Out early to beat the forecast heat. Rocky in the pro shop is wonderful and makes coming here just all that much better. Very accommodating and efficient. Having a positive beginning is a plus even before starting your round.

Sadly, the course conditions have not improved, in fact I think perhaps they have even deteriorated further. The greens, while far and away are the best part of the course, were slow, because none were even mowed. Fairways have some areas of green grass, but mostly bare, thin, uneven ground. The bunkers have pretty much been abandoned, with most having ground under repair signs in them. Tee boxes are not level, to the point where it is difficult at times to find a decent place to stand. Coupled with bare spots and loads of divots, makes for a challenge to find any place to put your peg in the ground.

I really enjoy this course. I think the layout is terrific, but with the conditions being what they are, it just makes me sad, because I fear that this course may not have long to remain.

First out on a mild morning. Not very busy, which was nice. Rocky in the pro shop is always great to deal with and makes coming here all that much more enjoyable. Wish more golf shop personal were more like him. I have always liked this track, and despite the questionable condition, I keep coming back. Conditions today were simply not good. The greens still have not yet recovered from the aeration, so were slow and bumpy. Fairways had lots of bare areas, thin areas, thick spots, etc. Same with the rough. You never knew what you'd get. Tee boxes were awful. Greenside bunkers were in many cases "small lakes". Those that were not filled with water had plenty on sand but appear not to have been raked since ....... forever. I see so much potential in this course if someone would spend the $$ to restore it to where it once was. However, if that happened, I'm sure it would become super crowded and over priced, so be careful what you wish for

Played 3-20-22 12:30. Course was pretty rough all around. Fairway grass was green, but patchy with many bare spots around. Rough was a very mixed bag from dirt to tall weeds.
Greens were in decent shape. Had very good coverage and receptive. Ran at about medium slow, but very bumpy from the seeding Poana. Traps were weed filled hard pan depressions. Tees were very chewed up and mostly uneven. Pace was a little above 4 hrs. Per usual the greens were the best part of the course. The rest was the worst I've ever seen it. It is still very playable and a good track. It often improves as spring rolls around and the grass grows a little better. If you can find a good deal, you can still have fun. A tough recommend at this time.

Since I play almost all my golf first thing in the morning, I am accustomed to playing in the cold during this time of year, but this morning it was 33 degrees. Now that's just too cold even for me. Aside from the fact that the ball goes NOWHERE at those temperatures, it's just really difficult to get even a little loose at those temps. The greens were very slow (They did not mow the greens ) but they were very wet, so I suspect they watered them to save them from frost? Portions of the fairways had nice coverage, but still a lot of thin and bare areas. Rough was inconsistent. Bunkers were a mix of unmaintained sand or thin. Tee boxes were not good. All that said, I enjoy playing here because I can usually get out early, the price is right, the staff is excellent, particularly Rocky, and most important I think the "bones" of the course are wonderful. This course could be oh so good if it were in great condition, but until then I'll continue to patronize it for the reasons previously mentioned.

First out at 6am on a very cold (38 degrees) morning. They had put a lot of water on the course, so everything was really wet. Still bare areas in the fairways. Rough ranged from thin to US Open thick, just depended where the ball finished. Almost every tee box needed to be leveled. The greens were far and away the best part of the course. While they rolled well and were very receptive, they were much slower than usual.

The staff here is always fantastic. Rocky was on duty this morning and he is a pleasure to deal with. I play this course because I love the layout. If it were based only on course condition, I would pass, but the "bones" of the course are so good, I force myself to overlook the questionable conditions.

Tough review to write because I really like this course and the entire staff is outstanding. However I have seen a steady decline in condition over the past several months. I spoke with the staff and understand they are having issues with getting enough people to maintain the course. That coupled with budget issues makes for a difficult situation. They do a darn good job considering what resources they have to work with.

Greens are the best part of the course, although they were too slow for my taste. Some of fairways are OK, but many are just simply in poor shape. Hard to find a level tee box. Bunkers could be good, if they had the personal to maintain them.

I just hope that somehow this course can stay solvent and remain open, I really enjoy the layout and the people there are wonderful. I will continue to play here despite the substandard conditions if only for those reasons alone, but it's difficult to recommend at this time.

Previous reviews mentioned the course problems but I think it is a disaster.

Price is pretty cheap and since the course condtion is so bad the pace of play was good since nobody wants to play it.

This used to be a nice course. Wonder what happened. Maybe no water access because of the drought. That would explain all the dry spots but not the hard packed bunkers and areas of out of control rough.

Would be surprised to see it open another year unless something changes with the course conditions.

Back out early at Eagle Crest. Course conditions have remained fairly consistent, which is not necessarily a good thing. Greens are by far the best part of the course. (They appear to be losing #14 however) Very receptive, rolled decently, but I guess because we were in front of maintenance, the uncut greens were too slow for my taste. Still lots of bare areas in the fairways and rough. Many tee boxes not level with bare spots. Bunkers were a mix of over watered muddy bunkers, thin hardpan, or unraked sand. All that said, I still enjoy playing this course because the basic layout is fun and not redundant. I tolerate the conditions because I like the holes, the staff is always great and the price is right.

First off early Monday on a mild, overcast morning. Rocky, in the pro shop is a joy to deal with. Always there early to open and is friendly and accommodating. Not too busy - just the "regulars". Played in a nice 2 1/2 pace with no maintenance to deal with today, which was appreciated. However, since none of the greens had yet been mowed, they were much slower than usual. They also really need to be rolled.

Fairways are improving. Tee boxes also need some attention, but it was the greenside bunkers which were the worst part of the course. Flooded and soaked, would be a kind description. I think they had sand, but it was so wet/compacted, difficult to tell.

Enjoy playing this course because the track is so interesting. I will admit that conditioning remains an issue, but the combination of the layout, great staff, and value keeps me coming back.
