Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Played this morning in terrible fog. First 8 holes were a guessing game on where to aim. The greens were a little slow and bumpy at spots. Fairways and rough were more than acceptable. The tee boxes were hit or miss.
Got a deal on GolfNow. Price is too much for this course. The greens, fairway, and tee boxes were in good to great shape. No complaint there. The sand traps were some of the worse I have seen. Grass is growing out of them in many places. The design is a little short. Lots of 4 irons 210 tee shots to a large dog leg. Two of the par 5's have no chance for going for it. Overall the course is needs some attention and if the tee boxes could be moved back on a few holes, this would be as good as the other courses in the area.
Played 2nd time ever here. Played in 2.5 hours, by myself. The course is still in great shape. Only one green that had a bad case of something, may be someone destroyed it on purpose. The tee boxes are in great shape. You have to stay in the fairway, the rough is usually dirt, but that is the same for Pinehurst.
Heard a lot about the local joint called Goat Hill. I didn't attend Harvard, but I blew past the name and decided to walk the course. I will never do that again. It was a workout. Overall, the course is great! The greens were just as good as the new ones at Torrey Pines North. The fairways are in good shape. The course is challenging due to have to play a few trees and doglegs. Fun course and I recommend it. If your first time, tell the clubhouse, they have a card with local tips for each hole that really helped. I will always support a Muni, especially when the greens are in that good shape.
Played on Friday (July 22, 2016). This was by far the best condition I have seen Riverwalk. Played the Pres/Miss pair. The greens were a huge increase of condition since last playing there. Good course and not many better locations. Fairways were in good shape. The only thing I could say bad about the course would be the fairway bunkers were wet and compact. They need to be rake more often.
First time playing here. Really disappointed. Johnny Miller's idea of fun is a sick and twisted definition. Too much high risk for little if no reward. Fairway bunkers are too fluffy. They need to be redone and many can be removed. Greens were slow. No easy holes. Will play it again, but not my favorite.
