PLayed yesterday, 8/14 tee off at 1:20. $35 online rate and then an extra $12 ea for the cart. So $47 total. POP was just fine at 4.25hrs, we were a little on the slow side playing with the wives and all(they like to chat and take their time,ugh).

Course is in about as good of condition as I've ever seen it. About the only thing lacking was the teeboxes, they were a little uneven with divot damage so you needed to take and extra few seconds to fine a good spot.

Fairways were darn near perfect in all the areas that you should've been. They were soft and mowed perfectly, offering a an appropriate little roll out and great hitting surface to hit your next shot.

Greens were fabulous!! They were a little on the wet side, so they held shots very well (my brother's shot into 9 stuck in it's own pitch mark). Yet, they were still very quick and held perfect lines.

Rough is rather non existant any longer on most holes. It gets high on a few holes, but for the most part it's not a problem to hit from or you are in some dirt areas where they did the turf reduction.

Found one bunker and it was just fine. A little damp and compact, but no problem getting out.

Course is playing fantastic right now. They are fixing the teebox issues it looks like, so if they keep up the rest of the course in this condition, it should be playing very well for awhile. Get on out there!!!

Early out on a very mild, although very humid morning. Fantastic service from Sam in the pro shop. He is such a pleasure to deal with to begin the day.

Course continues to be in nice condition, particularly the greens. Even the fairways are green and lush, with lots of coverage. Sure, the rough has some issues, and the areas with the "turf reduction" can be a bit distracting and unsightly, but in theory you shouldn't be in those areas in the first place.

I never walk off this course displeased. A fun layout, reasonably priced, decent condition, great staff. If I lived closer, I'd be out here all the time.

Played on 7/7 with my regular senior group.

Greens: better than average condition, most are firm, smooth and medium speed.

Fairways: very good condition.

Traps: no rakes available but they were raked at the start of the day. You will have to play "winter rules" in the traps.

Tees: many are not level due to old animal burrows.

Rough: 1-3" high with some bare spots but after 15 feet from the fairway you are in the DG.

POP: 4 hours.

Range is open. No snack bar service till around 10 AM. Seating is available outside on the patio after your round. Great deal if you are an Oside senior resident.

Back out to Oceanside - first off as usual, so no issues with place of play. We walked in about 2 hours 40 minutes, a nice easy pace, making sure we stayed behind maintenance mowing the greens. Just as Andrewz28 says, the fairways are wonderful, probably the best I have ever seen here. Granted there are some bare areas and some spots of weeds, but overall just a pleasure to play off. Greens rolled great, medium quick. Bunkers were a mixed bag, so good, some soaked, so the sand was like mush. A few tee boxes could use some attention, but you could always find a decent spot. Since I play the blue, they seem to have less wear than the gold or white tees.

Sam in the pro shop is simply the best. Super friendly and very accommodating. I appreciate it when the shop thanks you for coming out and playing.

Me and a buddy went out around 6:45 AM this morning as a two-ball walking. $28 city resident rate.

WOW! That's all I can say after playing Muni for the first time in about a decade (?). Wednesday seems to be one of the "mow" days as we were more or less behind the guys tending the greens, fairways, and tees (most we were there before they had a chance to put the markers back. We just played at the marker). Whoever the Super is here deserves a raise. No joke. Fairways were exceptional. Like high end country club for the most part. There's a few patches of weird stuff but mostly it was off the charts. The crazy thing is once you get off the fairway, literally BY INCHES, it was about 57 different kinds of grass and weeds and stuff. Kind of crazy but in a weird way, pretty cool.

The greens were AMAZING. It was a misty-ish morning so there's some moisture there, but I'd say they were running about 10.5 and PURE. Held perfectly. Probably the best greens I've played this summer.

Tee boxes were completely fine. There's a short downhill par 3 on the back where it's a bit chewed, but that's it. Otherwise, level and great.

I was in 5 bunkers and I loved them. Good soft sand on top but a bit firm below. Best thing to play out of. Had to place out of one foot print but that's the world we live in.

This is a pretty fun layout. Tons of doglegs, some long par 4s on the back with some teeth, lots of big mature trees and this overwhelming sense that you should have scored better but for some reason didn't. Kind of like that.

If there's one thing I would say as a negative is that early in the morning, before the marine layer burns off and there's any breeze, there's a lot of stagnant water on the course in creeks and stuff and that kind of freaks me out a bit (couple funky smells too). But I'm splitting hairs here.

All in all, Oceanside is pretty much killing it with golf right now. This place is in such great shape and the layout is fun, challenging but a great spot for all handicappers. If you go out and play here right now it's going to be well worth your money.

I have not driven from OC to play Oceaside GC since the turf reduction project was completed several years ago. I was not sure how I would like the turf reduction but i liked it. Most of the turf reduction areas are hard dirt and very playable. I teed off as a single at 7:20. Finished in just over 3 hours taking my time and enjoying the morning.

The course overall was in good condition. The greens rolled fairly smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways were in good condition. No signs of the fairway aeration of a week ago. There were a few brown/thin spots but I had good lies all round. The rough was good with a playable height. The bunkers were a bit damp but I was able to play from the three I was in. The tee boxes were fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness.

Only thing I would like to add is that the fairways have been punched and they have "dragged" the fairway with a wire mesh to break up the plugs so it will be a couple of week before they are "healed" but still very playable. Just got to play winter rules. Recommend.

Back out to Oceanside with a first off tee time. One of the reasons I play here as frequently as I do is because of Sam in the pro shop. He is just the best. Even called me at home to advise me that they no longer required temperature check prior to play.

Not a lot has changed since I played here a couple weeks ago. Greens roll well, reasonably quick. Most fairways are fairly lush, but with some bare areas and thin spots. Rough is inconsistent, and beyond the rough is "gone". The bunkers were well maintained, but some over watered and soaked.

I find this to be an enjoyable track to play. The holes are not redundant, and provide enough of a challenge to keep your interest without being overly penal. Not a big fan of holes #15 & #16, which are just long, without much character. Otherwise the majority of the holes are a nice mix, and none run parallel to one another.

First out at 6am. Covid-19 restrictions as expected. First course to actually take temperatures. Sam in the pro shop is great. Friendly, accommodating, wish that all golf course personal were like him.

Course is in very nice condition. Greens rolled well, decent speed. most fairways lush and well manicured. Bunkers raked with enough sand. Tee boxes OK. Some issues with the rough, but not too bad.

Nice to see they are not price gouging like some other courses. I have a long memory about those kinds of things. Nice to have Oceanside open again.
