Course was in good shape and the greens were rolling pretty nice. Pace of play was not bad either. I would recommend this course to my buddies

Will not ever play this course again. The noise from the freeway was intolerable, my wife and I both had a headache after nine holes. The character of the holes/course was oddly inconsistent, though there were a few nice holes mixed in. For a "resort", the parking was a real nuisance, and the driving range was very inconvenient. It was a real letdown, considering the website and other advertising claims. There are easily ten other courses within 20 miles that exceed the value of Pala Mesa. I might consider playing there if it were free.

Did the play and stay package for $139 pp on monday 3/12 and tues 3/13. Played 36 each day and it is a very fair price for what you get. Started noon on monday and thought we'd get in 18 or maybe 27, but it was wide open and played 36 with plenty of light left. Tuesday was the exact opposite as we teed off at 8:30am first and it was a 5.5 hour round. Second round was the same.

The course was in much better condition than the reviews showed. Tee boxxes were nice and the rough was lush and difficult although there was alot of cut grass left from the mower. The greens were in good shape but a bit bumpy. Only trouble was with some bare spots on a few fairways and these seemed to be filling in quickly.

I don't know that I would play at full rate yet, but the unlimited stay and play package was a great deal. The restaraunt and snack bar are also great as food quality and atmosphere was nice and staff was friendly.

Played today, some of the fairways or around the green area had too much water. Didn't like too much cut grasses were not taking care. Other than that everything was good.

Not as bad as all the reviews have raved.....Greens were a challenge and fun to play....yes fairways are a problem but the renovation was more than half complete

This is amoung the tightest courses that I can recall playing. Add to that greens that are exceptionally sloped meant any score near net par was a winner in our group. Although the course will be prettier later in the year as the fairways green up, I felt the conditions were very playable for this time of year.

I am highly disappointed with Pala Mesa. I've seen numerous photos of the course and read many great reviews and really looked forward to the day I'd play there. The day finally came and I walked away more disappointed than I've ever been with a course.

They shouldn't be charging customers to play during the turf revival program they have in place as the course is in such bad shape I'd compare it to playing in a cow pasture.

First off the fairways are absolutely terrible. Because the turf is dormant its next to impossible to judge the lie and distance to the hole. For example I hit 14 of 18 fairway (7 of which left me with less than 125 to the center of the green) and I never got a good lie. Some spots the fairway was like a sponge and left you hitting it fat and others you might as well have taken out the putter because it was like hitting off a cart path. The consistency of the turn if atrocious. On six occasions I had roughly 50 yards to the pin and because of the turf I hit three of those nearly 80 yards and two went 25 yards...meaning 1 in 6 actually meant hitting the right distance. I'd have been better served to put my tee shot into the rough to get a consistent lie.

Once you got on the greens it was nearly impossible to make a putt. You could have the line and speed right every time only to have the ball hit a lump in the green and go off line by half an inch or so. The greens need to be rolled because they certainly don't roll true.

Thankfully I didn't pay for the round, but my company did and I'd recommend they refuse the credit card billing...it was that bad.

Close the course if you can't give people at least something that resembles a golf course during your turf "renovation".
