll, too. Greens were in good shape, held shots well and putted pretty true. They weren't perfect, but definitely acceptable. Found one trap and it was just fine, no problem. Rough wasn't too penal.

Can't complain too much about the conditions, very playable and had a good time.

Played Balboa yesterday with Sal for our GK Cup match. Only my second time playing here and had a great time. Course is in good shape. Pretty green throughout and the greens are very fast.

Played Balboa yesterday with Sal for our GK Cup match. Only my second time playing here and had a great time. Course is in good shape. Pretty green throughout and the greens are very fast.

Tee boxes were ok. Some were not level and compacted. Fairways were mostly good. Some brown here and there but we haven’t had any rain so you kinda of have to expect it. The sand was great. I was in a couple of bunkers and was able to get out pretty easily.

Greens are the highlight of the course. They were fast, hard and smooth. You need to stay below the hole on the course or you can forget par.

The course is short but does play a lot harder than its yardage. You need to stay on the fairway to have any chance at a good score. If you can find a good deal or live in the city of San Diego I would recommend playing.

Played today, Saturday. Course is in good overall condition. Walked on as a single, Chris in the pro shop was very helpful. POP was pretty crappy. 5 hrs. 3 groups on 6 teebox was awful. Oh well, what do you expect for a muni on a beautiful Saturday. Other than the wait on 6 and 10, it wasn't too bad. We literally waited on 6 for 30mins, waited on 10 for 15mins and waited on 17 for 15mins. So other than that, it was smooth.

Teeboxes were just fine. Some divot damage, but always level and able to find a good place to tee it up. Fairways were in pretty good shape. The landing areas were in better shape than the short/long/inbetween areas. I never had any problem in the fairway. Rough was pretty brutal, long and lush. stay out of the rough. I was in one bunker and it was just fine. Greens were great, held shots well and putted very true and quick.

Go ahead and get on out there. I think this track is awesome. Great layout and pretty darn challenging. so many killer holes, 10, 14,16 are just killer

Been awhile since playing here and I was pleased to find the course in good shape, greens were excellent. Of course I made just about everything I saw, 26 putts, so I'm biased, but they were rolling well, medium speed, a bit firm but excepting of well struck shots. Bunkers full of soft white sand, fairways nice, rough minimal but there, tee boxes mostly level (except #8 Blue). Worth the greens fee, go play it!

First off at twilight . . . it's amateur hour with the holidays and the weather so nice so waited on about every shot. POP only 4 1/2 hours but seemed like 6. Greens are really fast right now, the rest of the course is in good to very good shape, with the bunkers being better than most courses I've played lately.

Played twice last week while the site was down at the friendly confines. The course is in great shape right now, but maintenance is scheduled for next week . . . so get out there this weekend!

Played twice last week while the site was down at the friendly confines. The course is in great shape right now, but maintenance is scheduled for next week . . . so get out there this weekend!
Tees: good shape, a bit tattered in places as the tee areas are small (the course was built in 1927) but flat, mostly
Fairways: the places you are supposed to be playing from are in great shape although off the beaten path has some areas the heat has gotten to
Rough: thick and sticky, hard to gauge your shots from and again off the beaten path gets a bit rougher
Bunkers: many have been filled with nice, soft, white sand around the greens, the fairway bunkers remain thin, but smooth and very playable
Greens: great shape, rolling med fast and well, accepting well struck balls and some spin back
POP: just over 4 hours both times with our group basically setting our own pace
Customer service: fine for a muni, great 19th hole, halfway house, they now also have a snack cart (yes Andrew, with beer and other drinks) and everyone you talk to is friendly
