Played here on Tuesday AM, 3/21. Greens: best part of the course; smooth greens, medium to firm hardness and medium to fast speed. Looks like they will be aerating the greens the first week of April so check before you book your T time. Fairways: improving with the warmer weather, still too many unfilled divots. Tees: many are uneven because of animal burrows. Rough: TERRIBLE; weeds, hardpan and animal mounds. Traps: many have not been raked by the golfers but otherwise playable. Good grass driving range. POP: just over 4 1/2 hours, no marshal to keep play moving. Last of the storm damage, 5-6 large trees, being cleaned up. Not bad for a Muni especially if you are a resident of Oceanside.

The front nine was closed last week and the entire course is now open, cart path only. Only a few of the fairways had wet spots. All the standing water is off the fairways. Some of the traps still have some muddy areas. There are 6 or 7 downed trees. The greens are in good condition. The rough is terrible; high grass, animal mounds and weeds. A week of sunny days like today will bring the course back to a decent condition except for the rough, nothing will help that!

Played here on Dec 27th in the AM. Greens: smooth, "holding" and medium to fast speed, best part of the golf course. Fairway: you get a decent lie most of the time on the dormant fairways but lots of divots. Rough: TERRIBLE, animal holes and mounds of dirt, weeds, lots of bare spots, almost unplayable. The decomposed granite does significant damage to your clubs. Tees: Many are uneven from the animal tunnels. Traps: fair, many have very little sand. Good grass driving range unless they have the mats out which is once a week. I get the resident senior rate which is OK. Wouldn't pay any more for this course.

I play here once every couple of years and now that the dead areas have been replaces with gravel areas it seems much better. The layout has always been tougher than the yardage because the course has so many doglegs. The pace of play was decent and the staff are very nice. This still isnt an impressive course BUT its flat for the most part so its good for old guys and the price is right on the weekends. Stay below the pins and enjoy a decent round at a good price, we will be back sooner than later.

After finishing Morgan Run, called Oceanside to see how busy they were and was told "not busy at all" I arrived there at 11:30 and was told I could go right to the tee. I played two balls to slow my pace, caught a twosome in a cart on #5 and played behind them a nice easy pace. Because there were groups in front of them, no advantage to try to play through. Finished in exactly 3 hours, which isn't two bad. Sure helped that I played two balls

The greens were good, not great, but rolled well and had decent speed. Fairways were generally decent. I was in two bunkers and both were well groomed and had plenty of sand. The rough, what there was of it, was horrible. I am also not a fan of the areas which they removed turf, which was now covered with gravel. (Which is hell on the clubs) plus it does not look all that great.

I have always liked this course, and had a great time playing in fantastic weather. (Ya gotta love Southern California)

Greens have "healed" nicely, smooth, holding and medium to fast.

Fairways: best I've seen there in a long time.

Traps: most have sand and were racked.

Rough: TERRIBLE, dirt, weeds and animal tunnels and mounds. The turf reduction program put in decomposed granite too close to the fairways and will cause damage to your clubs. Much of the wood chips are gone.

POP: under 4 hours

Grass driving range.

Good deal for city senior residents at $30 with a cart.

I confirmed with the Pro shop that the greens will be aerated starting on Oct. 3rd. Course is in good condition Tee to green, great time to get out and play.

seems like sand was recently added in bunkers, pretty fluffy.

Greens were VERY receptive to shots.

Course is starting to grow on me and for $42 with cart, it is a pretty reasonable round of golf.

bad for the handicap as the 119 slow from the whites is VERY low for this course.
