First out on a very cold morning. I checked the internet for weather before I left and it was supposed to be 51 degrees, but when I teed off just prior to 6am, there was frost everywhere. Carts on carts on path until 8 o'clock. (I walked so no impact for me) Sam, in the pro shop said it much colder yesterday.

Greens rolled well and had decent speed. Fairways were frozen. Many more bare areas rhan when I last played here in September. Bunkers were well maintained, which was good, because I found a bunch of them.

Always enjoy playing this course, but this morning was a bit too cold for these old bones. Never did get loose. Otherwise a beautiful clear morning, on a fun golf course.

Knowing they will be punching greens beginning Tuesday 10/4, wanted to get out before then. I was permitted to get out first, but it was conditional that I started prior to 6am, which meant it was pitch black outside. There are a group of guys who always tee off right at 6am, using glo-balls, so I was obligated to tee off before them, which was not a problem, except for the fact I could not see any shot until the fourth hole.

The greens were very good. Rolled true, decent speed and very receptive. Some of the fairways were great, and some were just awful. Bunkers had plenty of sand but were soaked from the overnight sprinklers. Many tee boxes were not level and had a lot of divot damage and bare spots.

Sam, in the pro shop is great to deal with, and is one of the reasons I frequent this course. I very much enjoy the course, so I tolerate the inconsistent conditions, and the times when I have to begin in the dark. Life is a tradeoff, so I accept these as part of the condition to play here early

First out on a very humid morning. Since last playing here in June, the fairways have greatly improved. Admittedly there are still bare areas, but where the grass has grown in , it's really rather nice and lush. Greens were very nice, rolled true and reasonably quick. Rough/tee boxes still need attention, but playable.

Sam in the pro shop is wonderful. Always a pleasure to deal with - a nice way to begin the day with a positive encounter. Enjoy playing Oceanside. Fun, interesting course with a lot of personality.

First out on a mild overcast morning. My initial impression was how much better the fairways were from just a month ago. Greens also rolled better and were quicker. Bunkers were a mixed bag. Some very thin, some over watered and soaked, but with sand. Rough here is never good, in part because there isn't a lot of it. Tee boxes need attention.

Staff is always fantastic here. Sam is a pleasure to deal with. I tend to play here with some regularity because I can get out and I find the holes interesting and fun to play. A nice mix of holes, with some character, rather than holes that just run parallel. (Except for holes 15 & 16, which are too long for me anyway, so I just endure them now).

Out early on a mild overcast morning. Not very busy, so enjoyed as very relaxed easy pace walking at just over 2 1/2 hours. The greens still have not completely healed from the aeration but aren't bad. A bit bumpy and slower than normal. I thought the fairways looked the best I've seen them in some time. For the most part good coverage, nice and green with only a few areas needing attention. Bunkers were over watered, so it was like playing from mud. Tee boxes rather beat up as well.

I understand this course is very polarizing, but I like the basic layout, easy to walk. (Except of course #12) and has enough diversity of hole design to keep your interest. Not overly penal, but enough to warrant your attention. The staff here is wonderful, which is in part one of the reasons I continue to patronize this course

9 am tee time, $33 to walk, pop 4 1/2 hours. This place is like stepping back in time. Clubhouse/ restaurant circa 1950 (buildings look rundown). The course has plenty of potential, unfortunately the city of Oceanside isn't willing to throw some money into this track. Played the blue tees, not an easy layout. Plenty of doglegs, overhanging trees and water hazards. You really need to be able to work your tee ball both ways. Tee boxes beat up, hard to find a level lie. Fairways are so so, there must be at least 3 or 4 different types of grass. Rough doesn't exist, it's either burnt out grass or compacted exposed hardpan. Greens were okay, medium fast speed with a lot of slope from back to front. First time (and last time) playing here. Drive another 10 mintes and play Arrowood, way better course!

First out in the dark on a very mild morning. Much better than when I last played here in late February, and it was 37 degrees. Confirmed they will be aerating the greens beginning Tuesday 4/5/22, so nice to get out prior to the punching. Surprised the course was not more crowded given this.

Greens rolled well, not all that fast, but quick enough to enjoy. More grass on the fairways than I've seen for some time. Much improved. Rough was very inconsistent, some thin, some U S Open length. Bunkers had sand much none had yet been maintained, plus soaked from overnight sprinklers.

Always enjoy playing this fun track. I find it interesting, and it provides a number of fun holes, some birdie holes and a few too tough holes for my game now (#15 & #16) Staff always fantastic, coupled with reasonable rates, remains on my regular rotation.

The greens are exceptional right now. About as good as I've seen them. Fairways are dormant, which is the reason they do not call frost delays. Greenside bunkers had adequate sand and were well maintained. Some of the tee boxes were beat up, but I could always find a decent spot to hit from. (Not as much traffic at the tips)

Enjoy this course. I find it interesting, enough of a challenge to keep your interest, but not so brutal to punish you. Nice mix of holes.

Did not really want to tee off at that time, but there is a threesome which goes off using glow balls, and they hit off right at 6, so unless I choose to follow them, it kind of forces me to hit in the pitch black. What is puzzling, is there was nobody scheduled behind them for at least 1/2 hour, so why they would hit off is a mystery to me?

The greens were excellent! Good speed, rolled very true and were receptive. Every bit as good as the greens at Coto ????? The fairways had pretty good coverage and while there are bare areas, much improved from my lasy visit in November. I was in a bunch of greenside bunkers and while a couple were rather thin, all were well maintained and playable. The tee boxes were the worst part of the course. They are really beat up. I played from the "tips" so a bit easier to find a nice spot to hit from, but they do need some attention.

Staff is always wonderful here, which is one of the reasons I continue to return here. I enjoy this track and hope that it continues to improve.
