I have been playing Eagle Crest on a semi regular basis for a couple of years now. The improvement of this course is remarkable. That said, it still has a long way to go. A year ago, you would be hard pressed to find any grass in the fairways, now there is decent coverage on most of the holes. Greens have also greatly improved, although this morning they were much slower than usual. Bunkers are awful. Not maintained and in almost every case - soaked ! The tee boxes are the worst part of the course. Difficult, if not impossible to find a level lie on many of them.

I play here for a number of reasons; the staff (Rocky & Taro ) is wonderful. Friendly, accommodating and just a pleasure to deal with. Pricing is excellent using vouchers on line. Plus the track is interesting. Not redundant at all. Nice mix of holes, providing enough challenge without being overly penal. My only complaint is geography. It's over 70 miles from home, and when you have a super early tee time, you have to get up rather early to get there by 5:30am

6/21 ideal weather and 330 POP started behind a 2some that looked like they were going to be rather slow but after 1st hole they were a distant memory. 3 some behind was not seen again after they pulled up on the 1st tee. Fairways had some good areas and other areas that are going to need more attention. Talked to greenskeeper on 7 who reported that a well on the back was out but should return to service shortly which will help improve conditions. Still had mostly good/ok lies with a few being tight and firm. Rough is spotty some longer grass, some weeds and some bare dirt with evidence of burrowing animals. Tees thin and often battered. Bunkers were often wet groomed but overly firm.
Greens have good cover look to be healthy with dense cover some mixed varieties of growth. Looks like they are keeping them on the longer side in anticipation of heat wave. Speed medium and generally consistent thru the round.
Again friendly check in. New carts no GPS but app available driving range and really big practice green a little faster than on course conditions.

In large part, one of the reasons I play here is because of the staff. They are always super accommodating and customer oriented. Both Taro & Rocky make coming here so much less stressful, particularly for those of us who wish to get out first thing in the morning.

While there is still a long way to go, I see vast improvements in the condition of the course, even from my last round a couple months ago. Many of the fairways actually have decent coverage now. (Still lots of bare areas however) The greens rolled very nicely, but were so slow. Much slower than they looked ! Bunkers were all soaked, but were well raked and much improved. (Please bring rakes back !) My biggest complaint was some of the tee boxes were so uneven, it was a struggle to find anything level at times.

Nice to see the improvement to the course conditions. I always enjoy playing here, and with conditions on the upswing, I will be back sooner than later.

5/10 teed off at 830 as a 3some with no waiting and no one following leisurely 350 POP with some delays for wayward golf balls. Nice morning overcast for front 9 and sunny for back but with a little breeze to stay comfortable. Like weber said interesting layout and a work in progress. Found the fairways to be about 50/50 with some really good lies but then could have really thin area 3 feet away. Rough was generally clumpy so the ball could be down in front of a thick patch or buried in the juicy stuff--better to avoid it but wasn't always that straight.
Tees need work often sloped and either needing a good mow or really thin and sanded.
Bunkers newly groomed but many wet even to the point of standing water. Sand is a pretty decent consistency and is playable--found 8 greenside traps made 2 saves and took 3 to get out of 1. Can't blame the sand for lack of execution overall.
Greens are about 80% of where they were when we played the week before punching. Rolled about medium speed somewhat bumpy at times and seemed to be more influenced by the grain as putts often had a late break and of course away from the hole.
Basic carts no GPS, driving range3 with mats and a large practice green that was more healed than those on the course.
Friendly staff. Taro Thomas the GM was the GM at Shorecliffs and after we played last time he met with us and shred about the changes and the plans as the course is now managed by a Troon affiliate and while he was at it offered a comp round which we used today.
While we were there also looked at the senior special $2F and was also told about a punch card $159 for 7 plays with the ability to share the card with multiple players.
Looking forward to playing here more often and even with the hour plus drive it will be acourse that will be in our rotation.

I know that when I play Eagle Crest that conditions will be less than ideal. However, I really enjoy the "bones" of this course and the staff is fantastic about getting us out early, so I tolerate the conditions. Generally the greens are good here, but they have not yet healed from the recent aeration, so they were slow and bumpy. I can say that as bad as the fairways were, they are better than the last time I played. Much more coverage and less bare areas. The greenside bunkers had plenty of sand, but it was not raked and in most cases, totally soaked.

The tee boxes were in desperate need of mowing. It was like teeing your ball in the rough. Despite the conditions, I enjoyed the round and nice to get out and around quickly, although we did have a lot of maintenance to contend with this morning.

Only found 4 fairways and those were 50/50 with some thin areas and then patches of ok cover. Rough was quite a variable as some areas in close proximity to the fairway was rather short looking like longer version of fairway and some areas had more of a weedy influence. Beyond that there were often squirrel digs and then some areas even further afield had some distant relative of the Scottish gorse being over a foot deep.
Tees were playable but mostly thin. Bunkers varied from ok with adequate sand to hard pack and difficult.
Greens had significant poa influence with some grain and break as the ball lost speed. Rolling about medium speed with the occasional bumpy factor.
Very friendly staff. Interesting layout with good variety of holes. Conditions are on the upswing with more improvement on the horizon. Was worth the $26 fee using under par.

Another early pre-dawn start at Eagle Crest. A very busy day as I heard that every tee had been sold, which makes teeing off in the cold/dark, worth it to avoid a 4+ hour round. (We finished in 2 hours 20 minutes)

The greens are the best part of the course, and in all honesty, they weren't as good as usual. A number of bare spots, which typically were not there. Fairways, particularly on the first three holes were awful, almost zero grass. They did improve as the round progressed. Bunkers could have been decent, but they were very wet from overnight sprinklers. Rough was poor, at best.

I really enjoy this course. It is a wonderful fun track, and the staff is fantastic. Conditions are simply poor. There is so much potential here if someone had the foresight and $$.

First out in the dark at 6am. Very busy this morning - lots of golfers ! Now I would begin by saying a like Eagle Crest. I like the layout, the people in the shop are fantastic, the price using underpar/clickit is great, BUT I have to be honest and say the golf course is NOT in good condition, and that's being kind.

The greens in all fairness are far and away the best part of the course. They are decent. The rest of the course is just grim. Fairways are part grass and large part dirt. Rough, let's just say it is poor. Greenside bunkers do not even have a pretense of being maintained. Tee boxes are bare, not level, and have lots of divots.

However as bad as conditions are, and they are bad. I still had a good time and will probably return sooner than later. I have no common sense !

Out early on a mild overcast morning. One of the reasons I enjoy coming here is the staff. Taro in pro shop is a joy to deal with. Always friendly, accommodating, and opens early, unlike too many other courses.

Course condition leaves a lot to be desired. I can say they "are trying", but there is long way to go. The greens are the highlight of the course. Green surrounds are also much improved from when I last played here. The fairways are pretty much gone. Almost impossible to find a decent lie - same with the rough. Not to want of water, because we had sprinklers on almost every hole, but it's hard to grow dirt. Bunkers were all flooded, but did have sand under all that water.

I really enjoy the layout, and I over look the condition because of that, and with the staff being so wonderful, great pricing, I do seem to return, but it sure would be nice if this course could return to the condition it once enjoyed.
